When one's phone falls into the water, there are generally two kinds of reactions. The first would be to simply order another from an online market while the second would go into panic mode, calculating and regretting all at once.

If you happen to fall into the first category, then this guide most probably isn't for you. If you fall into the second category, commit this to memory. It may come in handy one day.

First and foremost, you should own a screwdriver set. You don't have to be a phone repairer to own this as experience taught me. I didn't own one but luckily for me, a friend's own was with me when my phone decided to go for a swim in Lake Bucketica.

When your phone drops into water, the last thing you should be doing is waiting for it to land. Dive after it! The moment it drops into water especially if it's not waterproof. The earpiece port, the charging/USB port, the mic port, e.t.c. are all pathways for water to flood the phone. After retrieving it, there is only one thing to do next and immediately.

REMOVE THE PHONE'S BATTERY!!

This is very advantageous to those who use phones with removable battery. For those with in-built battery, you have to turn the phone off if it hasn't shut down already and either have to start unscrewing the phone fast or crack the back cover to extract the battery. What use is an intact phone cover if the phone is ruined anyway? The more the battery remains in the phone, the greater damage is being done to the phone. Every second counts.

PLEASE DO NOT CHARGE THE PHONE UNTIL THE END!! NO MATTER WHAT, BE PATIENT!!
I did this and it worsened the phone's condition. Luckily for me, the phone was a toughie and not going down easy without a fight.

After pulling out the battery.. The next thing that comes to mind is how to get the phone completely dry. But this is often the wrong move as I found out. I used heat from a gas stove to dry the phone immediately but I caused another problem. The water that had found it's way to some components of the phone circuitry caused the phone to keep restarting even after drying the phone and nearly scalding my fingers with heat. So what do you do?

1. TAKE THE PHONE APART.
2. WIPE THE CIRCUITS WITH ALCOHOL.

Taking the phone apart is where the main puzzle lies, but it's quite easy. You need to note the flexes and the wires that hold parts of the phone together and gently disconnect them.
Using a brush and alcohol (like methylated spirit; not wine or beer), brush the circuits and phone parts generously but not so much on the screen. After this, you can proceed to drying the phone.

DRYING THE PHONE

Sunlight is often a saver here but nice alternatives are hot air blowers. At a point, I used an improvised 'hot chamber'. I got candles, cut them short into four pieces, lit them and put them in a hard wooden box. Then I dumped the phone parts in it. This served while the rain was pouring outdoors. Some people would recommend putting the phone in rice as a drying method but my heart can't take it. At this point, you can take the phone to a repairman if you don't feel up to it. I intend to see this through myself.

After doing this and was convinced that the phone parts were dried enough, I put the phone together last night and secured it in place with a phone case/pouch but left the screws out for now. The phone has been on and active, charging and discharhing well. I backed up my important stuffs as soon as it came on but in less than five hours from now, it'll be its one day anniversary since its resurrection.

So, there you have it. I hope this helps someone.

After the dramatic League win last season, It was expected that Llandudno would build upon the past success and probably repeat the feats. A couple of players that do not key in with Chyko's plans were sold or left on free transfers.. But so far, there has been no replacements. This left Chyko with a trim squad that may not survive any injury attack. There are rumours of another influx of black players but that is yet to be seen. However such move is not strange, considering how well the earlier signings had performed and the dismal state of his club's finances.
Their European Qualifying fixtures began on a very positive note. After sneaking past Tre Penne on away goals, they produced an even more stunning performance to edge past Malmo; grabbing a goal lead in the return leg to equal the aggregate score and edging past them on penalties after Malmo players failed to find the net in their three attempts, Llandudno converting all of theirs. Would the fairytale continue and give Llandundo their first UCL appearance?
In recognition of their World Cup exploits, Ghana moved up to 15th from 33rd on the FIFA rankings; a continuation of their current performances may see them best their highest ever ranking.

They showed grit in their first game to hold Portugal to a draw, much to the surprise of all and sundry. Their next fixture saw them defeat Switzerland, which was never expected. With Costa Rica up next, a draw was enough to take them to the next round.
They got the result against Costa Rica and advanced to the next stage where they would take on Columbia. After great work to hold Columbia to a draw after extra time, Columbia triumphed ob penalties, sending the Ghanians home, but wih their heads high.
At this point, the doubts the Ghana Football Association had over Chyko's appointment had been cleared and they celebrated the team's sojourn despite the difficulties.
Des Chyko headed out back to Wales, no doubt to prepare the Llandudno squad for their next targets.

Llandudno ended the season with much fanfare. Despite losing out to inferior teams in both cup tournaments, Chyko's men wrapped up the league title to put those shortcomings behind them.
This is much to the decision to sign cheaper better alternatives from the black gold country. Although Work Permits sort of distorted his transfer targets, the few that were able to come across did the job of getting their season back on track. Their outstanding performances week after week ensured they ranked among the league's best players for the season.
Marc Williams, a long-time favourite of the Llandudno faithful even before the arrival of Des Chyko to the club, bonded well with the new boss and turned in the best performance in his career this season. His 27 goals and 2 assists beat every other tally he has had and he was duly named Player of the Year as well as landing the Golden Boot award for this season. It will be interesting to see if Llandudno can hold on to him with a number of clubs interested in his services.
Des Chyko efforts to guide Llandudno to the league title also didn't go unnoticed. He bagged three more monthly awards in total and added the Manager of the Year award to but the gloss on his growing profile.

More good news for Des Chyko's Llandudno from his Ghana stars as they continued their rich vein of form with an occasional stutter here and there but strong enough to help them maintain their lead on the league's top ranks. Soon enough, two of his Ghana signings claimed Monthly award and Runners-up for the month of March in recognition of their fine form.
Llandudnos exited the JD Welsh Cup at the Semi Final stage with a poor but unlucky showing against West End to lose 1-0. Their next match however crowned them league champions as they roared to a 3-0 lead over TNS, their closest rival on the league table. The match ended 4-1.
Chyko would soon fly out for his country managerial duties as Ghana played their last two friendlies in preparation for their rather bleak World Cup future. They won the fixture against Montenegro but lost against Slovenia to compound Chyko's tactical heartache ahead of the World Cup tournament.
