1. Nigeria pays a subsidy of N70 at least to keep prices at N145.

2. And if Benin and Niger...whose populations are POORER than Nigeria...can pay higher..so can we.
1. You have proof of this?

2. Still this doesn't hold water.

Plus, if poor countries like Niger and benin pay higher...and they are poorer than we are, why shouldun't we.
This your analogy doesn't hold water, please.

Basically, reality is setting in.

The government cannot afford subsidy anymore. This was evident as far back as 2012...but we Nigerians refused to take a hint...

Time we removed subsidy. The whole thing is encouraging smuggling, and is becoming unfit for purpose.
Please chief, how many times will we remove subsidy? I'm not getting this anymore. angry
Politics › Re: Nigerian Senate Proffers State Police, Proper Funding As Solutions To Banditry by dfrost: 7:05am On Apr 12, 2019
TheAlchemist:
State police combined with local police is the only way forward for improved security, intelligence gathering, to ensure that some states such as Lagos that wants to run a 24hours economy can do so in peace; to quickly detect aliens within the community, to have a more organised database of incidences within the locality, to improve security agencies response time to community crises. With the emergence of state and community policing you can now hold the governors accountable for any crises within their state. The vice president is also an adherent support for the establishment of state police. Those shouting that we are not ready for state police, should we also scrap the state legislature. Foreign investors will only invest in a country where there are guarantees of safety of lives and properties. We have over the years seen the pitfalls of a federal police structure with the high level of centralisation and bureaucracy time to rejig the security structure for the benefit of all Nigerians.
We are not ready for it.

A federal minister controls the army the way he wants not to talk of the Governor controlling the police.

That's will be chaotic.

state police will be a good one but I fear they ll be worse than fed police in due course considering the way state traffic agencies have fared so far
We just can't and shouldn't have state police run in a tribalistic country. Forget it. The cons outweigh the pros.

Obviously not now.

This is getting out of hand. The ones meant to protect the citizens are killing them. Overseas it's white police killing black people but here black police killing their fellow black people. It's just so sad.
It has always been black killing blacks. The number of people who die out of the hands of fellow blacks are more than the ones the police kill in US.

Yes, you are right. But you also know that some people can't create happiness on their own. It's really tough on the female folk because of societal dependencies. Only that some of them have a foul mouth and read negative intentions into proper motives.
