A family member from either side has a right to demand for a paternity test to ascertain the true situation of things if in doubt. I have seen the woman's side being the plaintiff in cases like this too so it is not a case of playing the victim card. This is African culture. Situations like this are bound to occur when a husband or wife dies under mysterious circumstances. Let's forget all this nonsense we are spitting

You must be a fool without family problems then. As educating as Nairaland is, I don't know why there seem to be bunch of nonentities here. Someone's Paternal father is having paternity doubt because of certain issues and would want the daughter-in-law to take a DNA test to ascertain if his son is the "biological father" of her child or the "legal one" , but you feel he doesn't have a case because " his son" accepted that he's the father b4 he died. Sorry to say but I don't think we are on the same wavelength here. You clearly are not rational with your response . I can only pray we don't have any family member(s) who experienced what Mohbad did. I am very sure that you will be among those calling for a DNA test especially when it is something that will bring closure, mend broken hearts and finally lay to rest any perceived or lingering doubt. Nobody will fold their arms and hear cases like that about their son or brother and ignore. I repeat, it is 100% valid if they want to know if Liam is truly their grandson, nephew etc. Nothing like slut shaming anybody. This stuff happens even among couples who are married today. It's just to be very sure . They have been delaying this stuff for far too long. He who brings ant infested woods to the room must not be feel bad when lizards start visiting. The lady you are supporting and the entire family brought and washed their "dirty" linen in public for all of us to see. Oga if you don't know about issues, kindly keep quiet. The husband's family has a right to take the supposed wife to court asking for a DNA test. If you dey watch the Paternity court, you go even see say na cases like this plenty pass when the man in question is deceased . There's nothing stopping her from doing it. It doesn't take anything away from her
