I don't think a marriage license is issued in a traditional marriage hence the need in some cases to either do a court wedding and/or church wedding. In a church wedding, after the I do part, they groom and bride go inside to sign the marriage license / certificate.
Officially, in a lot of cases, if you do only the trads, you might be left hanging in some legal circumstances.

lots of folks come here and start bashing naija men, women and customs. Mostly by naija folks who have gone abroad and feel everything foreign is better than what we have. It gets to a point that is annoying. Your post rubbed off on me the wrong way. I apologise if I went overboard. Truce?

People here say Nigerians are fraudsters, does that make it true and applicable to all Nigerians?
People say all Nigerian men cheat. Does tht make it true for all Nigerians?
They say Nigerian men have big dycks and are good in bed, does that make it true for all Nigerians?
They say our Nigerian women are all gold diggers and prostitutes. Do you think that applies to all women including your gf, sisters, mothers?

Stop bothering about generalisations and start focusing on the individual.

And another opens her mouth to criticize the marital system in Nigeria probably cos she is somewhere in the western world.
It's not a must to have two weddings. If you want, you can have only the church one, its your call but don't go criticizing people who are just happy to celebrate their union.

If you are complaining about people who do two or three marriage ( 2-3 days) celebrabrations, what would you say about some indians and some parts of Asia where the marriage ceremony lasts 7 days?

Do as you want or please but don't look down at others who do as they wish. You are the one who is confused on who you are.

You don't even have to marry to start bearing your partner's name. Just do a name change and add a Mrs prefix to your name.

Im not one for shopping. It was from wearing the wrong shoes,(dont shop in heels!), not from shopping for them.

I dont know what club you went to with so many black people. Im new to the club experience but its fun to check it out sometimes. How long have you been in SK? Ive never been there. Ive heard good things about Saskatoon.
I`ve been in SK for 8 yrs now. Saskatoon has the warmest and friendliest people in the whole of Canada. No kidding. Simple city and you won`t have to drive to work for an hour. If you are used to the Albertan life, it might seem like a village at first, but you can always feel the warmth in the air. I lived there for 7 years and I still go back every weekend. The only downside is the -40 winters . The summers can be close to +40 so you are usually in for a rollercoaster weather there.

I have a soccer game in an hour so I have to go now. We should catch up later. cheers.
