Politics / Re: Sa’id Alkali: Lagos Red Line Rail Will Boost Nigeria's Economy by delpee(f): 9:46am On Mar 01
wunmi590:

You can talk about Oyo State, but that goripapa governor who called himself dapo, the eleyi of eying, doesn't have any tangible idea, he's a very big mistake to Ogun state people

Funny. grin All energy concentrated on Cargo airport in the midst of abject poverty. He could at least have improved the economy of the rural areas by supporting farming activities and providing the much needed infrastructure...good roads, schools, water and hospitals especially. The only Governor that came up with useless keke NAPEP ambulances for the ill equipped PHCs where they exist. sad

He seems to have woken up lately. He's planning to work on the FG abandoned Lagos-Abeokuta expressway (to be tolled) and I think he mentioned that he plans to take the Red Line deeper into Ogun State.
Music/Radio / Re: Chike Ft. Mohbad - Egwu (video) by delpee(f): 9:36am On Mar 01
Nice one from Chike. Greater heights to him. He'll live to prosper and reap bountifully from his labor.

Mohbad's voice stands out always....
May his soul rest in peace.
Romance / Re: My Mother Keeps Rejecting All My Suitors Because A Prophet Said So - Naija Lady by delpee(f): 10:33pm On Feb 29
Spiritual stuff perhaps but in reality, if you're sure of the suitability of the person you want to marry (including his roots), and you believe you'll be happy in the relationship, you can marry without her consent under the law.

However, try to get the support of your dad or older family members who can talk to your mum. That's assuming diabolical matters are not involved. Your dream about her speaks volumes but there's nothing too hard for God to do.

Inefficient and tunde irukera is more like words and opposite.

Honestly, I still don't get it. He made such a huge difference in that sector.

I pray that God rewards him marvellously for his commitment and diligence. Reminds me of the lady sacked by PMB who ended up with a better job in the UN.

The minister of interior reforms are visible and working. The contactless passport application process and the proposed home delivery service is going to be record breaker if that is achieved.

Some of those living abroad have shown their passports as mailed to them recently. Truly commendable.

This is good news! Kudos to our armed forces.
Hopefully, the bandits, BH, criminal herders, ISWAP etc will soon be old news. We need peace in our nation for the economy to thrive.

Politics / Re: NLC Protests: Why Nigeria's Economy Is In Such A Mess - BBC News by delpee(f): 2:37pm On Feb 27
Funny thing is that the UK economy isn't any better at this point in time. There's high inflation rate and infrastructure deficit in some areas. The NHS is a complete mess. You can't walk into the hospital as we do here except on emergency.

Interesting! Including the ex this and that politicians already on fat pensions. undecided

Ideally, we don't need a large population of lawmakers in two houses. We need to scrap one.

This list is not complete until I see that National Hajj Commission and Christian pilgrim commission is scrapped completely cus it has no benefit whatsoever to Nigeria and Nigerians

According to the report, they'll be scrapped. Only Consular services and vaccinations will be taken care of by FG henceforth. That should fall under the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health.

How exactly should they be held accountable?

Start by asking your LG Chairman what he has done with the allocation sent to him for development in your area. You can form neighbourhood associations to work effectively as a group.

Wonderful! How's this ladylike? What's the purpose of disproving an irrelevant law if it doesn't apply to you? This younger generation amazes me.

Politics / Re: Bugaje: "Lagos Boys' arrogantly Misled Tinubu On Niger Crisis by delpee(f): 7:54pm On Feb 25
What do "Lagos boys" have to do with ECOWAS? He only complied with ECOWAS rules at the time and it was based on a consensus at a meeting with other Heads of States. It couldn't have been his personal decision.

Northern politicians spend so much time making mountains of mole hills to demonise others and to cover up their own misdeeds and inefficiencies in service to their people.

This means that high prices are due to high cost of transportation and the antics of middlemen.

Goodday90:
Iwuanyanwu said that Yoruba rascals are causing the fight between Yoruba and Hausa, come and see them threatening fire and brimstone
The truth is that the average Yoruba man fears the northerner like a god,I remember a time an hausa boy insulted and slapped a Yoruba woman in mile 12,the Yorubas around there were just whisper “Hausa ni,o ma ni dagger ni be” meaning he is an hausa o,he might have a dagger in there
Na that time I shake head for These people

Stop this nonsense. You're relating a matter between an unarmed person with someone who is armed. What do you expect?

The bandits terrorising farmers and villagers are all over the nation with videos as valid evidence. Do you see unarmed civilians confronting them?. Haven't we seen people in the SE losing their lives and pleading for help? Don't we know that Ebubeagu, Amotekun and others are making efforts but need greater support to succeed?
Politics / Re: Akeredolu's Funeral: Nigeria Army Arrests Kidnappers Along Akoko-owo Road by delpee(f): 2:25pm On Feb 23
We really need stronger laws to deal with kidnappers. No amnesty, no short prison terms that bring them back into circulation quickly. The HOA member should be tried along with them if he's found culpable.
Culture / Re: Nigerian Lady Shows Off Newborn Baby’s Tribal Marks by delpee(f): 10:56am On Feb 23
This doesn't look like Yoruba tribal marks though.
Maybe she's just catching cruise.

Absolute nonsense if true. She deserves to be arrested for child abuse. We're no longer in the era of wars when people needed to be identified by their ethnic groups.
Food / Re: The Jollof And Fried Rice With Moi-Moi I Bought ₦4100. by delpee(f): 10:52am On Feb 23
Bullfallo:
Total was N4100.

The price increase nor be small. Before it would have been less than N3000. And during Jonathan time N1200 at most

With the way things are going it’s unsustainable.

The life and living condition of a middle class is no longer sustainable. So many people will bankrupt and cant pay rent. Alot of people will go to village from the city. Imagine I have to eat this every night and in a month? Only dinner o, and On which income?

Pele. Better days ahead.
Please avoid moinmoin made in foil, plastic cups or nylon sheets. It's not healthy. You can read up on it online.

We all need to understand that those who are prone to domestic violence hardly ever change. They only seem to understand the implications when a tragic event like this occurs. The man should have walked away from the marriage long ago.
May his soul rest in peace.

The governors, if actually given the money, will keep it for 2027 election campaign.

That's because we don't hold them accountable. People waste so much time and energy on BAT and FG in general instead of monitoring how the highly increased monthly allocation to their states are being utilised.

Rotation Amaechi said it all. They continue to steal because we don't respond appropriately.

Business / Re: Lagos To Convert Computer Village, Ikeja To Residential Area by delpee(f): 10:31pm On Feb 21
bitbillionaire:
So they just wake up to discover it is a residential area after all this years!

Imagine the cost of demolishing all the buildings and structures in that computer village and building residential apartments there from scratch. Is that not madness?

The plan to relocate predates this government. The area was a residential area. Fela once lived there. His shrine was then a problem in the neighbourhood. All they've been trying to do is to revert to the masterplan. Katangua had been earmarked for a computer village but it seems the will to develop it wasn't there.

Once opon a time there was a yaba market ,that was doing so well and had the biggest line of clothing business ,the levy and tax paid made it one of the richest LG not just in lagos but Nigeria .

But one thing made the government of lagos sad , too sad. It was controlled by igbos ,the igbos who are typically traders .

They closed the market, built a gigantic mall and gave it to a yoruba man to lease or rent ,but first let the yorubas be the priority to rent to.

Today, the mall is being rented by snakes and lizard ,only the down floor have spar.

So where did the igbos go, well they still remained in a corner there, making their monies .

This ikeja computer village is another example .it will fail .

There are Igbos, Yorubas and Hausas in the new Tejuoso market. Many of the shops are occupied.
Seems you've not been there lately.

There should be a proper bus terminal in Obalende instead of having the buses queuing on the roads thereby causing slow traffic movement and standstill at times.

Some people don't understand the need for decorum. It's basic moral instruction irrespective of religion. This is taught at home and at school but those who want to feel "woke" will turn deaf ears. Decency honors, indecency shames.
Food / Re: A Nigerian Dad's Funny Advice To Baby Goes Viral (pic, video) by delpee(f): 4:50pm On Feb 20
Actually the baby can have a mixed diet of breast milk and semi solids at 5 months. Mashed potatoes with fish and veggies, amala and ewedu without pepper for yorubas (ewedu is full of nutrients), mashed beans without the skin, egg, pap made with maize, guinea corn and millet etc.
