lafex: Please what is the wayout of aneurysm if that is the case
I only used aneurysm as an example. If she had fallen down, and hit her head, she may have develloped an hematoma(blood in the surrounding of the brain) This could have compressed the brain. As a result she may develop headache, and some other symptoms and she could start to behave abnormally.

In that case, having a surgery as early as possible to remove the blood may solve the problem.

You need to take her to a hospital to confirm what really is wrong with her.

ifyalways: Nobody is thrashing your post,at least not me. Maybe some Nigerians generally believe that mental cases are spiritual not all.
What i failed to understand and was asking was, what is the relationship between falling down and going crazy huh OP have failed to shed more light on this and we are here analyzing the woman as mentally unstable . wow
Thrashing my post is the least of my worries. The post I was talking about is the Op's.

The wind may just be a convenient thing to blame. It does not change the possibility of the woman suffering from a mental illness.
IslamShare Your Fond Eid Memories by deols(op): 9:20am On Oct 14, 2013
Eid is a beautiful time.

To me, the best time is the one you spend with family and the best memory is the one you have of Childhood. If they are beautiful, they will be forever cherished. Parents should make it as beautiful and wonderful as possible for their children.

I have spent the last 7 eid ul adha away from home and every time, I remember what it used to be like.

Here, I'll share some of the fond memories I have...Do share yours as well.

* My First purse- I must have been six years old at the time. I did my first ramadan fast and to pay me for that, my dad who had gone for Umrah got me a purse and some other things. But I remember the purse only. It was blue in colour, decorated with oval beads..It is the most beautiful purse ever and I carried it for the next eid. I did not lose that purse- it was so valuable!! I had it for a longggg time. smiley smiley smiley

*Eid clothes- God bless my momma! smiley. Of course, we,children spend sleepless nights before the eid day checking and re checking and hoping that eid would come soon. At other times, we are shopping for the shoes or the English dress(usually worn the day after eid) a day to eid. Many people in the markets. Everyone trying out the latest. woah..it was sweeeet!

*Eid accessories- Do you remember the barka de sallah hats?? An eid was incomplete without one. And the goggles. OMG!! A child who did not have one was not having a good one..and maybe some wrist watches with lights..hmmmn..the good ol days wink

*The Eid money- My grandpa would give them in New notes and so would my dad. These would take long to finish spending. Who wants to spend their new notes especially when the numbers on them are serial? The money would buy the ice cream that we seldom see until eid day. and that is all. Ice cream became characteristic of eid. tongue

*Eid time out- I remember the trans amusement park in Ibadan. I can not tell precisely how many times and for what occasion. But some good time was spent there. UI zoo too..and Oh!! Agodi gardens( more recently)

*Eid Rams - When I was much younger, my uncles used to get the rams fighting. This is not right in Islam as we have come to know..may Allah forgive us. So the rams have names and the favourite are the shorties(kuru). They can fight!!! I also like the bigger ones with long and curly horns. A particular ram that I so much remember was very big. A neighbout had told my dad, ' Alhaji, you have bought a cow in the form of a ram'. We got overly excited around it and one of my bros got into an accident..wow!..that was hard..but it is a good story to tell, still.

*Meat sharing, cooking - I never took part in meat sharing. No one ever thought I could serve in that capacity. They never allowed me the chance to take meat to neighbours. How much I wanted to grin.

Cooking with all the fumes from firewood etc was not a thing I liked. I would keep away as much as possible. I was more interested in the cooked food and I used to be entrusted with the fried meat..oh la la!!!!! What could have been better than that!!!

I love Nija mehnnnnnnnn.... wink smiley smiley smiley

shymexx: Just checking. Seeing a grown woman fall flat on her ar.se definitely won't be a pretty sight.

Hijab can be a hazard, you know. And celebrating with hijab on is risky business. tongue
not funny, grin

There is a lot of ignorance about the Muslim culture. The hijab is worn outdoors. If my jubilation is in my house, I am probably looking hotter than anyone you've ever known as I go about it.

and even if outside, who says celebrating has to involve jumping. Many of us are cultured, you know wink

I have a bogus plan on all the things that I want to achieve. I know that an important element to it is having the right partner who gives the support, et al.

I would not want my success to make him uncomfortable. There is no way around helping his ego beyond his being above boards on his own. I mean, he's got to be better in his own way is the only solution my mind has been able to come up with. There is no helping a low man out of it.

and there is no helping me out of my ambition...at least as at this moment.

Is it realistic yo have a man who is not threathened by what you have?

I mean that he is not worried that you have money stored somewhere or an investment that would rake in a lot.

Would most men just trick the wife into.spending so that she does not have more than them eventually?

Is it such a big deal to have a wife who has more?
IslamRe: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by deols(op): 11:49pm On Oct 13, 2013
tbaba1234: The thing about marriage is that every penny counts.. You have to take care of expenses, plan for the future and still hopefully have some for sadaqah to family and those that need it.

Many men are conscious about letting their wives know what they earn. I remember a story about a woman who stumbled upon her husband payslip and was shocked that she was earning almost double what he earned. He hardly complained but she knew that he had no savings based on what he earned so she started contributing to the home in a way that does not undermine him. You know, men like to feel like they are in control.

I want to be completely open to my wife with everything including finance meaning she would know what i earn and we make plans together. It could make the man a bit vulnerable if he marries the wrong woman.

What about stipends to the wife for her personal monthly expenditure?
I like your style. I think it is the best. Even women who have it all want their husband to spend on them, still. It makes them feel like women and every woman wants to know that she has a crown.

So the stipends make a lot of sense. it is a lot.

well, with the right woman.

tbaba1234: I had thinking about finances in a marriage. It is a major issue in a marriage.

Is it wise to make your wife in charge of the discharge of the home finances in situations where a man is not so good with money?

What happens if the woman earns more than the husband, would you as a woman willingly make contributions to family welfare if the husband is finding it hard to take care of all the bills? I know of a family going through rifts because the woman let the man to pay all the bills alone. Actually, they will be divorced by now if not that they live in the west and the man would lose everything if he tries it.
The woman can take charge if he is not good with money. I'd gladly take charge grin

But if the woman must take care of the bills, conscious efforts to work for the family must be seen in the man. The man should not just let her do the spending because she can.

But if he can, without qualms, he should not ask his wife to help. I'd really want to keep my money for myself alone while my hubby pays the bill..kai. cheesy

He can even allow me have one of his credit cards so I can get all the trinkets I want with ease. smiley

I already have a budget of how my salary would be spent when I start getting it. I really would want a man who won't make my plan change negatively.

The case you mentioned. I think the man should not divorse his wife based on that. To pay the bills is his responsibility. For no reason should he push it on to his wife.

Sissie: I am ready, am reserving my energy for eid day and the day after, luckily I have a one week break, so I can really enjoy and celebrate.

Eid is special to me too, I spent most part of the day cooking. But this year I have decided to do a little eid get together and really have some fun.

What's your plan tor the day?
My plan is very simple. I have eid with my friends. We have no obligation to anyone but ourselves and we will just have fun.

This time we want to cook more so we can give our neighbours who'v always been nice a taste of jollof rice.

That is the plan..

plus we have some invites for d day after..

I have a week break but have exams immediately after. so eid day, d day after and then my books.

sorry about that.

I was trying to make light of the whole situation at first. Of course I could not have been smiling after reading the long note. But you said my post inspired it. There is no other way of seeing that...or maybe in my head alone. But I am sure like a million other people will see it as a response to it.

Whatever that is sha.. I think it is still very much academic to expect that a response is in line with what initial posts are about. It would be better to have it that way so as to avoid ambiguousities.

ummsulaym: well said bro... May Allah give you a better reward for the reminder...

In addition to those reasons is ''religion is in the heart and we will be judge not according to look but intention''... Before August 2012, that was my own excuse for disobeying Allah*may HE forgive me* I was a fashion freak and the though of hijab didn't just go well with me... But truth be told ''the heart that fears Allah will reflect on the outside(body)''
My second excuse was ''am better than alot of hijabis''... To some extent, it may be true but to a larger extent, it's a lie... Imagine using a hijabi sister's loophole as reason to disobey Allah as if account is not me for myself, she for herself and they for themselves...
Worse was when my 'days of ignorance' came to its end and I chose to wear it, hmmmm all hell was let loose my by mum [she wasn't against it but against the full lenght+socks], my friends, family friends, neighbours, to mention but a few were against it most esp my mum saying they cant imagine me being married to a 'brother' but worse among all was my Qur'an tutor (a sufist) who said i was extreme... It was a mini hell but my cousin sis (a nicobite) stood by me and told me it was a test and should not fail... But Alhamdulilah, Allah saw me through and today It's all history [alot are still against it though but my mum is ok] *Ma Shaa Allah*...
Wallahi, hijab comes with lots of advantages that can better be experienced than explained. The least of the advantages being 'freedom'...
It's hard to start but harder to stop... May Allah make His Path easy for us...
ma sha Allah.

tbaba1234: Most of that post came from my shame thread... Meaning it was already pre-written. You should not make assumptions about what people are thinking or how they think. It is a bit insulting.

It was a general post on shyness and shame in which you can take what is beneficial and leave what has no benefit.
Oh then.

Maybe it is better to talk in the context of what is being written.

I even said earlier that it may not have to do with what I wrote but when you said it was inspired by it, I had to wonder what I wrote that could have required such a lecture.

I hope you are not annoyed by it.

FamilyRe: Please Advice Him If He Should Marry The Child Of A Mentally Disorder Person by deols(f): 10:32pm On Oct 13, 2013
The idea of trashing people's posts and looking for loopholes is what is wrong here.

Nigerians generally believe that mental issues have to do with the devil. It then becomes very easy to attribute the wind blow to her condition.

It may not be related at all.

If you work in a hospital setting, you would be familiar with cases like this.

If someone falls and then develops hematoma. It could be that they had an aneurysm which bursted after which they fell. Or they could have fallen and afterwards, aneurysm bursts.

Now does it matter which came first, anymore?

what matters is that this woman is not normal. @Op, make sure the right medical attention is sought. If the woman is found to be having a mental issue of a genetic origin, reassess your relationship with her child.
IslamRe: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by deols(op): 10:24pm On Oct 13, 2013
What came to mind are the people talking about who slept with who. If they did not come to mind they would not be in your post. That is not an assption. It is in your post.
IslamRe: What Stops You From Wearing The Hijab? by deols(f): 10:22pm On Oct 13, 2013
All I read here is what a low self esteem leads to.

To others, it is simply because they don't want to wear it.

So we either work on the self esteem or work on the fear of Allah/knowledge of Islam.
FamilyRe: Please Advice Him If He Should Marry The Child Of A Mentally Disorder Person by deols(f):
ifyalways: Mental illness ?
Are we reading same post or you know the OP outside here? How can a woman that tripped and fell, probably sustained wounds or even internal bleeding be classified as mentally ill ? Granted she might be delirious, not making so much sense and that is expected(reaction to some drugs) but is that same as being mentally ill?
Things dey happen for dis country.

Are you a psychologist? What do you mean by she was affected psychologically?
Break it down.
Of course, it will take more than the tale of the wind blow to diagnose a mental illness. But what I said remains very correct. If she does suffer from a mental illness, the OP's concerns are GENuine.

You even think she could be delirious? when delirium is very much likely a result of a brain dysfunction- likely a mental disorder.

@Op, if confirmed to be mentally disturbed and that would be diagnosed by a psychiatrist. Ask questions like, Is it a genetic disorder? can her children suffer from the same?

In more developed climes, she would have to go for gene mapping where the possibility of her getting the disease would be known and possible ways of preventing it would be told.

I had to laugh first.

Is it just me or I have been reading some comparisons that are somehow in the last few days.

I need a break undecided

but be4 then, lemme just say that when I spoke of finding it easy to talk about, I mentioned profession. It becomes a normal part of your vocabulary and whether to a man or woman, it is only seen as a professional discussion.

and at other times, it is only for educational purposes. This is when the weird looks happen- hypocritical in most cases.

I dont even think it happens that people come on NL to talk of who is sleeping with who. I dont even know anyone who sleeps around.

and yes. Tbaba's comments may not have anything to do with what I posted. There is no harm in clarifying things. wink

when I am back from the break, I'll be intersted in talking more about LOVE. You can only imagine that I have been known as the master of love in some quarters...

oops! How many retionship advice I dish out so often undecided
