Just send a webform input your UCI and application number and attach your upfront medical sheet and send. With your UCI number and application number IRCC wil be able to identify you and they will forward your medical sheet to the department and visa officer handling your application. Simple, you don’t need to make any call |

BRO my advice is just wait for your decisions or a message from IRCC.. The old rate may be used since you submitted your application before the conversion rate went up... I have a Friend that got his Visa 2weeks ago and he applied second week of May using the old rate..He said if that the new rate was used for his application, his POF would have not been enough but to his surprise, His visa came out..So just wait and be positive.. Aghoghomena: Well, in my SOP, I stated it clearly that my business account is different from the account I used as POF strictly for the purpose of my studies. There were 3 different occasions I transferred funds from my Business account to the account I used as POF as shown in my POF account. My SOP shows that I have 3 different running businesses, and I stated that my wife who has been running these businesses with me will take charge for the period I will be away for my studies to ensure that I do not run out of funds. Please, note that I supported my claims with official and court documents, as well as pictoral evidences. |

Your Visa application can't be denied because your traditional statement was bulky.. You can only be refused if your bulky statement of account was not visible enough as a result of excessive compressing of your SOA pages.... I stand to be corrected.. People have submitted traditional statements of account of 200 pages and their visa was approved.. just make sure u don't over compress your account statement so much that it becomes difficult to see.. jimash: Did you submit POF traditional or you used MBS, because i was denied because i used traditional POF and its bulky. |

A friend of mine got his visa few days ago for a one year course and he applied last week of may with 10m POF and he paid first semester fee of 8kcad and your POF is not low, your Pof is good 19.5m..leme ask these questions 1. Did you add properties, 2.do you work in Nigeria or you own a business(if u own a business, did you submit TCC, CAC documents business invoices/ receipt 3. Did you have lump sum in ur POF.. 19.5m is a very good POF as long as u provide evidence of how you plan to continue sponsor urself during the 2 years Cos sometimes these VO considers how will you be able to continue to sponsor yourself if you leave your job in Nigeria or you leave your business without anyone to manage it Phamoxy: 19.5m POF, yes paid first semester tuition fee of 2.3million 3894 cad out of 12,484 for one year ... Just be positive, I think the rate at the day you submitted is what will be used.. I applied before the rate when up too... your POF is still high nau with the new rate 46kcad.. the minimum required amount is 10kcad for living expenses and 1year tuition.. be positive.. my pof went from 37kcad to 25kcad as the rate change.. A frnd of mine that applied before the rate went up got his PPR few days back. He applied middle ot may and got his PPR 5days ago.. so be positive.. it will come out well. francophone134: using new rate as a basis for denial is highly unjustifiable. When I submitted, rate was 345, now 536. Is difference not significant. Is currency suppose to increase in that manner? My POF of 81k cad has turned 46k cad. Mtcheeww.... |

Omo. Mans tired and confused about this sudden change in exchange rate My own issue now is that In those IMM forms I filled.. I stated I had 35kcad available for the period of my studies and my sponsor acc balance was about 38kcad with the old rate oh before june 15th but now with the new rate, my sponsor 38kcad has turn to 28kcad, it won't longer tally with the information I filled on the IMM form.. I have paid almost my full first year tuition deposit of almost 12kcad remaining 6kcad balance , so if IRCC use the new rate the 28kcad would be enough? As my sponsor has properties and means to pay my 2nd year schoolfee and expenses.. Accessed: Well, No one is sure about what IRCC will do concerning POF and the new rates. But I shudder to think that our steep fall in naira could very well be interpreted as a 'Drastic Change'. Unfortunately, as @Showyoung guessed, I'm afraid they may decide to adopt the rate as at day of review over application date which appears logical although unfair to applicants who apparently based their projections on the old rates.
Indeed, it will be inhuman to reject applications made before June 14th solely on the basis of insufficiency of the POF (at the new rate) especially if opportunity is not given for an updated statement to atleast match the current rate. Maybe, we can be proactive and start sending updated statements to match new rates via webform? Heavy lumpsum wahala!
I reckon that the fair thing to do is to treat applications before June 14th based on the old rates and the current applications on the new rates. Hopefully, they reason along this line!
Another issue is the wide variation in the daily rates. It was N485 to 1 CAD on the 15th, then N451 to 1 CAD on the 16th. Maybe an average over a period is what they will adopt if the range continues to be this wide. |

Would it be Wise to send a webform to IRCC informing them the rate it was as at when you submitted your application.. because alot of pple that submitted before june 15th will be affected if the new rate is used to calculate theIR POF. Mackie1: No that isn't true! The rate at the date you submitted is what would be used to quantify. "Unless there's a drastic change" .
This is according to IRCC.
What counts as a drastic change is now up to IRCC. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Dessymond394: 5:28pm On Jun 16, 2023 |
Hello bro What about pple that already applied for their visa before june 15th change in exchange rate.. do you think IRCC would use old exchange rate to calculate their POF as at when the submitted their application? Or the new rate will be used to calculate the POF of those that applied bfr the change in rate.. what do you think? ShowYoung: Thank you for this. Kindly let me add to it.
IRCC uses official CBN exchange rate in calculating theirs. The rate shown by IRCC is the same as that of CBN.
As of now, USD 1/NGN 588.95. and USD 1/CAD 1.31. If you use those rates above, you will arrive at NGN 1 = CAD 0.0022 or NGN 485 = 1 CAD.
The same thing is reflected on IRCC website but in NGN-to-CAD format which amounts to approximately 0.0022: meaning NGN 1 is equivalent to CAD 0.0022. Whenever I see rates expressed in this format, I do laugh. Our 1 Naira is not even up to 1 cent not to talk of a dollar. It is approximately one-fifth of a cent (1 cent divided by 5).
