Impressed. IPOB continues to send strong messages through the two state capitals of Delta and Rivers that the game of deceit is up!

No army, no matter how strong, can defeat an idea whose time has come. Every thing in life that has a begining naturally has an end.

I'm waiting for Hopeathand to give us his own perspective as to why a larger assembly of protesters is taking place in Iguocha after he said it won't happen again.

By now, I'm sure no one is in doubt as to the ethnic diversity of PH Protests.

Restless potential prosecutors of another civil war must face the fact that unlike last time, there are observers, international observers to, from their home countries, enforce rules of civilised engagements. These days, you may not escape charges for crimes against humanity. And to perfect such criminal charges, satellite television will beam over all military operations. Also note that national borders of countries are no longer considered sacrosanct or inviolate to offer a basis for denying subjects their right to self-determination. Are countries not, therefore, not rendered vulnerable to balkanisation? Which country will, therefore, be safe from disintegration? The simple response is that even the so-called Balkans of old have self-balkanised. Yugoslavia, yesteryear beacon against disintegration, since broke up into various new independent nations of Serbia, Montenegro and Croatia, among others. Evwn Czechoslovakia of old also broke into Czech and Slovak. Heavens did not fall as all the new countries enjoy mutual respect.

Yes, that is the new world order many descendants of the 1960s feudalists and their southern vassals do not comprehend.

Though honourable in its responsibility as the foremost voice of the opposition, the PDP should thread carefully on this political minefield. It cannot be seen to be a voice of secessionists particularly those on sectional and tribal lines, particularly lines that are deep bloody scars that just won't heal. The PDP must remain a genuine national party to remain relevant in the scheme of things. Their position on this will not help their course in seeking a way back to power.

@the bolded, If you so thought and rightfully so, why would you not want those sections to bow out of the union? "Deep bloody scars that won't heal"...Yes, you're right! Must we then continue to kill to live together...What kind of a union is that...in the 21st century?

What PDP did was what is expected of a civilized group of people. The idi;ot from Daura failed on the least thing he could have done which is allowing Kanu to go home, given the fact that he's fulfilled all the bail conditions granted him.

Report has it that over 10 Million IPOB members currently on the road protesting the illegal detention of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of indigenous people of Biafra, an activist,a human right crusader and the director of Radio Biafra.
He was arrested by Nigeria government on his way to Biafra land, since then he has been charged to court and competent court granted him bail and order for his release, It is also very unfortunate that Buhari defies court order and on his own personal order detained Nnamdi kanu. This prompt protest all over the world by angry IPOB members.

It's very clear that those who grand-stand for the "Niger Delta' in Nairaland are not only insignificant, they're equally not informed about the current political psyche of the natives of the region.

There was a big uprising in Port Harcourt following the arrest of Mr. Kanu. And this same disingenuos persons tried to disinform Nairalanders about the true identities of the protesters until a random arrest of the protesters revealed they were majority non South Easterners.

The heart of the Ijaw nation, Bayelsa, have shown their full support for the freedom of Biafra, and now it is "Wen we see Real Niger Deltans, we know".

It's only fools and greedy minded folks that won't see this big express train that has already departed. Pity

If you are Igbo, and you have any sense or reason, how can you defend this country designed to punish you and your children unborn?
What type of a person are you?

Hausa has KANO International airport. Undisputed Hausa.
Yoruba has LAGOS international airport. Undisputed Yoruba.
Igbo has ? (Port Harcourt where some are denying being Igbo ), or Enugu that is really a LOCAL airport

Why is there no DIRECT flight to Europe, USA, or Japan from Enugu

Your argument that Enugu airport is 'really a local airport' is relatively weak. Enugu practically has an international airport that was gazzetted by the federal government. Ethiopian airlines operates in Enugu, picking passengers from their hub in Addis Ababa. These pasengers converge at Addis Ababa airport from around the world en route Enugu. The same operational system applies to the Western airlines. You either take off, end your journey, or transit from their respective hubs to your final destination.

Thus, from the passenger traffic so far, Ethiopia being the only foreign airline plying the Enugu route, has been doing remarkably well.

Therefore, It is the responsibility of the SE residents to increase the traffic by investing in Igboland, which invariably will attract the interest of the bigger players such as KLM, Lufthansa, Delta etc..

Kano airport is not faring any better. Remove the mostly Islamic airlines on Hajj Operations and you have a different picture. The last governor of the state even had to plead with Ethiopia airlines to resume operations to the airport. They did but for only two months, then packed up.

So Ndigbo and SE governors shouldn't wait for anyone to bring these western airlines to Enugu. Like i said,it is their responsibility.

Igbos are never semi-bantu.
Cameroon as both Bantu and Bantoid groups. Like the Bamileke are Bantoid speaking, while the Fang andre Bantu speaking
Equatorial Guineans and Gabonese are fully fledged Bantu language speakers.

It seems you want to be Bantu or bantoid so soo bad. lol

Bantu or not, i don't think it is of any political economic and social value to Igbo people. It is not in their strategic interest as far as I know.

Though many Igbos find more commonalities with the people of southern Cameroon and central Africa than with some groups in Nigeria, even physical attributes.

Obiagu did not coin the word "semi bantu". It came from scholarly works of several international historians and linguists including G. I Jones. Igbos have long been mentioned as "semi Bantus", for whatever it means. My Congolese friends always reminds me that 'Ibos' of Nigeria are related to them. No surprise most of the African support for the Biafrans during the war came from Bantoid countries - Gabon, Zambia, Tanzania etc

If u study d map u pasted closely, Biafra as a territorial name was used to label a specific region which was entirely outside d present-day Nigeria. In brief, Biafra in d map was used to refer to a territory somwhere in present-day Cameroun, nd not even near Igboland.

Aigbofa:
Biafra is written on the present day Cameroon. The whole southern Nigeria designated as Benin.
Where exactly was the mythical Biafra?

The medieval Bight of Biafra encompassed the former Eastern Nigerian tribes and Igala, those of the southern Cameroons and Equatorial Guinea.
Bight of Benin had her own tribes that included much of the present Western Nigeria down into the Dahomey flank. Slaves were equally grouped along this nomenclature/regional identification.

in your shallow mind now only Igbos should be ruling so you will stop wailing ba? Was Jona a Fulani? Or are u indirectly saying the Igbos are slaves?
Nigeria runs a DEMOCRATIC system so anybody from any ethic group can rule at the center, it is a country having over 200 ethnic groups so you don't expect every group to be represented at the center but at the state and local Government level they are!

Behold an Abooki and his half smartness!

At "state and LGA levels" isn't it? I guess the cries of the loss of political power that came out from the north during the era of Obasanjo and GEJ was because they were "slaves"? Why didnt they call the bluff of the men from another ethnic background "administering" them from the center?

The Yorubas a few years ago, cried of being tired of the Hausa dominated marriage called Nigeria? Why did they make the noise when they had their "state and LGAs" under them?

Come on, the theme of the thread is whether those agitating for Biafra have the legitimate and legal backing of the UN's provision on "non autonomous region", and the answer to that is a resounding YES!

Yes, they are ethnically distinct. Yes, they have clearly delineated boundaries. Yes, they are culturally distinct as there is nothing like Nigeria-culture.

Running a "DEMOCRACY" does NOT FORECLOSE any constituent part (s) therein from seeking independence if she so wishes, and meets the criteria.

In their psyche everything is 1967, without realizing how far and fast the world order has evolved. One day and very soon Buhari or another feudal successor would wake up to hear the global community order him to consider asking the majority of this agitators on which side they really want to be. You see! that's why it's very important to carry all the constituent parts of a country along as equal stake holders. Most ethnicities in Nigeria automatically have qualified as "non autonomous" under Mr Moon's revelation. This is because they can proove ethnic distinctiveness, culture and in most cases with clear boundaries. Above all being LORDED over just by one ethnic group HAUSA FULANI.

They attend every major ohaneze meetings and don't have "AWA OYEL MENTALITY". if Igbos leave theis cesspit, I have no single doubt that they will join 100%. A massive sea-port will be built in opobo for big ships with a corresponding river port in ogbaku for smaller vessels.
Given the disposition of my Opobo friends, i'll agree with you guys that they are highly Igbocentric as the founder's family. The Jaja family is so much attached to their ancestral home in Amaigbo that i don't see them being against the dredging of that 3O miles stretch from the Azumini/Imo confluence to the estuary. As you rightly said, the best thing would be to have one facility directly built at the estuary (Opobo) and the other one upstream at Obuaku. This will finally remove Opobo from the rural map of Nigeria. A win win situation.

I see it as feasible cos the friendhip and blood relationship is there and steeped in a very rich history. It is equally cost effective visavis the river Niger. 30 nautical miles is achievable. Great.
