Welcome to the last day of the last month of 2019.

We bless God for the achievements of the year.

On another note, what is the future of the Naira with other African countries ready to adopt the ECOWAS Currency called Eco?

In its preliminary assessment, 1 ECO will be equivalent to 1 USD.

Consider the trade dichotomy when NIGERIA and other west African countries with the recent border closure on its impact on their economies.

United Capital’s rate is currently 8.05%.

But the entry fee ($1,000) is lower compared to FBN ($2,500).

Bro/Sis,

How did you pay?

Tried using Payoneer and FCMB Mastercards but they were rejected.

I collected my Airdot from the Post office on Dec 23. It has Dec 19 stamped on it. Meanwhile I got a mail from Aliexpress informing me of failed delivery around Dec 20. That was when I knew the package don land. I have a p.o.box so I simply collected the notification slip from my box and collected the package across the counter. Weight was 0.056kg. No money was demanded. This took 13 days to land. No one called me from the post office.

Surprisingly, there are others shipped with same SG before this one that are yet to arrive.

I have also gotten two more mails from Aliexpress about failed delivery. I may have to wait small to see if more will enter from now till next week before going back to the Post office.

I made 12 different orders during the black friday/cyber monday sales of Dec 2/3. One down. Two ready. Nine to go. Na the phone I dey fear wetin custom go do. Lol.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by deleson: 5:10pm On Dec 24, 2019
Okay.

I’m aware of FBN’s current 9.92% interest rate but the challenge is the entry fee $2500.

Union capital has a lower entry rate at $1000. I’ve shot them an email for the interest rate.

Thanks!

What’s the current interest rate of United Capital’s Eurobond?

emmanuelewumi:
None in Nigeria.

You can buy Eurobond from United capital with $1000. This is about the lowest
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by deleson: 8:03am On Dec 23, 2019
Okay then.

There should still be a way to knock it off through dom account. You may have to do some extensive research or experiment.

Best!

I'm aware of payoneer but it's non of these platforms, It's a private Taiwanese company and their only mode of payment is paypal for foreigners
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by deleson: 10:58pm On Dec 22, 2019
What platforms do you work on?

If it’s Fiverr or Upwork, you can open a Payoneer account, then link it to a USD domiciliary account from any Nigerian bank.

So, the flow would be Fiverr > Payoneer > Dom Account.

Several other platforms aside Fiverr and Upwork allow Payoneer payment transfer.

Lizzyab:
I currently earn money online in dollars and have it transferred to my naira account but i lose about 20% in transfer fees and I want to diversify my income streams and have non-virtual, tangible sources of income right before me, incase our lovely Government wakes up tomorrow and decides to pass some bill restricting internet access or banning inflow from foreign transfer in to your account (LOL, paranoid but you can't blame me....).... I am also trying to build a virtual product to earn royalties on (ebook, info products).... now something evergreen and tied to daily human needs.... any insight greatly appreciated

Quick one; Is there a dollar version of MMF?

Something with lower risk, shorter holding/lock down period and daily interest, but in dollar.

If you know any, please share.

* I’m not asking about Eurobond.

Thanks

However, I’d advise you speak with the bank of your choice.

Hi guys. Can anyone provide details on how an eurobond fund works and how subscription can be made especially if payment to subscribe can be done in Naira. Also any risks involved and conditions attached.

It’s currently 9.92% for FBN.

See attached the screenshot from a recent communication from them.

Good Morning All,

This is urgent - I need someone to help me pay on AliExpress - about $69. I’ll pay in Naira.

The promo ends in few hours. Who will help me biko?

I’ve tried using my Payoneer and FCMB MasterCard but they’ve been refused.

This isn’t my first paying with the Payoneer on AliExpress. I even appealed the case yet it’s still unsuccessful.

Those who dropped their numbers are staunch promoters of evil, secrecy and scam.

How can just be dropping your number for no explained reason.

Mind you, with your number a network map can be drawn across all aspects of your life.

I laugh at the financial desperation and lack of knowledge here.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by deleson: 7:50am On Nov 06, 2019
Value is more of perception.

Anyone looking down on property acquisition and flipping isn't making smart investment decisions.

Smart investors know a thing about diversification of investment portfolios. You just can't stay with Tbills and the capital market in general, and that's it.

Markets swing...bull and bear.

I never get money to dey do big investments like dem Ogas here but I believe God will do it and I'm working hard at that. In the meantime, the knowledge here has been helpful.

ibechris:
What are u guys saying, that 16million can't build such a house?...u guys aren't getting it. Is just a matter of taste and fashion. It's doable and achievable.
Note, some of these buildings u see here and there with over rated value are all caused by contractors, who usually deceive people with heavy laden cost analysis. We just finished one in Abuja this month in fact, the land was relatively cheap because is an estate Land and to completion the owner has spent just 14.8 million so far with land 6million. Total 20.8.

Let us not discourage people because u are doing Tbill doest not mean people in the built sectors aren't making it. Is a matter of Economic preference.

Yeah! I perfectly understand your perspective but this is Nigeria............................... grin

9jatriot:
@bolded, I am actually looking at it from the perspective of the western and developed world where you can walk into a car shop and pick up a car since you can pay gradually. Since we do not have a credit rating scheme in our clime, This is the closest I could come up with as a way of spreading payment over a long time. I do not if you understand the context I am speaking from.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by deleson: 10:19pm On Nov 05, 2019
Read backwards on the thread, you'll find a rich repository on this discourse - Property vs Capital Market Investment.

You'll be happy you did.

A quick one to the Profs, is purchasing land better than investing in treasury bills?
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by deleson: 10:16pm On Nov 05, 2019
Good catch wink...Was typing faster than my brain.

It's really crazy, the material profiling and social scaling system in Nigeria is terrible.

That's one reason a lot of people are getting into illegal and shady acts, to catch up and impress others, because there is an existing army of praise-singers for anyone with money, regardless of how it is acquired.

Personal and family value systems must be restructured for homes and this country to advance from its current quagmire.

9jatriot:
Did you mean the more likely or is your less likely correct?

Our clime watch you for success and one of the first obvious sign is your car. It is so bad that if you attend some meetings, they will literarily see you off to where your car is packed to try and estimate your worth with the perceived value of your car. As funny as it may sound, that little detail can sometimes determine if your contract will be signed or not. Our clime non get part 2 o.
