Do you realize the man hour, energy and cost of doing interstate travels in Nigeria, Let alone the risk?

You’ll burn out everyday traveling from Ogun to Lagos daily or even 2/3 times in a week.

Nigeria isn’t US/UK, where you have trains and organized transport and road system. Wait till the day you spend the whole day on Lagos-Ibadan expressway, then you’ll rethink your life.

The personal solution to these things, is self-empowerment. Working for people and waking up all day to go to work isn’t sustainable these days except you’re doing one of those fortune jobs.

Most employments in Nigeria are organized slavery.

What time of the day (Monday) does FBN credit accounts with weekend arrears?

On the two experiences I’ve had, I only got a confirmation on Friday.

One I applied on a Tuesday and the other on Wednesday, but got a confirmation on Friday for both.

My conclusion though not officially confirmed, activations are done on Friday.

For every time I log in to my FBNQuest app to check the MMF account, I receive an SMS alert.

I hope they won’t charge for the SMS ooo.

If you are not ready to take much risk and no time to monitor day to day running of your investment MMF with a good fund manager is good to invest 2m or even more.

Yields are paid daily excluding weekends. You'll receive yield for weekends on the following Monday. So, on every Monday you should receive about 3 times the yield you received on Friday.

The meter is the property of the electricity company (government).

Visit their office. They can reroute it for you, but it’s certainly not your property.

So I rented this house, the owner lied that he was processing a prepaid meter, I spent three years paying estimated bills 10k per month, so when the NEPA people saw the outstanding bills in our community is too much , they brought free prepaid meter that they will attach to pole for everyone, and before you can recharge the Meter, you will have to pay all your outstanding bills or help you factorize half of the money so you can pay little by little every month.. While the civic will seem preferable to many, if you'd be owning the car for a quite number of years, the experience should matter. Chrome door handles, better sterio sound, better dashboard and radio compartment plus the accord isn't looking so dated as the civic. The whole experience matters too.

In the used market, they are also very similar prices.

But then, quite a number of persons advised getting any of the 2006 - 2008 Civic.

Go for Civic 03-05...it is a strong economy car, parts are easily available and they are cheaper.

The thing about first time car is , you need to avoid cars with issues and expensive maintainace/parts as much as possible as this would negatively impact your first time experience.

Fairly used Civic 03 - 05 are between 400kish and 1m, their prices are not hyped like Toyota corrola, and they are lesser than Honda accords.

Resale isn't bad - if you buy for 400k you can atleast sell 300k after used, which isn't bad.

They are stronger {no crack engine with coolant leaking issues like 06-09 Honda Civic , or major mechanical problem or recall}

They are almost at par with a Toyota corrola in terms of fuel economy and maintenance.

Cars are meant to move you from point A to b this car does the job fine.

I'd like to read your thoughts on this financial options.

Profile - I'm in my late 20s with some little funds to plan the next phase of my life.

I am contemplating investing about 2 million in getting a leased self-con apartment for about 15 years somewhere in Yaba...My intent for this is to establish an assured means of financially supporting my future family annually for about 10-15 years.

Alternatively, I could use a large of funds to buy my first car and be cruising around, and use the remaining sum to get a plot or two pieces of land in Ibeju Lekki - all for the future.

The third option is to save up the funds and plan to wed real soon.

But my concerns are these;

How well will the leased apartment appreciate with time?
If I get a car now, won't it create a false social impression that I've arrived (trust you know what that comes with in Nigeria)?
Am I considering Marriage too early?
Is the Ibeju Lekki property a good choice?
