IslamRe: The Significance Of Eid Ul Kabir by deols(f): 4:07pm On Oct 11, 2013
that does it then. thank you

tbaba1234: I. Surah al kauthar has nothing to do with eid ul adha. It was revealed after the prophet lost his son Qassim. It is totally unrelated.

Ii. Eid ul adha marks the end of the hajj season. The activities of the hajj are a fulfillment of the dua of Ibrahim.

We showed Abraham the site of the House, saying, ‘Do not assign partners to Me. Purify My House for those who circle around it, those who stand to pray, and those who bow and prostrate themselves. Proclaim the Pilgrimage to all people. They will come to you on foot and on every kind of swift mount, emerging from every deep mountain pass to attain benefits and celebrate God’s name, on specified days, over the livestock He has provided for them––feed yourselves and the poor and unfortunate Surah 22 : 26-27

The whole activities of the hajj are modelled after his life. The run from safa and marwa (hagar's struggle to find water for her child), the sacrifice of the lamb (Abraham's sacrifice of his son), the stoning of the pillars (the place where Abraham was tempted)..everything is about events in his life and the rites given to him. Even the ancient arabs did hajj even though they had corrupted some practises.

I am surprised that this has to be explained because this whole period is about reflecting on his sacrifices.

I'd write a thread about this soon.

And I should have posted this verse of the Quran so so long ago--

“And among His signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that ye may dwell in tranquility with them, and He has put Love and mercy between your (hearts), verily in that are signs for those who reflect.”

maclatunji: Actually, the onus is on you to prove it wrong.
When you say that something is in Islam, it is for you to prove right.

when you say that something is forbidden, it is for you to prove right.

You can't ask me to prove that something is not in Islam from the books of Islam.

The prophet could not have said, 'In case people claim that killing a ram is because prophet Ibrahim did it, prove them wrong that it isnt'

But he could have said that

'this sacrifice is because P. Ibrahim did it. So, to prove it is yours to do.

and btw, it sounds somehow to post things you don't know about/ agree with and to keep arguing without a single proof is worse.

Well, this is my last post on this. At least until the message is proven right.
IslamRe: The Significance Of Eid Ul Kabir by deols(f): 1:21pm On Oct 11, 2013
tbaba1234: The hajj and eid ul adha are all related to the life of Ibrahim ( alayhi Salam).

I am surprised to read this comment.
I expect many people to say that. But give the proof that the prophet says that the sacrifice is in commemoration of what prophet Ibrahim did.

You do know how the Qur'an is interpreted.

Qur'an with the qur'an

or the qur'an with an hadith.

when it is proven, I'll just accept.

#verysimple.
IslamRe: The Significance Of Eid Ul Kabir by deols(f): 1:18pm On Oct 11, 2013
I already made my point. Post the proof you have on here. If it was not a matter of misinforming others, I would not have posted a comment.

Even if someone says it on a site, they will have to show their proof from the tafsir or hadith. without that, they are wrong.

Why would a site matter when anybody can have a blog and post on it.

I have made my point and that would be it.
IslamRe: The Significance Of Eid Ul Kabir by deols(f): 1:04pm On Oct 11, 2013
Sharing something on Islam that you can not defend nor ready to take corrections for is not a good thing. You have hidden many threads on the same premise.

Anyone who gets misinformed through it, you will get the sins for.

In your shoes, I'd have the post hidden. I only played my part as a Muslim to point the errors.

You can go ahead as you wish.
IslamRe: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by deols(op): 12:51pm On Oct 11, 2013
tbaba1234: ^ B, More is better if possible but both scenarios are workable. People fall in love in the course of a marriage or at least like each other enough to stay married.

But i'd argue that a lack of respect is less workable because if a man does not respect women, he is not going to develop it because he is married. If you had taken away respect then you have only one workable scenario.
ok.

Why the need to add the second paragraph?
IslamRe: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by deols(op): 12:45pm On Oct 11, 2013
and the summary of tbaba's argument with me on love(well, as I see it) is

deols: Love is C

tbaba: love is not D

deols: I didn't say love is D

......
this goes on for a while
.........

tbaba: love is sha not D and in some cases marriage is E, F, G

deols: I did not say that it can not be E F G, but even when EFG it is better with C included.
.........

tbaba : an example of marriage is Z..note that D is not involved.

deols : why Z..well, it can be Z but it is better with C and I did not say that D is involved. In fact, Z with C is better than Z alone.

tbaba: I just want to say that C is not everything.

deols: I did not say that C is everything. I mean that C is a good one to go with E F G and even Z
.......

grin grin grin grin

IslamRe: Guide On How To Slaughter Your Ram On Eid Il Adha by deols(f): 12:21pm On Oct 11, 2013
The verses only narrated prophet Ibrahim's ordeal. They do not prove that his sacrifice is the same as the one we carry out.
IslamRe: The Significance Of Eid Ul Kabir by deols(f): 12:20pm On Oct 11, 2013
There is no proof from tafsir nor ahadith of the prophet relating the sacrifice of prophet Ibrahim(A.S) to the one we carry out at eid period. If you have the proof, do provide it. If not, this is wrong and a misinformation.

and the right nomenclature is Eid ul Adha and not eid ul Kabir.

The command to sacrifice is in suratul Kawthar(108) : 2

and it says nothing in relation with prophet Ibrahim's sacrifice.

How is it better exactly?? Is it better to live with a man who you love that abuses you (note that he loves you too) or a man who treats you like a queen but you do not love?
I dont need a man that I dont love(whom I definitely won't be married to), to treat me like a queen.

and one of the reasons that I will love someone is his capability and willingness to treat me right.

tbaba1234: ^I am just trying to dispel the myth that a emotional attraction to a person is all, it takes for a happy home. It is just one piece of the puzzle.

How is better exactly?? Is it better to live with a man who you love that abuses you (note that he loves you too) or a man who treats you like a queen but you do not love?
about the first paragraph, this must be my millionth time of saying it. Maybe you know some people who believe in such a myth. But when I talk about love, here it is not about that myth.
Can you argue against love without that myth involved, please and then maybe we can move on.

I have even said it here that I could leave somebody and seek love elsewhere.

I still dont get how it has to be defined in your context of mythology. No, again, Love is not all thst marriage is about. There is more. But in my case, love is going to be a strong foundation without which marriage will not happen.

and about your second paragraph, a man I love will not abuse me. I can not love a man who abuses anybody. So again, your definition of love is probably faulted. There are many mentally challenged people all over the place. You don't come and use their scenario to judge the lives of reasonable pple.

still you seem to have so many bad ideas of people in love. .

I wonder why
IslamRe: Can A Muslim Work In An Interest-seeking Bank by deols(f): 10:36am On Oct 11, 2013
Built2last: I intend to write an article in the nearest future titled "The hypocrisy of Islam" here's why. If you travel up north they preach sharia by mouth but their actions are contrary. They ban alcohol and forbid anywhere it is sold but nobody drinks it like them.

On a larger scale, Nigeria is a secular state with companies like Nigerian breweries producing Star, Gulder etc. BAT, British American Tobacco. All these companies pay their tax to the federal purse and in turn the fed govt disburse the fund to all states. If Liquor or tobacco is banned up north in the name of sharia. why does your state governmnets collect money from the federal purse. are they claiming ignorance of the fact that Liquor and tobacco is one of the highest tax paying sectors of our economy and this money is shared to their states. Here they are again advicing a jobless fellow to ignore opportunities in the name of religion.
Are you not just contradicting yourself?

If we ask the guy not to take the job, does that not tell you that we are trying our best to keep away?

We can not be perfect but will try to be.

I have been wondering why he has been giving examples with the worst scenarios.

Even when things are bad, it is better with the person you love than with the one you don't.

tbaba1234: Nothing in love?? There is no love manual. Being in love does not guarantee a happy or beautiful life. It could be quite painful and hurtful. It all depends.
please explain what you mean.

Sissie: I was busy and couldn't post sooner, but I can't marry a man that doesn't love me, I can't even think of it, if hes incapable of loving me then what am I doing in his house? I want a house full of love and laughter.

Me posting about liking someone and marrying him, is because I may not court him for long to know if I am In love with him or not, but if I like him that's a great sign.
I did not mean the time of posting. #justsaying especially in relation to the girl I said was beside me, who went blank for a while.

Yeah..I respect your idea. Many people agree with that.

tbaba1234: Why do I want to get married?

i. Someone to share my 'rib-cracking' jokes with, don't want my sisters to have all the fun, they have had it for long enough. grin grin

ii. Well, i wanted to have children. Still do but maybe i will invent a way to keep them steady. There just go everywhere.... Funny thing, the Quran describes children as making tawaf... grin grin .. yep it does seem that way sometimes. Back to the lab folks.. grin

iii. Getting her to sign the life-long contract with the 'evil' grin on my face... Hohoho!! grin grin.. Ha, i can picture the scene.

iv. To hopefully build a good home with the right values.
the rib cracking jokes..lol

It takes interest for a joke to be seen as funny. A wife who loves you will laugh even when they are not funny...they will naturally be funny to her and she can even tell you they are not, as understanding is in the marriage.

The one tolerating you will laugh even when they are not funny as a show of tolerance.

What do you think of friendship, respect and transparency in marriage?
IslamRe: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by deols(op): 9:28am On Oct 11, 2013
tbaba1234: ^ Actually, the man divorced her. He is married with four children now.

But those guys were the definition of 'madly in love'.
I knew this was your point all the way.

I will rather marry someone I love than the one I am only tolerating. I would hate to have a marriage with someone who is only tolerating me.

Tolerance is what makes me have housemates. People I live with only because we share rents. A lifelong of such an arrangement would not be good for me. at all.
IslamRe: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by deols(op): 9:23am On Oct 11, 2013
tbaba1234: He divorced her.

There are no guarantees. Her faith was not strong to begin with. She had left Islam before.

Would you risk raising your children in this way? Only Allah changes hearts.
I would have tried first.

and as a Man he is even allowed to stay married to her.

As a woman, after trying and he does not change, I'd have to let him go. Nothing in love says you cannot let them go. And after he leaves, I'll find someone else capable of love.

But I would have lived a beautiful life when the going was good.

If I did not love him and he ends up this way, it would have been a double blow -not enjoyed marriage and still ends up single.

I prefer love any day any time. It doesnt guarantee a life long marriage but at least gives me a happy, enjoyable period.
IslamRe: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by deols(op): 9:17am On Oct 11, 2013
Sissie: Why do I want to get married?

Aside from the religious reasons we all know.

1. I want companionship, the type I can't get from my family and friends, someone I can snuggle, cuddle with ......... wink cheesy
2. I want to have children grin
3. My family wants me too.
3. Someone to spend my life with, my family members will get married, relocate, have their own lifes e.t.c and won't always be there.

Let me think of more reason.....will update.
But it took a little while b4 you came up with this. right?

I am sure not many people have given deeper thoughts beyond the intimate needs ...

I thought of the children part. But love still comes first. I can not have children with someone I don't love or is incapable of loving me.

I doubt that such a person would be able to show love to the children. There is a Yoruba proverb that 'Aya to ba wu ni lomo e n wuni'
which means that the wife you love's children are beloved to you.
IslamRe: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by deols(op): 9:10am On Oct 11, 2013
tbaba1234: What will you advice?

You are a muslim man, devout muslim. You got married to a muslim lady who was less devout but hey, you fell 'in love'.

So marriage starts, she has a miscarriage in her first pregnancy but she starts having difficulties conceiving again. Then, you come home one day to find your wife with the bible. Apparently, the periods of waiting have turned your wife. She is now seeking a 'miracle' fruit of the womb. Actually, she had left Islam before while in the university but a brother gave her dawah and she came back. She tells you , she has become christian.

Alright, she pleads with you to let her practise and that both of you can practise different faiths.

What will you do?
As the man, I will realise that there is no other time to show her love than this trying moment.

I will lovingly bring her back into Islam.

Throwing her out would be counter productive. There is enough tales of Christians who dont have children. Having children is no sign of validity of the acts of God or the perfection of a religion.
