“As a leader, two things you must cherish and hold dear among others are trust and honour both of which are important ingredients of character. I will want to see anyone in the Office of the Presidency of Nigeria as a man or woman who can be trusted, a person of honour in his words and character.”

The former President said Mr. Jonathan told him before the 2011 election he would not seek a second term, and made the same promise to governors, party stakeholders and Nigerians.
The president’s refusal to keep that promise cast him as a man without honour, Mr. Obasanjo said.

Good development for ASUU. Now that there is no futile treat on their jobs, won't expect them to hurriedly go back to classes till they are well convinced that what the govt said is what it is. Also, they should make sure their held salaries are paid. |

plaindealer: Sanusi is basically dishing out to the public Jonathan's dirty laundry. This is huge and more about GEJ himself than the Oil minister... Sanusi most likely would have discussed these issues verbally with Jonathan, Ngozi and madueke but decided to put it down in writing for posterity sake since no favourable response came from them. His tenure is almost over, at least this is on record.

berem: Did they protest towards the Government house? Was there any government top official who gave them audience? Govt house is far away from there. Their aim was to disrupt economic activities within this region which will affect FG income. Primarily, they blocked the way going to Onne. Refinery and petrochemical is also within this area. Am not aware of any audience from govt, what I saw though were Soldiers shooting. Obviously their C-in-C sent them |

berem: Yes,the protest has nothing to do with Rivers politic but don't you think its gonna affect it despite their hatred for Jonathan? I drove towards the protesters before withdrawing to go face my business when useless soldiers began to shoot. This didn't deter the protesters though. They are still there. They kept saying that if Jonathan, a ss man won't implement the report, is it an Aboki that will come and implement it. Ogoni people are currently angry with retardeen. Unep has nothing to do with Amaechi or APC. They may work against Jonathan if this stance remain. This will surely favour Amaechi |

He refused to implement the UNEP report now that a Niger Deltan is President so for them its better if a Northerner or any other person is President than a clueless cow that thinks of only his stomach. u spoke well. |

kokoA: This getting interesting.. Since Rivers became an opposition state, the seat of government has not known peace. I hope "porhacourt issues" will not become part of the numerous wahalas oga Jona would have to battle with in the final days of his administration. ASUU, BH, House of rep, G7, etc plus porthacourt issues.. Bad combination. This ongoing protest has nothing to do with local Rivers politics. its strictly about the refusal of Jonathan to commence the implementation of the UNEP report. |

mooregan: And not saying u should please me, but I'm just saying d truth.
U aren't saying any truth but ur opinion which is skewed. U expect me to be sensitive to u based on ur previous comment.
" That makes me not to take u serious"
Don't give a damn what u think or Desire.
Which group started d name calling?
The group that called obj gorilla and no one raised any eyebrow. The same called yaradua, goslow. The same current calling leaders like buhari, aregbesola, tinubu etc names. Is Jonathan better than these ones? Why single him out.
Which groups are fond of starting it on each thread?
Does this even matter. The bottom line is there is an acceptable trend. U should praise me for being loyal to that.
The president is not perfect,
No one expects him to. He is human.
but as Long as you see NOTHING good he has done, then let's 4get it, u r as biased as the other pple u accuse of being biased on this Forum.
Where were u when I praised Jonathan when power improved significantly when Barth was around? Where were u when I praised the cassava bread policy? Current work going on east west road though slow . U have no point and absolutely no basis for what u are saying but I however understand ur plight. Is just that much more negative news as regards this government overshadow the limited good. When I see something good from Jonathan, I will praise him and knock him off if otherwise. Deal with that.
Just a bitter truth.
Says what ur skewed brain tells u. |

Insult is not criticism sir. Sir, am not here to excite u neither am i here to make u jerk off. Taking me serious or not is none of my business and least of my concern. I say whatever i want to say however i deem fit. Ur opinion matter less to me. Jonathan he remains as long as other better leaders are being called names right on this forum. |

A-ZeD: GEJ was part of the government that failed to honour the 2009 agreement. Why should he be trusted to honour an agreement now?
As for the lie, You make it out as if ASUU is on strike because GEJ is president. Lets even deliberately ignore the 2009 agreement. what about the 2012 MOU? i guess it wasnt Jonathan that signed it right.
The op is high on kai-kai. |
Politics › Re: Goodluck Jonathan: The Many Battles Of A President From Minority Tribe by Demdem(m): 7:18am On Dec 09, 2013 |
A-ZeD: No matter how many times you scream a lie, it would never become the truth.
1) Boko haram started in Yar' Adua's time. Its unfortunate Goodluck has to deal with them but no one forced him to be president. He made that decision on his own. He should 'man up' and stop lamenting. 2) Everywhere there has been a terrorist attack, the leaders in those places talk tough and promise to fish out the perpetrators but own so called president told the nation to deal with it that it happens in other places too. 3) The same president with his own mouth said members of boko haram are part of his government and what has he done to them? 4) Gej problem with the 7 governors is a pdp wahala and Gej can fight it any how he wants legally, its not the Nations problem. 5) Gej problem with the 7 governors arouse from his greed. ***In 2007, the presidency was zoned to the north and they did not use their tenure complete before Gej interrupted. He chose to abandon the pdp zoning formula in 2011 and he should bear the consequence. 6) In 2003, ASUU went on strike for 6 months. OBJ did not claim it was political. As a matter of fact, every Nigerian president has dealt with ASUU one way or another with Abdusalami being the only exception so what are you shouting about? 7) If you are crying that its only GEJ that ASUU wants to release money before they resume, then you should remember that it was GEJ who brokered the 2009 agreement in which they are fighting for. If GEJ has refused to honour an agreement he was part of in 2009, why should anybody trust he would honour the one he does in 2013? The saying "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" aptly applies to this scenario.
In summary, leaders lead so GEJ should start leading and so buck passing.
** I abhor any form of zoning agreement. Well said. |
