Notable voices in Igboland were thrown back by the shocking decaration of IPOB as a terrorist organization.

But gradually, they are coming to grips that such labeling of unarmed group as terrorists is a slap, denigration and humiliation of all South Easterners.

Is Kanu a perfect manager of Ipob, no. But is he and his followers terrorists, not at all.

Innoson Keeps Our Jets In Operation Against Boko Haram- Chief Of Air Staff

Nigeria’s Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar has lauded the management of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) Company for providing the needed technical support that has enabled the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to sustain its operations against the Boko Haram insurgents.

Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, Director of Public Relations and Information of Nigeria Air Force, said in a statement on Wednesday that the CAS gave the commendation while receiving the Chairman IVM, Mr Innocent Chukwuma and team members in his office.

The military chief had during the meeting noted that at a time when the NAF would have been forced to ground its entire fleet of Alpha Jets due to lack of brake assembly, IVM helped to locally modify and overhaul the brake assembly of the MB-339 aircraft for adoption on the Alpha Jets.

“This ingenious effort by IVM is instrumental to the continued operation of the Alpha Jets, and had helped to save the day when help was not forthcoming from abroad,” Abubakar was quoted as telling his guests.

Abubakar stated that the feat not only saved the country huge foreign exchange that otherwise would have been spent abroad but also added value to Nigeria through provision of job opportunities.

The Air Chief noted the contribution by IVM deserves national recognition and award, given the important role played by the Alpha Jet in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations in North-east Nigeria.

“The collaboration between the NAF and IVM is in line with one of the key drivers of the CAS vision which is “strategic partnership with ministries, departments and agencies for enhanced research and development,” said the CAS.

He added that beyond the feat, the NAF is poised to exploit the possibilities of mass producing the Alpha Jet break assembly and other parts locally through partnership with IVM, as well as other credible organisations, to build own capacity for enhanced self-reliance.

The invitation of IVM team to the Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, according to him, was for further discussions based on this premise.

He expressed the willingness by NAF to expand the scope of its existing research and development collaboration with IVM.

“Our partnership with IVM would not end with the Alpha jet break assembly but a leeway to forge new frontiers, through research and development, to replicate some of the spares needed by our platforms,” the CAS said.

In his response, the Chairman of IVM expressed the readiness of his company to partner with the NAF to help manufacture some of the spares needed to keep its aircraft operational locally.

Chukwuma noted that such synergy as existing between the NAF and IVM would help to reduce the dependence on foreign technology while promoting self-reliance, as well as technological and economic development.

He disclosed that his company has the expertise to locally manufacture and assemble a number of automobile products that would be of benefit to the NAF.

The same alpha jets that were grounded for over 20 years for lack of spare parts until the Awusa Fulani army begged Innoson motors to find a solution to it.

Innoson eventually put the alpha jets back in the sky. And now the shameless cowards are using the same jets to intimidate his people in their regional capital.

People of similar culture coalesce into a "nation"!

You can amalgamate a country politically just as Britain instructed Lugard to do, but a nation is formed through natural coalescence of similar cultures.

After every said and done. After all python dance, nations WILL emerge from what you now know as Nigeria.

Nigeria lacks the natural elements to metamophorse into a nation.

This is a cause and effect situation; youths venting their anger on the unprovoked killings of their kinsmen by a country's army dominatied by one ethnic group.

To compare a video of traumatized angry youths wielding sticks and the loads of videos where Hausa fulani SOLDIERS were killing unarmed civilians and dead bodies littering everywhere, is ignorance of the highest order.

ICC and the UN speaks and takes a stand only when there is a damning evidence. Therefore, those eyeing this type of weightless video viz ICC or UN should search harder next time. Until the Hausa Fulani government show evidence of Biafrans armed and killing people, the ICC and UN noose will continue to hang around them.

The Biafra war and the British support only masked the professional incompetence of people like buhari parading themselves as "Generals".

Just for the charisma of just one unarmed man, the bigoted coward called buhari ordered 10 armored vehicles to effect the custody of one man.

Biafra is really a nightmare to the Hausa fulani...Now I know.

They've got nothing to fear for. Eastern region's citizens are not savages like the northerners' kinsmen up north. Were Biafra to be in existence today, the Awusa man would be welcomed to apply for citizenship after a good background check. This is in most part because the average Igboman is forward thinking and has no fear of domination from any one.

Making noise a by a very vocal minority does not mean general consent or acceptance.

This is a democracy, you have your representatives at every level of this three tier governance. For instance, Local govt. State house of assembly, and the national assembly. Voted through a democratic process, however, not one elected official has made any act of wilful support for a referendum and or support for the secessionist Biafra agenda.

Does the possibility exist particularly to those who seem to be clouded by their obsessive support for IPOB that you may not have overwhelming support as you try to deceptively portray Use the democratic process let IPOB become a political party and see how many votes Kanu can muster.

The video shows some misguided persons throwing stones at an Otokar Cobra APC taking advantage of the very benign nature of the Army on this occasion. The video tells a story different from the rhetoric given by IPOB.

I do not see any acts of courage just overstated and misplaced exuberance that is more reflective of hooliganism. The Army has shown incredible restraint in times past there would be a bloodbath. But that restraint by the NA will not be Ad infinitum, so i would ask for caution. These acts of IPOB are not peaceful but are a acts of violence and lawlessness.

It is the other way round; the unprovoked killings of armless civilians and protesters by the Fulani jihadist Nigerian Army will definitely not be ad infinitum.

Why shouldnt they be benign when they have lost the moral and intellectual argument vis the right of the people to voice out their quest for freedom?

The power lies on the people, that's why the UK's representatives at the EU parliament had no say in the UK referendum.
Politics / Re: Why We Fired Warning Shots In Umuahia – Nigerian Army by Deltagiant: 1:23am On Sep 11, 2017
Why parading your armoured vehicles in a zero security risk area in the first place?

The use of arms must be to deal with a situation where the opposing side was armed.

One thing that has become obvious in the Ipob vs Buhari standoff is the courage and fearlessness in the face of death which the agitators have imbibed.

With pelting of stones at armored vehicles, the agitators have adorned a similar spirit as the Palestinians. Reminiscent of the Palestinian stone- throwing population Vs Israeli armored tanks.

And with this, i can bet you, more global interest would grow. And Nigeria will not escape that final verdict---Referendum.

This is anothrr failed plan Nigeria army don't need this because they should map out a good master plan and hit their target once and case close.

I repeat please Nigeria army next time wait for that goat called Kanu in any public gathering then go after him and he must not escape pick him up and he will be gone for a very long time or wait till he come to Abuja to answer his court case just make sure he never return home and let see if Nigeria will burn or UN will be stupid to declare war on Nigeria.

I'm from that region and I don't see this as attack on igbo it's an attack on Kanu and IPOOH they called for it and they must be fed with it. Breaking apart a country takes wisdom and good plan and not the way the idiot Kanu is going about it.

Where is Asari Dokubo I was thinking by now he should be in Abia with his own army after all he vowed to die for Kanu? Una never see any thing when a child says his or her parent will not sleep let the child too forget about sleeping. I don't care what happen to kanu or any IPOOH but for any innocent igbo that I won't support.

"Kanu and ipooh they called for it"? Please explain what is that they called for that they must be shot?

This should be a serious development, but the OP should provide more elements to validate this news.

Modified----Yes, the video confirms it!
This is unacceptable. Nothing can justify shooting unarmed people. It is shameful as it is cowardly.

The evidence against Buhari's army and the commanders continues to mount. There is the global legal rules of engagement which these men are violating. At the end of the day, those who rightly seek freedom would win. Historical precedent is on their side .

But I am confident that something must give way very soon by a brutal military intervention to clear the mess in the country after which Nigeria will break into pieces and by the time the current political actors are gone, they will never be remembered for good by their tribes and their generations will suffer for the crimes of their fathers.
We shall see.

There have been similar sittings and communique in the past. The conveners have always lacked the political vigor to pursue the objectives to a conclusive end. That said, this time, I would wish that the Yorubas would leverage on the current atmosphere created by Kanu to drive home this message once and for all.

The Yoruba nation should equally not fail to ignore OBJ and Tinubu as they tow this bravery path of honor and socio political justice for the good of their future generations.
