For one, the Government had already made a commitment to the fight in the first place. The man is simply asking tht they honor their word.

Secondly, the man is not saying he wants to fight and beat the klicthko brothers. All he asking for is a chance (for a Nigerian) to be in the Guiness book as 'the oldest man to fight in a ring' whether he wins or looses.

The general assumption tht he is going to die on the ring is all tht it is 'an assumption'.

This man is bold. Let us encourage tht spirit.
Stop these defeatist attitude.

See how Nigerians think one-sidedly. We just dont want to see the bigger picture.
If this were to be a white community this man wld be supported by the people (however old he may be). This is because they wld know in the back of their mind tht this man even though it seems tht he is fighting for himself, in the real sense he is fighting for something much bigger.
When (if) some day some of u who ve jocked on this man's expense wld ve the cause to run to the Government for help and you get ignored then u wld see the significance of his actions.

The blacks and other ethnic groups in America did not over whelmingly vote for Obama simply because he was handsome and charismatic. They voted for him because they knew tht tht was d chance they had to brake tht jinxs and open the way for evry other tribes to take a surer shot at leadership in America.
This man Bash Ali is not fighting for himself alone he is fighting (unknowingly maybe) for the liberty of U and I.
Think outside the box Nigeria.

And i was reading the stupid comment one NLer had to say abt girls being only interested in relationships, gossips and sanitry pads. I wish tht guy is seeing this and being put to shame.

This kind of achievement by a woman can only happen in an environment were women are allowed to be free to express, and are not caged behind veils all in the name of piety.

Let the power of God be shown in and through evry kind be it male or female.

For the record. I am Male.

IslamRe: A Quranic View On Boko Haram And The Muslim's Perspective by Dewze(m):
If all wht d OP has said be true, then muslims (especialy those in the north) shld strive to become more muslims and less Arabs (like the muslims in the south).
I wish the OPs post was directed more to the elites and leaders of Islam (e.g. The supreme leader Ayatolah in Iran) .The majority of muslims (as well christains) are just mere pawns to the politics of power play by the elites (who usualy know better). It has always been like this and will always be like this (as long as man lives on this earth).
GOD IS NOT AN ARAB NEITHER IS HE ENGISH.
So muslim brothers and sisters posting on NL I wld ask u to stop those 'Arabic' quotes and languages u include in ur posts and instead convey those same words in a translation which is more general to us here (english as the case may be or even in ur own native tounge). When u are in an Arabic speaking forum u can spill out as much Arabic quotes as u wld like at them.

@yeboyes. Though i don't support these arguments but i think u ve got better poins than evry other so far.
On point.wink
PoliticsRe: Boko-Haram Was Planning To Declare Their Own Country - Tukur by Dewze(m):
@truly. It is obvious u are quite ignorant of the bakassi situation, how it all started and how it led to what it is now. I dont know how old u r and so i wld nt assume tht u were nt born by the time of the civil war. Even so u shld go and read more abt the situation and then come back with better arguments. It ll not be reasonable to think tht Cameroon ( a small nation compared to Nigeria) ll just wake up one morning and say ' hey, we like tht land and so we are going to take it'. Tht wld be impossible. Read the facts tht led to the judgement and then come back with points based on facts. That is the point I'm trying to make here.
Judging by all ur arguments so far it is like these nationalists hve more information abt ur country than u that is trying to defend it. Not a fair fight bro (information is power).
Drop the argument bro. It is the wise choice for u as 4 now.
PoliticsRe: Boko-Haram Was Planning To Declare Their Own Country - Tukur by Dewze(m):
@truly. My bro have u thot abt it. What if it was the other way around? Are u trying to say tht Nigeria wld not ve tried to claim bakkassi if they saw d opportunity like Cameroon did (knowing d economic viability of the land). Do u think tht Nigeria wld ve treated those dwellers much better if they put up resistance. My bro the Nigeria I know wld nt ve done better.
Evry country I know goes out for it's best interest.
I'm nt speaking for or against anyone here but i just think this ur point of argument against these Cameroonians in defence of ur own country is just not solid enough is just simply sentiment rooted. Look 4 good points to throw at these guys or drop the argument.
For the record, I'm a Nigerian.
PoliticsRe: Boko-Haram Was Planning To Declare Their Own Country - Tukur by Dewze(m): 6:05pm On May 16, 2013
@cameroonpride. I agree with some of ur points bro.
I've always echoed this and I wish to say it here again (even if it's not directly related to the original post).
'GOD IS NOT AN ARAB'.

pls African(black) muslims sit down by urselves and think deeply abt this.

@seglan. I wld like to ask if you first tried to reach tht neighbour of urs and sell the beauty of the idea to him before allowing his bad habit to influence ur good habit? I cld say u were of a higher reasoning than tht neighbour of urs b4 u brought urself down to his level.

'My neighbour refuses to clean up his gutter and so I will stop cleaning mine and when the flood comes it will wash both of us away'. Shld I call tht fairness or a bit of insanity?
PoliticsRe: Why Do Nigerians Leave Their Light Bulbs On In Day Time. by Dewze(op): 1:45pm On May 16, 2013
The electricity tht is distributed to your house is first stored somewhere, just like ur UPS stores power for ur computers. Those tht ve a UPS at home or in the office shld know how this works. The more indiscriminately u use this power at a given time the less it is available for u at other times. Tht is part of the reasons why PHCN shares any available power btwn streets and communities (i.e 6hrs for this area and the next 6hrs for the other area).
Believe me, if we change this bad habit we wld be having more hours of power supply at a given time, not necessarily lower tariffs but more hours of power. It is a give and take situation here.

Wisdom Nigerians, wisdom.

@tolexander. Well, tht is a more reasonable excuse to consider, but how abt d ones tht even while in their shops/stores still leave these 'outside' lights on?
PoliticsRe: Why Do Nigerians Leave Their Light Bulbs On In Day Time. by Dewze(op): 12:21pm On May 16, 2013
@koonbey. Tht seems to be the only excuse i hear when i ask this question. But tht sounds pretty lame don't u think? You can't shoot yourself in the foot on the excuse that you want to maximize the bullets in your expensive gun.
PoliticsRe: Why Do Nigerians Leave Their Light Bulbs On In Day Time. by Dewze(op): 11:39am On May 16, 2013
Is it that we are ignorant of the fact that this habit has a big effect on the current supply in our residence?

Yes the system is not the way it should be but i beleive our attitudes can go a long way in minimizing the effect of the rot.
PoliticsWhy Do Nigerians Leave Their Light Bulbs On In Day Time. by Dewze(op): 11:32am On May 16, 2013
Just wondering why Nigerians ve the habit of leaving light bulbs on during the day even in places that they are not needed. Take a walk along a typical lagos street on an afternoon when they is power and you see almost all outside light bulbs on, both in shops and residential building. Obviously these lights are not being used at these times. Nigerians complain abt low current when(if) there is power yet the wisdom tht switching off these bulbs when and where not needed wld help (a great deal) in improving the supplies in our houses seems to be absent.

No person (leader) is encouraged to help the people when the are not first willing to help themselves.

PoliticsRe: ACN Condemns Declaration Of State of Emergency! by Dewze(m): 4:59pm On May 15, 2013
Judging from all comments so far I would say the ACN has shot itself in the foot this time.
They shld ve just kept quiet for a few months, watch the mood of the people and see how it all plays out before making a statement.
It takes much more wisdom and tactics to be an opposition especialy in a country like Nigeria where reactionary sentiment is rife.

@blackman. When u say humanity in that context does not include infidels pls put up a Quran passage tht supports ur claim. Tht is a better way to teach.

Too many people (so called infidels) have been killed (instead of being healed) in the name of context.
