Again, the issue of Biafra refusing to die. The mother of Musa, Edith Okongwu, refused Gowon's hand in marriage owing to differing views about the ongoing war in 1967. Nearly 50 years after, again in the midst of Biafra controversy, Gowon finally acknowledges his Biafra era child. The spirit behind **** seemed to be strong...Perhaps more acknowledgements in the offing ![]() |
LMFashions:Here is the part of the clip which is not in yours where Okorocha asked asked the protester in Igbo - 'do u know who I am' and the man fired back, 'who are you' and then quickly added- 'yes, I know u...you're a murderer!' Fadekebisola:People like you are the reason why black Africa is still a dumb continent because you don't know the essence of your own being. World leaders greater than the thief of Imo state have one time or the other been humiliated in the public by their people for one political issue or the other important to them. It is acceptable. Former Chancellor of Germany, Helmut Kohl, pelted with eggs by angry Germans. Former US president receives a pair of shoe thrown at him Buhari faced the same fate on February at the Kensington Hotel lounge in London. IPOB youths were quietly led out of the hotel by the British police.

In the words of Nnamdi Kanu; for the 'Zoo Police'. |
Breach of work ethics...But again, this is black Africa synonymous with stupi.d emotions & arrested development. |

Coward is the most demeaning thing a soldier...A general of the army for that matter could be labelled. Worse still from a very prominent Yoruba family - Ransome-Kuti. I could recall the story of Brigadier General Babafemi Ogundipe who rather than take over from Major General Ironsi, fled to England, and died soon after in England like a fowl. All for the fear of subordinates like T.Y Danjuma, Hassan Katsina, Shuwa, Murtala Muhammed and their likes from the North. As a bloody civilian, I have a favorable opinion about Obasanjo's military carrier. But one of those in the know, Gen. Alabi Isama, of Ilorin, believes OBJ was a "coward and of low IQ". Citing his lack of bravery and what transpired when OBJ was shot in the buttocks while fearfully retreating from the battle front. Then, a Lt. Gen. Oladipo Diya, kneeling and crying for his life to be saved. Nigerians have really bastardized military ranking. Soldiering is not a cup of tea. No matter the atmosphere of peace in your country at the time of enlisting in the force, bear in mind that it could rapidly deteriorate to a war situation. There and then, you will be frontally faced with the possibility of imminent death. People who are thinking of using 'long leg' and/or using their prominent family names to get into NDA should ask themselves serious questions. Cos the day of reckoning would surely come. |

superstar1:The news merely confirmed how nervous and out of wits Nigeria is... Cos whatever IPOB did to get to the level of Buhari going to procure weapons in secret was not through military means. He may well end up with guns in hand seeing his captives freed. Even though guns are not the exclusive preserve of Britain. |
There is no empire that lasted forever. Where is Egypt, Rome, Othoman empires etc.? You can't kill your way to "unity" or cage a people against their will It is only love, respect, economic and socio political justice that can guarantee a virile and long lasting political Union. And that's why Britain continues to reaffirm the state of their Union through constant referendum. And even allowing Radio Biafra to broadcast from London. |
Interesting. First of all, Joe Nworgu and his minion, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, denied two days ago that any meeting took place.at Nike Hotels with Americans. Now, they're admitting that a meeting took place at Nike Hotels with the American consul general bothering on "IGBO PERCEPTION OF NIGERIA" Just look at the idi.iot with his half smartness. Okay, what did he tell the visitors about the so called Igbo perception of Nigeria? He told them that Ndigbo had no real problem in Nigeria, that their headache is only lack of "good roads". You see what I mean. Then, in other to dignify themselves from their shameful act, Joe Nworgu attempts to trivialize his ignoble act by sensationalizing it. In this way, saying that Igbo youths/Radio Biafra are claiming that UN came to recognize Biafra. Mr. Nworgu, Igbo youths are well informed than you are. On the other hand, Radio Biafra never said such a thing. The fact remains that the consul general came with the visiting American delegation on a fact finding mission concerning the world wide protests of IPOB (" Igbo perception of Nigeria" ). But you and your gang of thieves misinformed them and consequently was rewarded by Buhari foot soldiers. Conversely, even a public apology will not save u from this. |
POPE GREETS PRO-BIAFRA ACTIVISTS AT THE VATICAN DURING ANGELUS PRAYER BY CONOR GAFFEY ON 2/29/16 AT 1:05 PM Pro-Biafra activists wave flags in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican, February 28. Pope Francis greeted spoke of the activists as indigenous peoples of Biafra during his Angelus address. VINCENZO PINTO/AFP/GETTY IMAGES Pope Francis greeted a group of activists from the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) group, who are campaigning for secession from Nigeria, after they gathered at the Vatican on Sunday. IPOB is led by Nnamdi Kanu, a U.K.-Nigerian dual citizen who is currently detained in Nigeria, facing trial for treasonable felony. Kanu is the director of Radio Biafra, an underground media outlet that broadcasts material in favour of an independent state of Biafra in southeast Nigeria. Nigerian military officer Odumegwu Ojukwu declared Biafran independence in 1967, sparking a three-year civil war that resulted in more than one million deaths and ended in 1970 with Biafra being reintegrated into Nigeria. Agitation for a separate state of Biafra has been rejected by the Nigerian government, with President Muhammadu Buhari affirming that the West African country is “one indivisible entity.” Subscribe now - Free phone/tablet charger worth over $60 During his weekly Angelus address—where the Pope addresses crowds of pilgrims gathered in St. Peter’s Square from the balcony of the Apostolic Palace—Francis extended a word of welcome to the indigenous people of Biafra. The Pope’s statement was greeted with cheers and celebration by the Biafran group, who were waving flags during the address. The Pope traditionally greets travelling groups of pilgrims during his weekly addresses and the Vatican has not publicly commented on the Pope’s position on Biafran agitation for secession. Nigeria opened an embassy to the Holy See in August 2012 but diplomatic relations go back to 1976 and were conducted through Nigeria’s embassy in Spain prior to 2012. Kanu’s trial is due to commence in the Nigerian capital Abuja on March 7. The charges against the activist, who is based in London, carry a potential life sentence. During its three-year existence, the majority population of Biafra was made up of members of the Igbo ethnic group. When Britain declared the united state of Nigeria in 1914, Igbos in the east and southeast were joined together with members of the Hausa and Yoruba ethnic groups in the north and west respectively. Igbos are largely Christian while the Hausa are mainly Muslim. Wow! He saw his tomorrow very clearly. What a miss by Chief Odutola, a glory that would have transcended his lineage among the Yoruba, giving what Awo became to them. Fast forward: I was thrilled by his English giving the fact he didn't attend formal secondary school. Hardly you come across a Nigerian university graduate of today who could write as good as Awo did at 34. So honest. Again, morally, his types have depleted or not even in existence any more. I have my reservations for his role in the civil war, all the same, I respect him. |
This news is supposed not to be on FP Cos this trick is a killer any time any where. The implication is that some here would rehearse and carry it out. |
The Daura dulllard rode on the social media castigation of Jonathan to gain power, and now that he is living the reality of social media, he wants it out of the way. Of course, this is the typical thinking of a feudalistic Fulani hegemonist. One funny thing about their Buhari is his dogged believe that the "strong khaki days" of the 70/80s could be re-enacted in the age of information super highway. Not even 1 million Daura dulllards can stop the global social media train. It was Harry Truman who once said, "get out of the kitchen if u can't stand the heat" |
Kanu has always reminded Ndigbo of this generation of how Igbo slaves in America were known to commit suicide than continuing in slavery. And has always urged them to invoke that spirit in this difficult time. |
Obi chukwuka, I will advice that u look at your plan once again. Queen Elizabeth of England became Queen of England at about your age. And never abdicated her duties for one day even till date. You have elected to be the king of Ubulu uku and shouldn't trade it off temporary for a course that might take another ten years to complete. Stay back home and continue this course near home at a Delta state or Anambra state university. It is a small price to pay for your people. More over, how are u sure your uncle... |
That is a photograph of fate. It has never happened this way, at least I have not seen one. The man standing I believe is Arap Moi and not Mwai Kibaki |
What Goodluck did for SEners and why they like him is more psychological than infrastructural. 1) During his campaign, he made Nigerians understood you could identify as Igbo and still be electable as president. This is what an Igbo, Odili, was afraid to do months before he Goodluck was thrown up. 2) Since after the war, the Igbo man was avoided like a leper from taking commanding position in the military. He ended it in a big way by appointing two Igbo at the same time to head the army and the Navy. The one in the army now has the record as the longest serving Army Chief (COAS) in Nigeria. He did exceptionally well in Boko Haram fight even as he took the credit of introducing the first indigenous Armoured personal carrier, Igirigi, to the force. 3) Goodluck recognised Ojukwu more than others before him. He commissioned a statue of the man with his military uniform and his favorite Browning assault rifle strapped to his back. Named an important road after him. Equally gave him a state burial, made sure he invited another head of state to accompany him to Nnewi for the burial ceremony. 4) He lifted the post war air blockade of the SE to the world by gazzetting Enugu airport as International and made sure that a foreign airline landed DIRECTLY there before he left office. 5) He introduced Innoson technology into the realms of the Nigerian military apparatchik, Air force included. 6)Among other things not mentioned. He has BIG, non pretentious respect for Ndigbo and it was FULLY returned to him. |
betterABIAstate:Don't waste your time arguing frivolities. The second largest port and second busiest in Europe is the port of Hamburg in Germany. Popularly known as the "German gateway to the world". It is 110 km to the sea, designated as " German seaport". And here you have time to argue with them over a distance of 23 nautical miles. . https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_of_Hamburg |
While Ikpeazu holds to this noble vision, It would be nice he engage in a wide consultation with SE stake holders at home and in diaspora. Igbos in diaspora are very keen about an Obuaku port and are ready to support. This is a capital intensive project of which a Build-Operate-Transfer arrangement could also be helpful. Ikpeazu should also consult his kinsman at the estuary, King Dandeson, Jaja of Opobo. This port site is nearer to the ocean than PH. The oldest commercial sea route in Eastern region. King Jaja was actually arrested on this route. That said, how do we ascertain that the clearing of the road was for port construction and not to facilitate tourism at the blue river? |
Nothing really was said about Buhari's capacity to THINK. A deeper thinker is what Nigeria need now above/ among other qualities. I doubt if the man is endowed with it. |
Balarabe, sorry, Buhari is so full of his empty self. |
Embarrassing to the poor player. Go check the kind of things his parents says about blacks at home. The kids carry it out in the open, becoming uncomfortable and terrified when they accidentally find themselves in an inevitable situation such as this. |
ogmaskman:Hey, where is the propaganda? You haven't said anything different from mine. The message behind my post is the fact that some elements have taken advantage of Kanu's arrest and the consequent uncertainty to engage in impersonation for selfish gains. High profile visitors do usually pay courtesy calls to organs of a foreign government they visit first. Even though their mission might not be connected to conventional administrative issues. In this case, the state governments of the Eastern region have not been assertive(at least in the open) for Biafra restoration. Therefore, questions that a visiting delegation might want to ask the government concerning ethnic issues would be naturally handled by tribal organisations they the government control. A part of the delegation in question visited the Anambra governor same day. This governor is well known to not be in the good books of IPOB. However, that said, the Biafra matter is no longer a hidden one. It is now global. https://www.nairaland.com/2956964/us-govt-lauds-obiano-security |
Not true, IPOB through their global Radio Broadcast last night labelled the Ohaneze spokes boy, Isiguzoro, persona non grata. It was further revealed that 34 year old Isiguzoro, a native of Umuahia for that matter, is not even a member of IPOB. We also learnt he and one old rag called Chief Joe Nworgu presented themselves as IPOB executives and hijacked the visiting Americans who came to ascertain the true situation. The result of three months of intense bombardment of US lawmakers with telephone calls by IPOB worldwide. And in return, they were rewarded handsomely with some amount of money by the FG agents. We also learnt that all calls put to Isiguzoro were not picked. He has switched off his phone and went into hiding. This is what is currently happening. Terrible impersonation and sabotage. |
pulsa:I am surprise Yorubas are displaying this sort of forceful "attachment" and "grab" attitude to a tribe that was formed just 400 hundred years ago? This is what Itshekiri nation had to say about their origin: "History of Itsekiri The Itsekiri are a peculiar and unique people in the Nigerian Niger delta. They have inhabited their homeland, which now constitutes the three Warri Local Government Areas of Delta State, Nigeria, for centuries. The Itsekiri have rich traditional and cultural practices. Itsekiri modern history dates from the late fifteenth century when the Itsekiri people adopted a prince from Benin Kingdom as their monarch. Prior to this time, Itsekiri lived independently in different communities that included Irigbo, Ureju, Omadino and Ugborodo. With the arrival of the prince and adoption of the monarchy. These communities coalesced to become a Kingdom. The current monarch is Ogiame Atuwatse II, who was crowned at an impressive ceremony in 1987. History reveals that in several waves of migration before the 15th Century, and some a little later, groups from Igala in Nupe country came in through the creeks; Yoruba from ljebu-Ode, Akure and Owo found their way into parts of the Kingdom and a group from Aboh (Igbo) also came in. Some along the coast came in through Gulani/Amatu." http://itsekiricanada.com/iwere_history.php This wholesale acquiescence without recognizing other variables should stop already. |
At least, Wike had the balls to verbally rebuke the gun wielding almajiris in uniform, something Obiano and Ikpeazu couldn't do in the face of a similar slaughter of innocent people in their States where they are the CSO respectively. |
That is one thing I'm yet to understand about Islam; unlike in Christianity, most Muslims pray with their eyes looking distracted. Christians wears the look of deep meditation conversely. Take a good look at the picture. And at each an everyone of them. They appear to be saying hey look at me and/or carried away by something other than what they should be doing. Third picture of page0. |
