The man that rapped and killed that little boy in the north was given the option of paying #30k and avoid jail and many rapists have been let go or even not convicted because the police even encourages victims to resolve the case out of court. Some rapist even get the blessing of being offered their victims in marriage.
It is more rewarding and easier to avoid punishment when a man rapes than when he steals a laptop in naija.
