nairalanda1: We actually have a lot of business being poor.
LIke now, I am looking at the lithium we discovered. Where are the Nigerian investors that are willing to set up a factory to manufacture lithium batteries for export to other countries?
We want to sell it to china and share the money, and build nice houses filled with imported stuff.
It is not a matter of 'badly managed resources'. We don't use the resources to make stuff the world needs.
Remember how Ghana once sold a batch of cocoa for 2 billion dollars? One UK based company made products worth 17 billion dollars from part of that cocoa
We too wan share money, that is our problem. We want subsidised life, so that we can live in a nice house with imported stuff. And then we come and wonder why we are poor. No nation will become reasonably self-sufficient by selling unprocessed mineral resources, and then be a net consumer of the finished good. I don't know why it's so difficult to force China to have their factories here if they're interested in it, assuming we don't have indigenous individuals that are capable of it. Politicians are always eager to make money quickly and steal as much as possible. No foresight whatsoever. The worse and the annoying part is that, they don't run their personal business that way. |

koladata: Says a man that embezzled 16billion dollars electricity money China will open the Huajiang bridge in June. It's the tallest bridge in the world. Very iconic that it will attract a lot of tourists. My next stop would be China after launch. Why are I saying this? It costs less than $400 million to build it and was started in 2022. Here in Nigeria, $16 billion was allegedly spent on electricity (almost the same amount it costs to build Dubai), and still not a single thing to point to. Truly, we have no business being poor. It's just that few people who find themselves in privileged positions decides that it's better to steal almost everything in their care for their personal gains, than for national development. It's only in Nigeria that stealing has been institutionalized. |

RingRoadMafia: Keep quiet if you don't have anything to say.
Those old phones are limited when it comes to the type of modern day tech whatsapp would like to add to its apps. So what they do is, they phase out older phones gradually while also upgrading their apps to fit what the current phones can handle.
They have the capability to accommodate as much phones Not necessarily. Those phone would still be able to do anything the latest android version does. They just targeted particular OS versions in their updates and the worse part is, no option to keep using the old version of WhatsApp and an update will mean the phones won't be able to run the app because of lower versions, not because they can't run it. Technology has not changed much since the last 5 years if you ask me |

CoronaVirusPro: That’s the basis of our discussion.
For you to love or hate someone, you will have a trigger. As little as the way he talks.
I scroll through social media a lot. People only laugh at him. I have not seen real hate towards him.
Like I said, you must have a cause to love or hate anything. You can’t love or hate for nothing. "As little as the way he talks" is one of the many reasons people can hate you for nothing. Some people can hate you because they don't like your face, not necessarily because you did anything wrong, which will be right if you say they hate for nothing. I've also seen where someone was insulting him that he dressed in a particular way because he was too stingy to buy good clothes. If you hate someone because something triggered it, not necessarily because they actually did anything wrong, you're hating them for nothing. |

I will criticize anything and sell it that would make you reconsider. Hating on Kante on what basis.
He does not travel, mingle, or spends lavishly. Stingy when he helps his community with millions.

I don't think you understand this context of poor roads. May maybe you reducing it to bumps and holes With all these in place, crashes are inevitable if drivers are still thinking it's OK to do something else while driving. If you're driving and you're fond of making calls, eating, drinking or exceeding reasonable speed limits, you're one leg out of this world already. Imagine you're on a call while driving 80 miles/hr on a road that's perfect by your definition. Your attentions are already divided (you might want to argue this, but you can't be doing something else while driving and still claim you're 100% focused). That's when you will notice that more than half of appointments from NC are Yoruba. So, this figure is deceiving. After ministerial appointments, let's also look at parastatalls. So we the Yorubas in the NC are no longer from the North? Una go cry tire. |

LegendHero: They need to print this and go to Ndume LG and paste it everywhere.
Imagine North West having the highest number of appointees and yet Ndume is crying everywhere that they are marginalizing the North.
The funniest thing here is that any position that a Southerner gets into, he is taking over from a Northerner. That means for those appointment that are not by Tinubu, the North will still lead there.
Ndume is in APC but his heart is in PDP. Baba dey move like opposition. The second to the last paragraph summarizes the whole issue. They're only angry the president is correcting the huge inbalance. Imagine the president is not "nepotistic"? All you'll see is Hausa people everywhere in government. Are they the only ones in the country? |
Phones › Re: Stop Doing This To Your Devices! 7 Tech Tips To Avoid Permanent Damage by DeOTR: 3:09pm On Apr 10, 2025 |
SkillfulHelper: Our phones, earbuds, smartwatches, and tablets are essential to everyday life — but many of us are unknowingly harming them every single day. From overcharging batteries to ignoring system updates, these common habits can slowly destroy your gadgets.
Don't worry — it’s not too late to fix it.
Here are 7 smart (and simple) tech tips to keep your devices safe, fast, and lasting longer.
🔌 1. Stop Overcharging Your Phone Overnight Yes, it’s convenient — but charging your phone to 100% overnight every night weakens your battery over time. Lithium-ion batteries prefer staying between 20% and 90%.
✅ Do this instead: Unplug once it hits around 90% or use your phone’s optimized charging setting if available.
📲 2. Don’t Ignore Software Updates Updates aren’t just for looks — they often contain critical bug fixes, security patches, and performance boosts. Skipping them puts your device at risk.
✅ Do this instead: Schedule regular update checks and enable auto-updates if you tend to forget.
💾 3. Avoid Filling Up Your Storage to the Max When your phone’s storage is 90–100% full, it slows down dramatically and increases wear on internal memory.
✅ Do this instead: Regularly delete junk files, offload large videos to cloud storage, or invest in expandable memory.
⚡ 4. Using Cheap Chargers Can Be Dangerous That bargain bin charger might save cash, but it could fry your device — or even start a fire.
✅ Do this instead: Stick to original or certified third-party chargers from trusted brands.
📷 5. Never Forget to Clean Your Ports and Lenses Dirt and lint in charging ports can prevent proper charging. Dirty lenses = blurry photos. It’s a simple fix we often overlook.
✅ Do this instead: Clean with a soft brush, microfiber cloth, or canned air every couple of weeks.
🌐 6. Connecting to Any Free Wi-Fi You See? Stop. Public Wi-Fi without proper security can expose your device to hackers and malware.
✅ Do this instead: Use a VPN or stick to secure, trusted networks — especially when entering passwords or making payments.
🔋 7. Running Your Battery to 0% Daily Is Killing It Consistently draining your battery to zero shortens its lifespan significantly.
✅ Do this instead: Keep your charge between 20% and 80% for optimal health.
The truth is: most tech damage comes from what we don’t know. But now you do.
Treat your gadgets right, and they’ll serve you longer, faster, and better. Start changing these small habits today — your future self (and your wallet) will thank you. I'm not sure, but I don't think number 7 is really feasible. Which phone gets to 0% before shutting down? |
