unscripted: you did not even speak to my enquiry , you don't even have a defence to speak , than to just be supporting a evil government blindly , maybe you are one of the benefactors of this madness called an administration. I should be explaining to you why the NNPC should be selling crude oil in Naira to who? Are you the one that'll guarantee that the beneficiary of the naira crude oil will not sell the product to outsiders in dollar rate, their by taking us back to a form of subsidy. You guys will just open your mouth waa, to spew rubbish. The little responsibilities that they've given you, you can't do it properly, but it's a matter beyond your IQ that you want to dabble into. Like I said, criticism is the simplest thing to do, but doing what you criticize others of not doing will become an impossibility if given the opportunity. I believe Buhari and Tinubu now feels stupid for going against subsidy removal in 2012. |

ufotunang: . rice is imported..we import foreign rice a lot .. and you can see the difference between bag of rice when it was 140 naira to a dollar which it was 10k...and now 1560 naira to a dollar which rice is 80 k a bag... even foreign cars imported during Jonathan time 140 naira to a dollar was from 2 million naira but now foreign cars in this Tinubu government 1560 naira to a dollar is from 150 million naira and above...what about television, fridge, android phones, laptop, generators Nigeria imports this goods a lot...compare the prices when it was 140 naira to a dollar at 2012 during Jonathan administration those items were cheap...but now in 1560 naira to a dollar..those items are very expensive and unaffordable for many Nigerians to buy I understand your point. In all, it's really pathetic that dollar is determining the prices of common food in the country. It's understandable if we're talking about cars and other things we don't and can't manufacture yet. |

smithclito: U are wrong sir. Do u know the meaning of subsides ? In its minimal state ,it's a right the country owe u for been a citizen. The reason for been the owner of the rich natural resources of the grate county. So removing it totally is an infringement on the right of the sons of the country.I don't want to talk much cos most of u don't even know r right. Why do u think those senators and other big government people are been paid all those insentives transport allowance, word rope allowance and all that. It's all subsides. So stop talking about shit u don't know about Subsidy breeds corruption in a country like Nigeria. Removing fuel subsidy is the best thing any government can do. |

ufotunang: ... during Jonathan time when it was 140 naira to a dollar..bag of rice 10,000 naira, indomie noodles 50 naira, fresh egg 50 naira, fresh tomatoes 50 naira, cup of rice 30 naira, cup of beans 20 naira, cup of garri 10 naira, palm oil 75 cl.. 250 naira, coke and soft drinks 50 naira..but during this tinubu time.. which exchange rate is 1560 naira to a dollar...bag of rice 90k, fresh egg 250 naira, fresh tomatoes 200 naira, onions 100 naira, cup of rice 500 naira , cup of beans 500 naira, cup of garri 200 naira, palm oil 75 cl..2,000 naira, coke and soft drinks..500 naira...so you can see the huge difference in the prices during when the exchange rate was 140 naira to a dollar and 1560 naira to a dollar..so when the naira is strong and has value price of foodstuffs will be cheap Prices of foodstuffs should never be dependent on the strength of our currency unless we're importing them. If we grow most of our foods, nothing should concern the price of rice and beans with the value of the naira relative to the dollar. |

ahmedio2017: You don't have a say, if you travel abroad won't you pay tax? I've traveled to lot of countries, everyone pay the same taxes irrespective of religion. How would you feel if you are forced to pay a different type of taxes because you're a Moslem? Surah At-Tawbah (Chapter 9), verse 29: "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor in the Last Day, and do not forbid what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden, and do not practice (Literally: to have as a religion) the religion of Truth-from among the ones to whom the Book was brought-until they give the tax out of hand (i.e., by a ready money payment, or in token of submission) and have been belittled. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Iranian Activist Given 178 Lashes, 18 Months In Prison For Not Wearing A Hijab by DeOTR: 8:43pm On Mar 30, 2025 |
ahmedio2017: What is the correlation na do you even know the meaning of jizya it means tax na does that now mean they must join Islam?
Jizya was a tax historically levied on non-Muslims (dhimmis) in Islamic states. It was based on Islamic jurisprudence and was imposed in exchange for protection and exemption from military service. The rate varied depending on the region, the ruler, and the wealth of the individual. Jizya was primarily collected from adult, able-bodied men, while women, children, the elderly, the poor, and certain other groups were typically exempt.
The tax was justified within Islamic governance as a financial obligation in return for the state's protection and services, similar to zakat, which Muslims were required to pay. Jizya was widely implemented under various Islamic empires, including the Rashidun, Umayyad, Abbasid, and Ottoman Caliphates. It was abolished in most Muslim-majority countries in the 19th and 20th centuries. Justify jizya, let me know if you know what you're saying? Why would you require people of other faith to pay an extra kind of tax? Do you want me to post the verse here for you to see the context? Do you know what would happen if they failed to pay the jizya? |

ahmedio2017: Does that have anything to do with compulsion? Quran explain the difference between the light and dark, it is now left to us to choose because God gave us freewill. If anybody is forcing anyone to join Islam is not part of us.... When you subjugate people and force them to pay jizya because they didn't convert to Islam? Is that the definition of freewill according to Allah? |

Probably he has also being involved in shady deals in River State civil service and he was shown the evidence, hence he will have to face EFCC if he refuse to cooperate. I don't have pity for anyone in government whether you're a civil servant or not, as long as you're dining and eating with the politicians, you have to face your judgement alone, I don't care. bong4: You can imagine, how did we know MKO Abiola won the elections if they were announced? I only hope those Senators of Ibo extraction can now see the game being played in the National Assembly. When they join others to malign their people's interests because money has been shared amongst them, they shouldn't expect sympathy when cases like this come up. If Nwosu announced the winner, MKO wouldn't have any need to declare himself the winner, and consequently going to jail for it. It's basic knowledge that a winner can only emerge if the chairman of the electoral body announce it after collation of the results. If you're old enough in 1993, you should have known that we only knew MKO won from collated results, not from Nwosu announcing him the winner. The way you people attempt to rewrite history is very alarming. Wetin happen!!! |

Most of Quran stories can not be understood unless you reference other books. It's a bunch of disjointed stories that says one thing in this verse and says something else totally unrelated in the next. You're embarrassing yourself by saying a book of less volume than only the new testament has all the stories the whole Bible has. |
