I feel wht u say abt not throwing everything at a design. I desinged everything in photoshop (another rule broken i guess). it is a software tht i'm just getting to know and so i tend to want to experience evrything on it once. I ll say tht 4 now i am like a child tht just walked into a newly opened candy store. I want to lick it all at a go, so to say. So pls indulge me 4 d now. I'm sure with time and with helpful tips and criticisms like this from guys like u i wld ve taken care of those lapses u mentioned.

Ur point indeed is a big criteria, but i believe there are cases where tht is not needed depending on the mediums (sometimes restricted) on which d logo ll be used.

Pls help me a helpful criticism. I wld like to know some reasons why this one won't fly. Thanks 4 ur help sirs.

Not bad at all bro. My suggestion is tht u tapper of both ends of d curve tht is just under texts rather than leaving it hard edged. You cld also change d fonts to a more 'dramatic' one considering this is a media logo.

I'm nt much of a good designer 'yet' but I know a good concept when i see one, and i shld say this one is.

I wld suggest though, u placing d image just above d texts in the basics like u did with d first one. U cld try tht and then make a comparism. Tht i believe wld take care of the 'seemingly' bulkyness, as putting everything side by side kinda makes d whole look like a single over-stretched image. In other words, the first one looks more compact but the others are nicer.
Just my views though.

U shld enter this into one of those logo contest in some of em popular logo sales sits out there, i believe it wld get some good attention there.

The guy that sent d request did nt state what d company does. He already had d idea of what he wanted, i.e d black text and d bulls eye thing in d place of 'O'; tht plane.

It was an informal request so I did nt think it necessary to probe 4 more info. I guess all he wanted was to make the logo glossy and attractive, and tht kinda was my focus.

For the 4th one, I wanted d guy to see wht d 1st one wld look like on an office glass door or window. So d peanut lookin background is not realy peanuts but a glass image, it's not part of d design.
U wld say I chose d wrong kinda glass.

very good one. the color tone of the image is just African.

though i would suggest you had left the original ear ornament to dangle from the same position. you could add some shadows just under the ornament to give the impression that it is resting on the map.

I have always felt that the African map is the only map amongst all other continents that have got a real shape.

Some commendations wld be liked but i need a knowlegable graphic designer to talk a bit abt the font syle, arrangement, choice of color, anything not quit sitting right, things like tht. Yes i just started graphic designing, but tht don't mean i don't ve the eyes to see when something is wrong with a work (i do nt think u need to know much to be able to do tht). Like i mentioned in my initial post, i ve got the inherent talent and ideas. Even a total novice shld see there is something wrong with tht photo.
I dont see wht's to gain claiming i dont know even when i know. Tht is bad business. It shld be d other way around.
I beleive my comment on tht photo was a positive one. I honestly did nt mean to ruffle any feather on tht.
So pls cool steam brother. Let us continue to help ourselves.

Thanks a lot velo for the tip. A schl is something tht is deeply on my mind. Just dont know any in particular here in lagos tht would help, considering the financial cost. I would like to earn some while learning on the job at thesame time. Like a freelancer kind. Doesn't matter the amount for now.
