Education › Re: Grace Osunlakin, UNIOSUN Student's Death Sparks Outrage by delpee(f): 10:23pm On Jun 26 |
Very sad indeed. They should have taken her to any other functional clinic or hospital in town since they were aware that the clinic closes by 6pm.
I remember though, that the health centre in my university days was open 24/7. People can fall ill at anytime. The Osun State University owns the Alakija built and well equipped teaching hospital. Shouldn't the students have access to that?
May her soul rest in peace. |

I've never seen a cow on any Yoruba traditional wedding list. Goat, Eja Osan in some cases but a whole cow...na wa!
Grooms don't buy clothes for the brides parents to the best of my knowledge. According to our culture, the brides family hosts the event. In modern times, it's often jointly done as a cost sharing measure. |

Nteogwuija: It's not by creating autonomy, also create systems where these people are held accountable.
My local government Chairman takes in 1billion naira monthly as allocation but man does literally nothing, and you can't talk to him because he's always guarded.
What he does is to appoint SAs who don't know jack about their jobs, and majority are women who he created a WhatsApp group for where he posts his images for validation from the girls.
If these people can't be held to account, then autonomy is useless. You can access FAAC allocations and use that as a basis to expose/sue him. Work with other constituents and NGOs if necessary. |

It is possible that few of the "repentant " terrorists who were primarily coerced into joining BH may be willing to live better lives. However, they should be rehabilitated by learning skills that will make them independent.
Working alongside the military isn't wise. It will open them up to temptations from their former colleagues especially in terms of intel. We've heard too many stories of soldiers getting killed this way. We can't continue to sacrifice our soldiers to please heartless terrorists. |

There are debates centred on hair attachments not being so healthy for ladies due to the high percentage of chemicals therein in some cases. Since they're mostly used by blacks, I hope black producers will do more research to keep women safe from health issues that may arise from long term use. That is if the adverse reports are true. |

@OP
Your wife has the dominant gene at this time but it doesn't mean that some of your grandchildren won't look like you.
If you're not careful with this mindset, you'll dislike your children for no reason. If your 2nd wife has one child that looks like you, preferential treatment will occur. On the other hand, you may get the same result which leads to frustration.
Do you really want to create problems for yourself and your family over a matter that is beyond human control? |
Celebrities › Re: Igbos Own All The Lands In Lagos- Rapper Ill Bliss. by delpee(f): 4:34am On Jun 15 |
KobolanderSegun: Sorry to burst your bouble. The success of Lagos has little to do with the Yoruba and Everything to do with the Colonials. If Oduduwa peeps did it in Lagos as you claim how come it was not replicated in Ogun, Oyo, Oshun , Kwara ? British made Lagos the Capital of Nigeria and invested heavily in Lagos to modernize Lagos To Their taste. When the British left Lagos was already the Capital and military leaders continued to invest in Lagos hence the Third Mainland bridge , Carter bridge and IBB Bridge. Lagos was given a Fantastic head start. So since the focus was Lagos for Close to 100 yrs of British and Military investment what we see is a lingering development of Lagos.
The British gave Lagos Everything then NIgerians followed.
I live in Magodo and Surulere in Lagos so I'm not someone trying to downplay Lagos.
I'm just telling you the Facts. Lagos was Built by The British. Lagos Territory did not go beyond Yaba. When I was young, the Welcome to Western Region signboard was at Fadeyi. There was no expressway, so we went through Ikorodu/Sagamu and Ijebu Ode to get to Ibadan. Those roads, industrial estates and housing estates on the mainland after Yaba/Surulere were all built by the Western Region government. The first TV station, south of the Sahara in Africa was built by the Western Region government. That is the root of today's NTA. There are many more.... Let's just say that those who cancelled History as a subject at a point in time have succeeded in allowing wrong narratives to thrive. |
