The bottom line is, there are some people from South East precisely who paid the lobbyists to misled president Trump about the fake Christian persecution in Nigeria.

Nigerians are taking note of all their moves to make everything scatter in Nigeria
Irrespective of their religion, people are dying and someone needs to do something fast. Christian or Muslim genocide, many are dying. Just because someone someone labeled it something you don't like doesn't mean we should fold our hands and watch. For whatever it's worth, more Christians have lost their lives due to insurgency than Muslims, except you want to deny the truth.

I fully concur to your response....societal and not just leadership....presently I engage my workers base on contract unlike the regular working schedule. Why? Because they colluded thrice now and defrauded me despite fair salary of minimum getting X 3 minimum wage before the implementation by the government.....I have always said that most Nigerians aren't employable......Thanks
That's the point. From experience, I've come to realize that most Nigerians will steal you blind if you allow them. The same way the politicians would like to steal money for their generation unborn is the same way the average citizens would like to steal from your business if you put them in charge without oversight.
I'd prefer to put Tinubu in charge of my money than leave it to those criticizing politicians.

Sure, you are right about Nigeria but for your information, some countries in Africa uses their native languages to teach in School.....South Africa, Kenya for example are doing that already and most of those Northern Africa...however, we still need to do more in using our native languages to teach in our schools..... especially the junior classes....

Let me ask you a question? While you were in school, when you read at your own time, either preparing for exams or just normal reading of your notes. Do you consciously or unconsciously think In regards to what you just read, do you think of it in your tribal language or just as usual....English??
My parents didn't buy the idea of speaking English to us at home. I grew up speaking my native tongue at home. English in school. So anything I read in English, I subconsciously translate to my language and process it.

So, what do you gain by paying 15% tax in Nigeria?

Do you have uninterrupted power supply?
Clean drinking water?
Good roads with proper safety measures?
Clean environment?
Good paying job?

These are just the basics.
I may not have good roads everywhere I go or uninterrupted power supply, but I have access to clean water and environment and I've never put the responsibility of having a good job on the government. I find a better job every time I see one or get bored with the one I'm doing. This is not because I have connections, but because I have the required skills to do what most people can't do. Yes, the opportunities are minimal in Nigeria and you have to have connections or be highly skilled to get great jobs.
Where I stay now, solar power serves me better.
I've been to a lot of places to understand that paying 15% tax won't get you even the basics you listed up there, that's besides the fact that our politicians steal the little we have.

We pay health insurance here but do we get to experience the kind of care and facilities you get in Western countries?

When I say top tier, I mean we'll equipped hospitals that can handle complex cases. Shamefully, even our politicians run to those hospitals for ordinary routine checkups...

All the oil, education, and electricity subsidies that has been removed, with the numerous bank charges, is it not enough to provide the whole nation with just pipeborne water?

I will happily pay 50% tax in the UK where I know it'll be made use of than 5% in Nigeria where i know where it'll go.
Bank charges? Government do not run Banks in Nigeria. That's what I know.
You want to know why Nigeria is the way it is? It's because of Nigerians like you. The people in government are a reflection of the population. I've always said you can't possibly have good people and bad government. The government is bad because most people will act the same way if they have the opportunity. Put an average Nigerian in charge of your business as a manager and he/she will attempt to run you out of business if you let him/her. Now imagine that kind of person having to access to billions or even trillions?
You'll get a stage in life where you'd rather put Tinubu or Akpabio in charge of your money rather than an average Nigerian who hasn't had any opportunity to steal. People in government are just few people who found themselves in position of power, they didn't fall from the sky, and I have every reason to believe you won't any better than people you criticize if you have the opportunity.

Free top-tier healthcare in which country? Unlike Nigeria where people mostly pay out of pocket, people pay for health insurance. If that's what you term as free health care, good for you.

Maybe it's time she changed her Bank. I've been transferring bigger money since the new year but I've not noticed this tax you guys are talking about.
Sending money from conventional Banks has never been free. Before now, , UBA will charge you N53.25 for amount greater than 10k. Add to the fact that the sender will now be the one paying stamp duty. Confusing bank charges for tax is the most ignorant take I've seen so far this year and it's really annoying. Which part of the law says unemployed people are exempted? Let’s start from there.
Which part of the law states that there would be grants and social benefits for the unemployed like it’s done in the countries we are emulating? Please, I’m waiting because those are the major concerns I highlighted.
A fresh graduate who’s earning an income through betting (for instance) is to be taxed according to the newly created income tax laws but there’s no provision and mechanism in place to get him employed or entitled to social benefits, loans or grants at least or if you think he wouldn’t be taxed, kindly share with us the part of the law that says he’s exempted since he’s unemployed. Also share with me the Nigerian laws that make provisions to cater to the needs of unemployed citizens.
Again, this conversation is not your regular Obidients vs Agbado as you commonly call yourselves on this forum, so please trash the old vs new regime nonsense you’re trying to bring up because I’m not here to compare one nonsense with another as both the new and the old shouldn’t be in existence until those said mechanism are put in place, no human society taxes unemployed people without making them entitled to benefits.
No human society thrives on taxing poverty.
Supporting Tinubu shouldn’t turn you into Obi’s hordes of lunatic followers who believe Obi is perfect and can do no wrong. The lunatics that are fond of hurling insults at anyone who dares to question him. That’s not how sane humans should be, we should be able to put sentiments aside and judge things objectively. One of the many Ódés even said Nnamdi Kanu would rot in sokoto prison—ultimately presuming that I was one of his supporters just because I’m faulting a policy created by Tinubu🤣
Now tell me, what’s the difference between you and the Peter Obi’s hordes of delulus?
Government should find you a job? I know things are difficult in the country and it's rarely easy to get a good job, but common, you want Nigeria to be paying social benefits in a country where more than half of the population are between 18 and 65?
We are not that bouyant. We should focus on making sure politicians and their friends in the public won't be able to squander the little we are. That should be the goal.
PoliticsRe: Questions & Answers On The New Nigeria Tax Law by DeOTR:

Is 800k not less than 600 dollars per year?
It's clearly written on the post, no one pays anything on the first 800k. Deduct 800k from naira equivalent of $600, the balance is what is taxable. If you're not earning up to 23m naira annually, you can't pay more tax under this new reform.
You get to pay 65 naira more monthly if your salary is currently 23m annually after dedicating only pension.
All these noises are unnecessary.

And to think that a government will seek to take from people earning slightly above 50 dollars a month or less than two dollars a day is just so cruel.

That ridiculous threshold of N800,000 is equivalent to 550 dollars a year or One dollar, 50 cents a day. So if I earn two dollars a day I am liable to give a portion to government...haba.

Considering that the United Nations has adopted the World Bank's IPL (International Poverty Line), that delineates poverty from extreme poverty to be survival on 3 dollars a day, our government intends taxing anyone earning above One dollar fifty cents. That is taxing Extreme Poverty.

This is mean and absolutely unconscionable.
Fortunately, we're not operating on Dollars in Nigeria. And no, your first 800k is not taxable. Everyone gets that 800k tax relief. If you earn 960k annually for instance, you only pay tax on 160k (15% if I get it correctly). If you earn 12m annually, the first 800k is 0%, the next 2.2m is 15%, then the next 9m after that is 18%. That's how it works. If you earn more than 12m annually, the next 50m I think, would be 25% rate. So if if you earn 15m, the 3m after 12m will be taxed at 25%.
