dabossman: Of course we all know they can sabotage things, but again my question is for how long?If the true motive of today's Niger Delta militants like Asari, Tompolo or Boyloaf is resource control, they wouldn't be content with ordinary amnesty handouts and pipeline security contracts for the past eight years since Yar Adua to GEJ. Would Ken Saro Wiwa have been content with amnesty handouts for eight years? I will not be surprised when these guys making threats today start visiting Aso Rock to collect 'settlement should APC win. Don't let them make you cannon fodder bruv. These ones are no threats. The real threats are not yet know. Remember this statement *rephrased*"Niger Delta militants and Boko haram have the same ideology"-American security Expert. |

Have never taken this party seriously. A party that chants "change" every time has the likes of corrupt personified individuals like Atiku, Obj, Saraki, Tinubu, Amaechi, Patricia Etteh, Nyako etc in its fold, and Mr "Integrity" who enjoys the "proceeds" of corruption . Now tell me how can Buhari be a saint among these thieves who sponsor his campaign? How is he gonna fight corruption? Nigerians shine your eyes we are about to be scammed with this "Greek gift", a well packaged dummy from the power brokers called Buhari. |

dabossman: I'm an ardent advocate of resource control because I believe it will force other regions to look inwards and develop their own natural resources rather than depending solely on oil revenue. However, in your honest opinion, would you say that Niger Deltans have been in control of their own oil in the last four years? Has the derivation formula changed to favour them in that period? Like you said to me, I believe you are not a kid either. We all know how these things play out. ...if you had gone through my previous replies to you, would have got where am arriving at. Their position is not all about the "derivation formula" but to prove to the "power brokers" that they can cause a sabotage. Thanks |

dabossman: Agreed. But for how long? Don't forget that Yar Adua initiated the amnesty programme. What if an APC government decides to maintain it? Will the militants continue to be restive? In truth, they are the ones benefiting from amnesty, not the common Niger Deltan. If they are 'settled', will they continue to sabotage the government? This is not all about amnesty, it has been an "established" fact that the region wants to control what belongs to them since "abokis and their concubines have decided to bomb their son out of power". Whatever the case may be now, they have decided to take the bull by the horn at make sure tha Nigeria is brought to her kneels. Just watch out... |

dabossman: Sadly, it will still largely be based on oil revenue. Anyone who thinks that will change within the first year or two is not being realistic. Even 16 years of PDP rule hasn't changed that. However, any serious government can at least put structures in place that clearly show that the country is working towards diversifying the economy within four years.
For all those saying they will 'carry' their oil away; keep deceiving yourselves. I'll believe you when I see you on the front line spraying rounds of bullets out of your AK47. But then you don't know how to handle one do you? I believe you're not a kid to understand the agitation in the Niger Delta region. Surely there must be sabotage from both parties. |
