Yes. One of my old friends recently told me. His name is Benjamin 'Kokoro' Aderounmu.

Seriously, mingling with old folks adds to your knowledge.

What are they reading these days if they are no longer reading those books
The thing tire me. I was ordering some books online and each cost about $8.50. My colleague asked me why don't I download the softcopy.

I guess he doesn't understand what it means to own a classic and smile at them when they are sitting comfortably in the shelves of your library.

Thanks ChappyChase for the correction. Old Ben was a donkey. I mixed them up.

Did you happen to read this Nigerian literature of a guy that went on a revenge mission because his betrothed fiancee was given to another man to marry? I can't remember the name of the literature

Another example is DSTV(multichoice). That is why you're forced to pay 13k. No competition.
Exactly. HiTV almost tried but couldn't last. Let me cite an example that will mage is understand better.

How many switching companies do we have in Nigeria? Do you know?

There's a saying that "great men become great when others are sleeping." The last time I checked, Dangote isnt stopping other businessmen from growing.
I never said he did. He definitely had the backing of most governments. Ever read of what happened to Soviet Union when it broke up? Most monopolies have the backing of the government.

If monopoly is allowed to continue, large percentage of employees will earn petty wages/salary while few will earn more. No competition to threaten the market holders.

Not too far example is MTN and Globacom. MTN insisted that PSB is not possible until Globacom came and hit the market. Where do you think we would have been of there was no competition?

How many examples should I cite? Coca Cola, 7Up Bottling Company, Toyota, Hyundai?

Let competition thrive and the consumers will know the best place to pitch their tent.

Like I said earlier, I like his business acumen. Exploring opportunities. Ciao.

I hope we disagree to agree. wink

Brush mouth, take peppermint, tom tom, baba blue, mouth rinse et al. Alcohol will still be perceived. Better avoid it totally before the interview.

To imagine that he scored zero, got the admission and started jubilating is a serious concern on both parties.

1. The rot is our system is so bad that we don't care how things should be done, but it should be done one way or the other, legit or not.

2. The institution should be ashamed that they are actually doling out such a result.

3. Imagine posting this on social media for the whole world to see. huh

Although by early 90s, I was just leaving primary school and about to enter secondary school, I still had the opportunity to read some of the books listed here because my late elder brother was in the Arts division then.

Trials of Brother Jero
She Stoops to Conquer
Macbeth - my dad had this in his library way back
Julius Caesar - ¿E tú Brutus?
Animal Farm - Benjamin the old donkey
The Bottled Leopard
Romeo and Juliet Anthills of the Savannah
Merchant of Venice

what a beautiful childhood.

Quality post. No need to defend the case. We need to go back to the drawing board. Both parties are to blame for the issues raised by the op.
