Sorry for the late response, I missed the mention.

Either TBills or MMF will be fine.

But I'll personally go for Tbills...Unfront interest and locked down capital.

With MMF, something can push you into collecting the money too easily wink tongue

toby4ever:
Very low risk, duration of 1year at least.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by deleson: 4:12pm On Nov 05, 2019
Wait! Did you get a loan to force you into saving the initial 10M?

If not, then your proposition isn't positive. Quite worried about your assertion that taking and servicing a loan is a good way to maintain a saving culture.

But I guess you have a better understanding of yourself, health and saving culture.

Do note that there variable factors that evolve with times and seasons.

9jatriot:
Okay, maybe a 10M TB for 8M loan may suffice. The whole idea for me is to enforce a savings culture that probably resulted in the 10M anyway.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by deleson: 4:01pm On Nov 05, 2019
Some persons are too noble to tell such lies...Sorry, diplomacy, I meant.

DeSepiero:
Buy your car with your 10m - tell people is bought on loan if you must.
When your monthly cashflow comes, which which would have serviced the loan, channel it into a dedicated savings account with a standing order - the cashflow will be invested in TB or Bonds.

Cheers!
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by deleson:
grin grin The embolden is hilarious and a reflection of societal demands on persons perceived as successful with some material possession.

A lot is really wrong in this clime...The more money you have, the more you're most likely to be bothered for financial support and needless social expectations.

9jatriot:
Please not that the mode of repayment is not expected to be from that actual investment but from my normal means of living. That TB or bond investment is only to serve as a collateral and may not even contribute towards the repayment of the loan. The fact that I know I have a monthly commitment will in my opinion help me stay financially discipline and I can shout it to the roof top to anyone that cares to listen that I am paying for car loan so that all those that would have categorized me as money bag go around saying "non mind am, that e big car, na loan he take buy am sef".

At the whole of the whole exercise, I will have my 10M+ compounded interest and my car.

What do you guys think?

When you’re thinking of investing, also think of specify the duration.

How long can you leave the money for?

How much risk can you bear on the funds?

toby4ever:
Hi everyone,

I'm kinda new to this investment thing and trying to understand TBills and MMF.

If someone has 2m to invest, which would be the best considering the Interest rate. TBills or MMF.

Please the Gurus in the house I await your response.
Thanks
FamilyRe: The Controversy Regarding Female Ejaculation by deleson: 6:33pm On Oct 26, 2019
Too many people read this piece without understanding but choose to still comment.

From the article, female ejaculation refers to the milky substance released at orgasm. And not everyone releases the milky substance.

Most women reach orgasm but don’t ejaculate; hence, orgasm isn’t the same as female ejaculation.
FamilyRe: He Cheated And Blames Me by deleson: 5:49pm On Oct 26, 2019
Hey Zainab,

Sorry about your experience.

You’ve done nothing to warrant this treatment and heart break. Don’t let your husband cow you into believing you’re responsible for his irresponsibility.

Given that you acknowledge your little defiance in catering to his sexual needs, he should have been able to speak with you about his needs and also do the needful by supporting you with home chores.

Discuss roles and responsibilities with him, tell him you can’t afford sharing him for too many reasons including his own well-being. But not without him first recognizing, acknowledging and truly apologizing about his infidelity to you.

Best regards/wishes to the triplets and your family.

Zainab20198:
I recently found out my husband of 5 years has been cheating on me , he accidentally left his Facebook account open on my laptop and I read everything. He told this girl he loves her and want to spend the rest of his life with her, I confronted him and his side of things is I have been pushing him away to care for our very high needs 2 years old triplets sons and my sons needs constant attention , it’s very tiring working , caring for the kids and keeping the house clean with no house help. I know I have my faults , and all my energy goes into the kids and trying to keep the households running , so there isn’t much left at the end of day. I’m always tired and once the kids are sleeping I’m far to tired to do anything ... like sex. He knows all this yet I’m at fault. I feel heart broken , I try to talk to him and he just blames me , even if I’m in wrong , how is cheating justified by what I have done ? I don’t know what to do ?

This is an existential crisis that has been left to fester for years, however, it can be resolved.

Apparently, a lot of the commentators didn’t read the post in its entirety or just read to reply.

OP isn’t interested in his money but establishing family bonds with him, especially for the sake of the younger generation.

Handling this issue requires a multi-faceted approach. Professional counseling, intentional forgiveness and forgetting the past, parental involvement and honest conversations, prayer, wisdom and understanding.

Exact question on my mind ooo.

Don't believe anyone saying there's no money in this country.

Although a good per cent of the investments are from Nigerians living abroad, why? Because the returns are better here.

We can only re-evaluate their money belief system and train our minds to see and explore more opportunities.

LOL!

All man with his investment decisions.

After doing a similar calculation, months back, I concluded it won’t be worth the wahala investing in Eurobond. Let’s just be rolling over the TBills.

don't mind those advocating we hedge funds in dollar currency...

Sit back and do the math..
You put 360k/1000$ in Eurobond @ 9% = 33k
Dollar rises to N 400 great!!

No!!
Your 1k$ = 400k and your interest = 36k ONLY! @400/$
BS!

Meanwhile, 360k @12% in Tbills = 43k

Show me the gain of doing EuroBonds
(you might end up buying $ @370 anyway)

The stock market, just as any other investment, isn’t immune to risks and social disruptions. Good knowledge, understanding and wisdom are critical to the success of any investment.

The need to improve the saving and investment culture of Nigerians, especially, the youths is dire and demanding.

A lot of people make so much money in this country, but the challenge (perhaps why poverty still pervades the land) is MANAGING and MULTIPLYING the acquired money, hence the circle of poverty continues, effortlessly.

Almost 80% of Nigeria’s population (personal data) is neck deep in the funfare, spend-it-all now, tomorrow will take care of itself, mentality.

Don't pay any exorbitant fee to anybody oooo.

Got one last month at the Lagos airport through the referral of the airline workers...I paid 3K and the card was officially recognised in Ghana.

Another of my friends paid 5K in Lagos, while another one paid 80 Cedis to get it in Ghana.

Either way, just up your negotiation bids.

Car TalkBMW X5 - Good For A First Time Female Owner? by deleson(op): 8:52pm On Aug 04, 2019
This evening, a young friend was speaking to me about her plans to get a car.

She mentioned names like Honda Accord, Sportage and all, but particularly, expressed deep interest in BMW x5.

Gurus, do you think it is a good ride for a first-time owner in Lagos?

She'd be using it as a daily ride - so, one would expect, efficiency and affordable maintenance.

Please share your thoughts.

Isn’t there a port health at the airport that issues the card?

I learnt there’s also a way of paying online N2000 just to go get the vaccine at the airport then pick up the card.

Never had an experience of this but I heard.

When you get to MM2 don't listen to those guys telling you to buy yellow card and feeling you BS stories, any card they sell to you there is fake

Keep like 10k, when you get to Accra you can buy original yellow card there

Otherwise you will waste any money you use in buying any yellow card in Nigeria because it is fake

As at this morning, they had not published the interest rates since the quarter began.

My interest on my investment has been terribly low not even with the reinvestment of the accrued interest.

Well, I raised these concerns to my account manager via an email. She called and offered explanation that they’re balancing their books hence the hitches.

We keep our fingers crossed.
