My advice is that every document your employer provides you with should be stamped and/or signed: the 12 months pay-slips, employer letter, P60 etc.

romeoandjuliet:
Hello Benz101 congrats on your successful application. Please did your employer had to stamp all your 12months pay slip that you submitted? Cos I only ask my employer to stamp 6months and also a letter. Thank you while I wait for your reply.
TravelRe: Applying For FLR After Your Initial UK Spouse Visa (extension) by Demoore(m): 7:16am On Oct 01, 2019
Hi Tosine, you are eligible to apply for an extension 28 days to the expiry of your current visa. Count 28 days backwards from the expiry date on your BRP to confirm date from which you will be eligible to apply for your extension.

Hope this helps.

All the best.

Hi everyone.

My spousal visa expires and of January. When is the best time to start applying and book for appointment considering the holidays in December. Thanks

Birds of same feather. Why are they crying foul? We youths don’t give a rat’s ass about either buari or atikwu.

It’s just painful that our force and military service heads are now into peasant politics. Revolution or peaceful protest is almost impossible sad

[/color]
Atiku and Buhari are two different individuals, so could you please stop lumping them together like siamese twins which they are not?

I personally would prefer an Atiku Presidency to a lethargic incompetent Buhari Presidency.

Very insecure press release from APC. Seems the drums of #AtikuIsComing is giving them sleepless nights.

If Buhari was behaving like a competent President he wouldn't need to bother with Atiku's activities. An unsavoury sight to witness a sitting President, though with an alleged illegitimate mandate, being rattled by Twitter and Facebook posts of a former Vice President.

Well, you know nothing about government, rule of law, and the sovereignty of a state.
No sane government will allow anybody to keep releasing press statement on national issue.

You can't try that with Trump.
It's social media (Twitter and Facebook) posts, not press release. Atiku signed off his tweet congratulating Boris Johnson as new PM with his initials AA, and not as President of Nigeria. So I really don't see what the problem is.

Everyone should have freedom to post on social media in a Democracy without fear. This intimidation by Buhari and APC stands condemned and will not be condoned.

Hi Abubarakat,

I recall you travelled a few weeks before me in January 2017. You should be prepping for your renewal now.

I look forward to reading your successful extension here.

All the best and goodluck!

You must have submitted your MSc certificate as part of your supporting documents in 2016. It's a requirement and many people get refused because of it.

Hi everyone,
My BRP card came today
I used exactly the list of documents phardey and newbie posted, I didn’t add anything extra. So thank you ladies for making this entire process stress free for me!❤️ However I didn’t include my children passports cos we haven’t gotten it for them and I explained that in the application.

So here is my timeline,

Application Type : FLR(M) - 2nd extension
Application Posted on: 03 Nov18
Postal or In Person Application: Postal
Documents received by HO: 06 Nov 18
Payment taken: 08 Nov 18
Application deferred for further checks (in person app): N/A
Acknowledgement and Biometric enrolment Letter Received: 20 Nov 18 dated 16 Nov 18
Biometrics Enrolled on: 18 Nov 18
Text from a delivery company called DX delivery stating my BRP card will be delivered today 11th Dec 2018 at around 9am; I was so anxious had to call my boss am running late
Biometric card recieved today, date of decision was 5th of November 2018.

Still waiting for my documents to come in. I am so excited, the whole process took about 5 weeks.

Good luck to everyone!
Congratulations Carphy!

How much did the application cost you?

God has done it!!! This God is too much. Just picked up my passport and the entry clearance/visa in there *dancing******

After everything he has done it for me and He will do for those waiting as well. Below is my timeline:

Type of application: Settlement(wife) but I put in Settlement marriage(mistake)- Priority
Application Submitted: 28 September 2017
Biometrics: October 4, 2017
Sent for Decision : October 4, 2017
Application received by UK Immigration: October 5, 2017
Supporting Documents sent to Sheffield: October 10, 2017
After coming across this topic on Nairaland, I realized the mistake I made in my application by choosing Settlement-marriage instead of Settlement-Wife and it was already too late for another application.
Wrote them a letter explaining the error and asking them for the IHS link : October 24,2017
Surprisingly got a an email requesting for payment for the IHS : November 22, 2017 (I leaped for joy)
Decision made email : December 1, 2017
Collection Email: December 4, 2017
Picked up : Today, Dec 5, 2017

Thank you to everyone that shared their experiences and everyone in the house. So excited!!!!

Baba God, Thank You.

P.s. I thought paying for Priority would mean faster process but all the same I’m happy.
Congrats GodandVal!!! I’m extremely excited and happy for you.

It’s very nice to know that HO were kind enough to grant you settlement-Wife visa inspite of completing the settlement-marriage application form.

I was particularly looking out for your visa decision.

Paying for priority means faster process. I used priority and may application took about 1 month, as against 4 months for normal applications. I think yours had a slight delay due to the error. All the same I’m sure a positive decision trumps the extra few weeks wait time.

The wait must have been excruciating. Welcome to the UK.

Cheers

Hello Everyone,
My husband's application got refused due to English test. I can't believe it.
He wrote the test at the approved center in Ikeja and scored an overall of 8.0 but they said it is a general training training certificate.

Please what are my options? reapplying?
How can I ensure he takes the right one this time?

Thank you
I would advise your husband takes the right English Test ''You can prove your knowledge of English by passing an approved English language test with at least a CEFR level A1 in speaking and listening.'', then reapply. See here: https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/knowledge-of-english

You know when applying for settlement/spousal visa, you are to select the sub category,I selected marriage but the lawyer said it was wife I was supposed to select.

I paid over 2000 dollars and the the documents were those required for spousal visa.... his utility bill etc pictures of us, tuberculosis test, appendix 2 etc
Demoore:
Greetings house,
I just picked up my passport and visa this morning 10:45am!!! It has been a real journey for me and I give thanks to God that it has ended well.

I sincerely wish I had found out about this thread before embarking on this spouse visa application project. Initially, I had mistakenly submitted 'settlement-marriage' instead of 'settlement-husband' application in my first attempt. On realizing I submitted the wrong application, I quickly cancelled and recalled the application on same day. But the visa fee of over £1,200 which I paid went with the wind since I had already submitted my biometrics. There was no refund for me cry It felt like the ground should open up and swallow me...over N650k (£1,200) lost in this our recession! I have not fully recovered from that loss to be honest.

I picked myself up and started again. This time I applied with the right application: settlement-husband, and I also paid for priority. Unfortunately, it was only after submitting my 2nd application that I found out about this thread and realized that my 2nd application was not as strong as I could have made it. But the Lord did it for me all the same.

Visa granted since 8th Jan 2017 (I didn't know they stamp visas on Sundays)

I will post my visa timeline shortly.

You guys should keep up the good work of providing UK visa information on this thread. God bless you all abundantly!
I had the same issue. I was also advised to write Home Office (HO) to inform them of the oversight. But knowing how easy it is for HO to reject applications, I decided to cancel my application of settlement-marriage and reapply using the right category of settlement-husband. Money down the drain. Settlement-marriage is for applicants, who are not yet married, but are seeking to get married in the UK. With the settlement-marriage visa one is NOT eligible to work and is granted for a period of 6 months (as compared to 33 months for settlement-husband/wife).

I decided to recall/cancel my settlement-marriage application about 1 hour after I had sent it off. I was still at the visa application center when I realized I had made a mistake. I went down stairs to pay for the IHS payment via these visa agents in side shops, only for one of them to inform me I made the wrong application and that I should cancel to avoid the risk of my application being rejected.

My husband has just received the supporting documents. There isn't an email from TLS yet but I suspected that the documents would be sent back before the email from TLS came, because that was what happened with demoore (whose timeline and posts I have been avidly following). They sent back almost all the documents, including the ones we had expected they would keep. What does that meanhuh Could it be a sign of bad news? I am freaking out here. Please someone help: what did they send back?
Glad I could be of some assistance in this journey. Congrats on the visa!

Good luck to all the applicants awaiting Home Office decision.

The wait can be excruciatingly lengthy and painful, but as long as you load them with all the required documents, you have nothing to fear.

Just relax and wait to pick up your visa. You will be with your honey very soon.

Good luck guys!

Hello Everybody.

Been a while. Hope everybody is well. I can see new faces and a few same gurus. Everybody applying don't stress nor have high B, as long as it's genuine and appllication is FULLY loaded then UK can't stop your love.

Can one of the gurus direct me to the right forum or help with this question.

My wife has a spousal visa and we want to go to Italy in September. What is the process to apply?

Thanks in advance
Greetings everybody, hi Darcy,

Long time. You wife should apply for Italian visa with the required documentation.

I don't see any problem there. It has to be a short trip though so it doesn't affect her chances when applying for spousal visa extension.

For my documents (applicant), TLS scanned and then returned all my originals to me. The only 3 original documents they took from me was my passport, application printout and the appendix form.
