Fuel and electric power scarcity reach here. Nigeria go survive even if them drink the oil and collapse the power stations.

It means your bid was successful and you will get your 600k in 91 days. The difference between 600k and what was removed from your account is your interest paid up front.

Your friend's purchase couldn't have been for 91 days. That 1mil implies approx. 11.1% yield, and the 8mil will be held for a full year.
True talk. Well said.

Dear xxxxxxxx

In the past two days, CBN has been experiencing system downtime with its settlement platforms, precisely RTGS & S4.

Consequently, these hitches have hampered CBN’s operations as deals that are meant to settle via these platforms are all pending. Some of the outcome of this challenge are briefed below:

1. The entire industry cannot determine the opening figures for trading money market instruments & fixed income securities.
2. RTGS operations are also halted as movement of cash amongst Banks is inoperative.
3. Treasury Bills maturities cannot be accessed. This means that Banks are yet to be credited with proceeds upon maturity yesterday.
4. Primary market auction which held two days ago is yet to be processed, and as a result, auction results cannot be advised.

While we crave your forbearance, we implore you to accordingly advise our customers, particularly those whose deals are pending. Also let customers know that this challenge is not peculiar to our Bank but to the entire industry.

However, CBN is working tirelessly to resolve issues and we will inform you of any development.

Many thanks.

THIS IS TO ADDRESS OUR FEARS!!!! AM SURE THE ISSUES WITH THEIR SYSTEM WILL BE RESOLVED SHORTLY!
Many thanks. I was getting agitated. I hope the issues are sorted out rapidly and our accounts credited.

Just got a notification that my auction at 15.85 was not successful. Never indicated any stop rate since it was not in the form I filled. I'm so sad right now, waited for 2 weeks and now, it's another awful story.
Which bank was it? Me think this must be FBN. What were they thinking? To rob CBN?

^^ It is not done that way, if wishes were horses... The rates are usually quoted in p.a. which means your fixed deposit at 10% will only give you 10%(less W/H tax) in a year, 5%(approx) in 182 days and 2.5% (less W/H tax) in 91 days. So which is better now? grin grin
Thanks for educating him.

Just called the first bank staff now, she says the bid date is today and was successful but it's still ongoing so I should hold on and she will call me tomorrow but I told her I would be at the bank first thing tomorrow morning. If the bid wasn't successful two weeks ago, why wasn't the money paid into my account then? I didn't write a letter just filled some forms. Please advice.
Since the bid is successful you will be notified tomorrow. Otherwise you should get your money back immediately if it was unsuccessful.

They are trading on your money.. See the manager and demand an apology and a promise that they will never hold on to your money again if the bid is unsuccessful..
