tbaba1234: So what purpose does it serve? I just watched a youtube video of the sister campaigning for votes, well actually, i couldn't even watch it to the end because i had to 'lower my gaze' with all the different pictures they were showing. Even though, they try to make it Islamic, it still reeks of a beauty contest. Why didn't they make it a Quranic contest for sisters instead?

That is just my opinion.
I didnt see the video even though I have no gaze lowering to do on it.

Islam was meant to be distinct and now we have people deliberately copying others and promoting their jahiliyyah
Islam › Re: Pls Vote Her For World Muslimah Competition by deols(f):
HEll NO.

There is no way I am liking that photo.

First, it would be unfair to choose her when others are probably more beautiful undecided

On a serious note, it is as if some Muslims are hell bent on copying the others. It reeks of a lack of self esteem. Oh so someone decides, let us create a beauty pageant. No, an Islamic beauty pageant and[s] show the world that our women are also beautiful[/s]

I cannot even think, no matter how much I try, of something beneficial about it. Maybe I need help on that.

That thing is annoying- FACT!

basilico: I am inclined to believe that the lack of female muslim athletees in Moscow has a lot to do with the strict conditions muslim men impose on their women. Chief among them is that muslima women should not show any skin in public. I may be wrong and this is a good day to show me how wrong I am. Gbam if we see any muslim woman on the podium.

Logicboy03: Why cant you give a sincere apology?
What is your own?

How is it an apology. How isnt it sincere?

So he feels disrespected by me and hates it but he can disrespect a noble prophet? Funny.

But of course, I still dislike that it hurts.

Trust his judgment

That was hard for me. I grew up being taught to be very independent and I can do many things myself. I had to learn to leave certain things for him to do and to trust that he will do them well . . . and if he didnt do them well this time, there is always an opportunity for him to get it right next time.
That is like an advice directed at me.
Celebrities › Re: 'Oprah Lied" - Salesgirl Accused Of Racist Comment by deols(f): 12:06pm On Aug 13, 2013
I dislike it when told something I am admiring is expensive. So I understand how Oprah feels. Making it a racial issue is what I dont entirely agree with.

I wont buy it solely to prove a point. I will prove the point only if buying it is worthwhile.
Islam › Re: IAAF 2013 Female Muslim Athletees by deols(f):
naptu2: And he is actually wrong. Muslim women have taken part in international sports events for a long time and won medals in the Olympics and World Championships (Hasiba Boulmerka, Habiba Ghribi, Nawal El Moutawakel, Maziah Mahusin, Maiya Maneza, Asli Cakir Alptekin, Sarrah Attar, etc). But it's a matter of choice. Some women may also choose not to compete, in adherence to the tenets of their faith and they have every right to make that choice and people like the OP cannot force them to choose otherwise.
Yes. Many Muslims have. Falilat Ogunkoya(not sure of the name), a Nigerian is a Muslim athlete. But I know op is more concerned with Islam not allowing them.

Afam4eva: This is the first time that i'm encountering a kinda of solidarity with Muslim athletes. Aren't we as Nigerians supposed to be supporting our athletes irrespective of religion. So, you'd rather support a Saudi Muslim athlete than a Nigerian Christian athlete? SMH
Op is not a Muslim. He is angered for not seeing unveiled muslim women jumping up and down. A part of his wants arent satisfied by the fact that Muslim women are not participating in international competitive sports.

aryzgreat: yet ur religion supported gals getting married to men that have wives, when were voicing out against the marriage here on NL most of u muslims were hapi, believing she will convert, now d marriage has crashed and u are blaming funke. Very avoidable fake marriage
I am not saying polygamy is bad. But going into it, expecting less than a polygamous life and all d wahala that go with polygamy is what I am against.

And btw, she denied that he was married to other women. She was going in as the numero uno. That is dumb.

A man who goes for you after he'd had others should be expected to go for others after he's had you.

Science/Technology › Re: Nigeria Uses Its Satellites To Collect Data From Earth Orbit by deols(f):
bright007: the last time i checked...
browsing the net and buying internet data remains very expensive in Nigeria compared to other countries with or without satelite in space.
This is exactly what came to my mind. We pay exorbitant fees for(poor) internet service even though the satellite is ours

just like we pay so much to power our generators despite having oil wells

Despite having kainji and so much rainfall(that even get to cause erosion and flooding), we cannot have regular power supply.

Sunrays are wasting when solar technology is booming elsewhere.
Not sure the dude is trying to exonerate himself here...otherwise he wouldn't be happy to be celebrating a religious feast there. He's merely rubbing it in the face of his so-called haters of which Funke is among.

And what makes you think the first and second wives have used vodoo? Why didn't you reason that way when the dumbfuck abandomed them for Funke?

As an enlightened and smart young girl Funke is, I blame this whole mess on her for not knowing that its a no no to marry a married man with 2 wives, cuncubines and nummerous children.

I believe she has learnt and I wish her luck in her next attempt if need be.
She was hoping he would dump them for her. Many girls make the mistake of thinking a man left the other women because they werent good enough. They assume they can provide what the others couldn't. Very dumb IMO.

That's it- the time.

Please before you make another mistake, do ur consultation well in order to appoint a good mod.

agree with mukina2 on this.

1) I personally do want a present moderator extending his/her powers here cos this section is very controversial and requires dedication

2) I want to see an experienced member appointed. No newbie.
