frosbel: I debate with hard facts from your Quranic and Hadith sources , in fact most of the rage poured out on people like me and davidlyan was because we dared to quote your scriptures word for word and the support for violence , subjugation of women and prevention of scholarly research into it's origins , tenets and practices.
But you cannot debate without insulting others. You also lack the knowledge of the Quran. All you do is copy and paste from elsewhere and run away when your lies get exposed.

Seriously, don't even talk.If Davidylan is whom you compare yourself with, things are even worse.

Gboliwe: I don't have a phobia against Islam. But for the fact that I presently live in a Christian dominated region, I related more with moslems than Christians. Most of my childhood friends are moslems. I respect the religion and tolerate our differences. I don't speak ill of it. BUT, when people like Maclatunji show up, something snaps in me. The extremism is choking and I cant stand them. BTW, you are in my radar too. I see you not as a fanatic but an arrogant and proud young woman. I have nothing against your religion but your general condescending attitude towards people
I assume we've met on a thread somewhere and my attitude was condescending to you.

I am not perfect. Understanding that makes me work on myself. I will get there eventually.
There's nothing understandable about his "hatred" and besides why are you apologizing for a story that you cant verify?
I find it understandable. I assume many people never really exposed to Muslims and Islam beyond these kinds of experiences can understandably hate what it stands for. I also think that finding out more and learning beyond what they know now is their responsibility.

I am sorry he is in that situation. I know he must be hurt. I think the story is real. I dont think that anyone would speak of their parents like that just to make a cheap point.

This is potentially very interesting

Gboliwe: Each time I cross posts with you, you remind me of the violent death that befell my father. I cant hide the fact that I despise you. It was your kind of moslems that severed and cut short the life of my father.
We have a great number of moslems here who do not hide their identity. I just vouched for Mukina, many true moslims in moderator capacity but you are one Buhari, one Extremist, one fanatic, one wicked soul who found succour under islam. I know your game plan. From that your moslem section, work your way to other sections -Literature, Family, Politics etc conquer and subdue. Its in you, the wicked and despicable crave to dominate.
Yes, I detest you unfortunately, you cant change that
I am really sorry about your predicament. Your hatred is understandable. I can never feel bad about your bad posts towards Muslims anymore.

I am really really sorry.
Christianity Etc › Re: My Apologies And A New Appointment by deols(f): 10:38am On Aug 12, 2013
Enigma: Having been a critic of yours on a couple of occasions, I will express an opinion.

1. The replacement of the hitherto interim moderator is a good move.
2. The replacement with Mukina2 would ordinarily be a good move too;however, the fact that a Muslim section essentially unavailable to others exist means you will always struggle to justify using a Muslim, any Muslim (no matter how competent as with Mukina2), in the general Religion section.
3. Just to add to 2 (and to say something on a point I have always kept quiet about): the Muslims come to the general Religion section to do to others the very same things that they do not accept on their own section; this is even true of the now replaced interim moderator here!

Finally:
4. In my opinion, you owe manmustwac TWO things: (1) a public expression of gratitude for his contribution as moderator and even simply as a Nairalander and (2) a public apology for the manner in which his removal was handled.
That is not entirely true.

Very interesting.

Obviously, the religion is not the problem but the individual.

Oh God, they need to have another branch in Ibadan first!

That bodija branch is an eye sore. With people on long queues.

There's no way I am opening an acct if their banking halls wont be convenient to be in.

I dont even know how those aspects of our culture remained.

I dont have the intention of training my kids to prostrate to anyone.

No one should demand it. I dont stand up while greeting elders. I do a little leaning just so they dont put eyes on my body. I know many people find themselves in these instances. I have heard a learned guy saying that some scholars permit a lil bowing as a sign of respect. To avoid it altogether is the best.

Islam › Re: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by deols(op): 4:01pm On Aug 11, 2013
The issue if prostration is very simple to me. But some people like wahala. Probably it makes them feel like they are better on d right path than others.

If you know that you would be mandated to prostrate where you are going, why not discuss it with them before the d day.

If there is no compromise, leave their daughter to them and see if they'll be willing to marry her to themselves.

More possible than not, since she likes you and they prolly have accepted that you are good for her, they will give in. But waiting for the d day to cause fracas isnt wise at all.

Sissie: Hmmm
1. Did they do it out of ignorance or knew and went ahead.

This is my opinion, since the marriage itself is not valid, it means they are technically not married, and based on that I say the sexual intercourse is illegal. If we say it's not zina it means we agree the marriage is legal and it's somewhat ok to do it because the procedure is allowed.

And many people do this. Infact there are people who divorce their wives more than 3 times and still reconcile
without her marrying someone else.
If I know someone who did that I would ask them to re-do the marriage rites just to be safe.
I want to think dr is some leverage.

If a christian got married and later bcoms a Muslim. He wont have to make the marriage Islamic.

There should be a way out for the erring Muslim if they ask for forgiveness later on. We wouldnt want to see their children as bastads(i couldnt find a less offensive word)

showietee: Here- west africa.

Traditional medication- example is mixture of alcoho wit some other things for medication and relating matters.

Incision is called “gbere“ is sw nigeria... Having some marks on the body wit some odd beliefs about it.

Aso-ebi to me is totally off track... The best outfit for sisters should be your niqab.
Differentiate your opinion from what Islam says. Even sisters can wear aso ebi if they want to and still wear their niqab. Abi are clothes not supposed to be worn below the khimar?

No one forces anyone to have gbere or drink agbo..

stop making an issue from something so not tangible.

Sissie: If the woman doesn't have her wali and the required witness isn't present and dowry isn't paid the wedding is not valid.

2. The woman still needs a wali. Yes.
The difference is in the acceptance of a groom not the marriage requirements.
How is d acceptance of a groom different?

For question 1, if they did d wrong thing out of ignorance of defiance. Would you call their relationship that of zinna? Are their children seen as born out of wedlock?

2.If a Muslim gets married without all the requirements intact, would the marriage be regarded as legal according to Islam?

I mean, if for example the marriage is in a court and there is no wali involved.

2. Does a woman who is previously married need a wali for her second marriage? Aee all the requirements same in both instances?
