PoliticsRe: This Nigerian Soldier Died Giving His Life For His Comrades .photo by Deltagiant:
I feel sad for young South East and South Southerners who put their lives on the line for a "country" that has refused to negotiate a better political future for their regions. Who would remember this young man 50 years today for having fought for a dying arrangement like Nigeria? If an Ijaw like him had died fighting for Ijaw cause, he, like Boro and others would continue to be remembered even 20,000 years today.

What a short sightedness! Well, RIP

It is an all too familar story about Buhari...For those who are aware of his antecedents

A rehash of the old Buhari we know...thoughtless idiot

Is the report true? Until it's seconded by other reliable sources

I just have this burning need to reply you. What affirmed family genealogy are you talking about?...who affirmed it?....look my friend, Bukola Saraki is plain Yoruba...he's actually from Osun state, his father Olushola was a migrant to Kwara. At first, he went to Ilorin to learn Islamic knowledge before he decided to stay permanently. He earn his political prowess through his "philanthropy".

I understand how confusing it may look to you but that's the story of most people from Ilorin, they have origins from other places. Forget the awkward names they bear, that some doesn't particularly resonate Yoruba but they are.
I'll be better schooled if you could link me with where the Sarakis claimed Osun descent, just as i can link you up with where their late patriach narrated their ancient Fulani trail. The Sarakis would have nothing to lose from asserting a Yoruba origin, i guess.

For example, It's not like the situation we have in some parts of Igboland in which some Igbos that were 'luckily' ceded outside the South East after the war had to disclaim Igbo to get goodies from the central government.

Why would the Sarakis deny their Yoruba lineage if they ever were? And even when the Yoruba nation allied with the North to fight Igbos, and had since then been getting a (fair share?) of the war booty? Does it make any sense to you?

That is why it makes plain sense to accept the family's public statement to the effect that they are FULANI.
PoliticsRe: Elders Reject FG’s Plan To Build Nuclear Power Plant In A/ibom by Deltagiant: 10:53am On Jul 04, 2015
Nigeria through her history hasn't got maintenance culture, and should'nt start the learning curve with an issue such as a nuclear facility.
PoliticsRe: Elders Reject FG’s Plan To Build Nuclear Power Plant In A/ibom by Deltagiant: 10:21am On Jul 04, 2015
A good one by the elders. Other non Akwa ibom communities are equally disturbed about the proposed nuclear facility. Arochukwu in Abia state is a stone throw from Itu. And from what i gathered they're highly apprensive of the situation. The fact is that Eastern region is densely populated and land is scarce. Northern Nigeria with it's vast uninhabited land area is well suited for the purpose. Why not there?
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Urged US And UK To Close Embassy Of Biafra And Voice Of Biafra by Deltagiant:
The whole rigmarole simply showed Nigeria how times have changed. Even Obasanjo couldn't stop it. It is no longer the 60s. The Easterners are using the extant international laws at their disposal. It is over 12 years now and Obasanjo has since left government. The pressure and the desire for freedom have since widened more the scope of what happened then. It is now happening inside Nigeria.

You can't kill an idea whose time has come.
PoliticsRe: Biafra And The Ibibio Question: My Position by Deltagiant: 7:02pm On Jul 03, 2015
noblezone:
Biafra is not forcing any body.
Biafra should not and must not force any nation to join her.

If the Ibibio nation do not want to be part of Biafra, then we should move on without them.

I a die hard Biafran. However, if any nation like the Ibibios will be forced into Biafra which they dont want, then the foundation of Biafra will be fraudulent. And some of us will do all we can to stand against Biafra on that one.
The best we can do is to educate and persuade, but to force and intimate like we have it in Nigeria is out of the question.

We want a great nation with a great foundation.

We cannot create another Nigeria and call it Biafra.

just like some people created something worse than the PDP and called it APC.

Every nation in Biafra must be allowed to make their choice.
The people must be allowed to decide what they want.

If the leaders of Biafra start intimidating any minority nation, then some of us will lead the Opposition against such leaders.
it is as simple as that.

Cheers to all.
@the bolded, made so much sense

PoliticsRe: Peter Obi & Jonathan Brought Boko Haram Prisoners To Anambra Not Me – Obiano by Deltagiant: 11:22pm On Jul 02, 2015
forexexpert:
Why are Igbos so gullible and so easily deceived?

Let me ask Igbos a simple question, what does Jonathan or Peter Obi have to gain by bringing Boko haram to Igbo land where he has a 100% support base?

No right thinking person will do this to his teeming supporters.

Don't let Yorubas and Hausa people deceive you.

Bokoharam is an Hausa-Fulani Jihadist army and it is very very easy to see who is behind them.

One more question, if this so called prisoner transfer was authorized by Jonathan, why didn't Buhari cancel it, since he is now the President?

He Buhari was busy cancelling Niger Delta Amnesty Programme and overseas scholarships for the Niger Delta militants, but he couldn't cancel this, assuming that this is GEJ's idea as Vanguard newspaper claims.

Igbos please don't be deceived at all. This is Hausa + Yoruba propaganda.
You make no sense either. This is a weighty issue for anyone to contemplate roping in an innocent person.
I don't buy the conspiracy theory! We shall know the truth and whoever is behind it is finished politically

U Know wat? foolishness has has incited a lot of clueless/durllard nd sence-low people to say things relating to places they have never and may never be able to go to.
The Saudi "Royal" family was not born out of spirituality. It is a political creation of the British. There was nothing like "saudi" appended to the name of the country until the British dusted one unknown man called Saud and made him king. He immediately became a maximum ruler and renamed the country after his name.

This development had nothing to do with the Islamic shrines in the country. So the Saud family are like other opportunistic leaders in the Arabia, islam notwithstanding. Thus the gay life of their princes shouldn't come to you as a surprise. Even as your narrow world view won't allow you see beyond your stu.pidity. Read below:

U know what? Religion is a great opium that makes people ACTUALLY silly to the extent of defending open secrets such as the gay lives of the Saudi princes. Have a good day!

For the umpteenth time, Bukola Saraki is Yoruba!

And concerning PMB appointment, I don't see anything wrong in appointing those who you trust to run things for, all we should be concerned about is results. Whichever way he chose to achieve that is his cup of shai

It's not like when he appoint my tribeman he'll share his salary with me or something
Bukola Saraki is NOT yoruba. Respect the family's affirmed geneology, please. If he is yoruba from what i believe is your reason, then Prof. ibrahim Agboola Gambari should as well be regarded as Yoruba afterall his name is Agboola. Just as the emir of ilorin should as well be regarded as Yoruba cos his name is Kolapo.

Homosexuality is prevalent amongst the top echelon of the Saudi society and equally amongst the many princes of the Saud family

To the extent that western business men looking for investment opportunities in the kingdom most times found themselves in a homo quid pro quo which many have fallen for it.

This Imam no doubt has the nod of these rich princes of the desert kingdom, even financial motivation to that effect. So sad
PoliticsRe: Buhari Appoints Lawal Musa-Daura As SSS Director General by Deltagiant: 5:50pm On Jul 02, 2015
Getting Interesting. This man's mission is yet to fully unfold but i can bet anyone that Buhari is a tragedy for the people of that country.

By the time he's done, even the international community will appreciate the need for a review of the geo-political structure of Nigeria.

The coupist mentaily is very much alive, that's why there is no cabinet other than witch hunting of perceived enemies. Nigeria may have inadvertently slided into the dark days of the Hausa-Fulani khaki boys. But sadly, may be difficult for them in this era of massive global media....
