It is stated clearly that the first $500 tuition deposit to be made on or before 11 of next month is not refundable.

However was thinking the rest could be refunded if requested for it timely, particularly God forbid, in a case of failed visa application.

Thank you for this all the same, don't have even $500 to throw away to one school outside sevis, visa fee etc.

I will wait for the other school response, tho the deadline to accept the current admission given to me will elapse before I receive admission and GA decision feedback from this second institution.

Your condition is very similar, if not exactly same with what Temple University gave me. To pay a nonrefundable part tuition of $500 to secure my admission slot before end of this month.

After GC told me they don't give full funding, I just let it slide.

I believe schools that request for deposit don't usually give full funding. Except you are not after full tuition like myself. Pls run from the school

Also, ask the GC about funding. Mail faculty members of your program that you have mutual Research and about open positions that you may be considered for. Also, ask the GC about Teaching Assistant positions in your department.

This time around, the school already sent me the
GA offer letter and some other supporting document for the GA offer.

VO picks the i20 and checked for the GA on the i20.( which was boldly written in the i20)
The next thing I heard was:

VO: sorry bla bla bla

She didn't even ask for the documents the previous VO asked me to provide.

I am thinking of applying to the University also (uni of Missouri) but I just found out they don't accept WES and TOEFL is not automatically waived. How did u went about yours, did u submit TOEFL or it was waived?

Received email for the confirmation that it got delivered. neccesary payment has been made. I was referring to my school in which I still have to pay for evaluation when WES resend mail to confirm the documents.

You might have to pay your school again to verify your certificate.

The mistake u made was not sending your certificate early. WES would have sent both your certificate and transcript back to your school for verification.

I just hope your school doesn't charge you to verify the cert.

I have been having slightly the same issue, but a bit worse. I submitted all my documents, and my institution has sent verification to WES. WES confirmed receipt of the verification and updated my status to "Evaluation in progress" without a due date of completion. This was on the 30th December 2019. Since then my status has from "Evaluation in progress" to "On Hold" two times now, each time WES sending me this email:

Thank you for submitting your credentials for evaluation to World Education Services (WES).

We are committed to preparing evaluations based on documents that are accurate and valid. Due to the increased incidence of fraud, WES conducts a secondary verification of documents.

This is to advise you that WES has sent photocopies of your documents for verification both electronically and by standard postal mail to University of Benin. Your WES file is on hold until we receive a written response from this institution.

Response times vary and can take just a few days or can extend to weeks. If we do not receive a response from the institution within seven weeks, we will automatically send another request. There is nothing that you need to do at this time. This communication is strictly between WES and the institution.

Please note that you are responsible for the documents submitted under your name. If any document submitted under your name is found to be fraudulent, WES will not evaluate any other document you submitted. Right now my account status is reading "On Hold". I am confused as to what to do, because each time I call to ask what exactly the problem is, the guys on the customer care line have no clue, they just give you rehearsed responses and read exactly what you can see on your screen, as if you don't have access to your account . If i ask if the nature of the verification sent by my institution was adequate, all I get is "We cannot ascertain that, as that communication is between WES and the institution". My school is yet to receive any sort of re-evaluation of any sorts. Please, can anyone explain to me the hell is going on, this whole WES episode quite frustrating; to even think that I had crossed the greatest hurdle of getting transcripts and verification sent from this our quack Nigerian university offices.

Hi, few things you can do, first, go on twitter and message them there, let them know your school replied already, why is your account still showing on hold. If u don't get a response after two days, message them again. It could be a human error.

They will tell u what is going on and why they need another verification.

Yeah, for Kansas State, you will have to apply for funding while filling your application.

Hi everyone, I registered to 4 schools that doesn’t request English proficiency exam from Nigerians/ degree earn in Nigeria. I registered and submitted to University of Kansas in a haste just to meet up with the application deadline ; 7/01/2020 (for funding). After submission, it now dawned on me that Nigeria is not included as part of the English proficiency waived countries; this was a rude shock considering the fact that Kansas state university waived TOEFL/IELTS for Nigerians and shared similar deadline with the former.

I sent a message to the department but they are currently on break until 6/01/2020. Well, I somehow crossed my mind and not to think of the worse possible outcome.

However, do anyone know if any Nigerian(s) get admission and funding to Uni of Kansas without English proficiency exam ?

By the way, intended program is MA Political Science with GRE score- 318

Yes. After the evaluation is done. You will need your official copy to apply to schools. Many that have used the usual post office don't get it delivered. I got my evaluation report 4th day after it was completed.

My advise for you is to pay the $280 for WES and Courier delivery after the evaluation is done. It will save you a lot of stress.

I wouldn't know about other schools in Ohio. Contact the graduate college or international office for more information.
