Hello mamas, my one year old has been battling with cattarh for some days now,his nose is blocked and he breathes with hus mouth,this makes it difficult for him to sleep at night. I have been to the Dr and they gave him pcm n vit.c and i was advised to do steam inhalation for him with mentholethum. I have done it tire but his nose is till blocked, i even use hot water with towel to massage his body and i put shea butter in his nostrils n all but its still same. What again can i do pls?

I do use hot ginger tea for dd and it works.
ingredients: Ginger(dry, wet or grinded), garlic, and honey

Process:
pound or blend the ginger and galric. add water to the mixture and boil it.
when boiled, leave to cool so it will be saturated with the ginger and garlic,
add honey and give as tea. (Note; if the ginger is too hot, add more water for the baby)

that's what i have been using for the whole family and it works well.

They just repeat what they've heard other people say DILs do.

Now I'm not saying there aren't bad DILs. There must be since badness comes in all shapes and sizes but only an insane person would pray for the death of someone they've never met.
The way I keep hearing this same line repeated over and over like its a norm makes me wonder if I've been living under a rock that I don't encounter these multitude of mad ladies that pray for the deaths of MILs they've never met.

Edd was supposed to b 20 Feb o. I was at work this morning around 7am when i started havn menstrual like cramps. I dnt thnk mch of it bt my instinct told me to leave d office by nine am cos it ws gettn more frequent. i still felt d baby de do shakara. i decided to take a walk to my moms place..nt too far from my office. I was there when i felt a sudden gush of liquid from my V. it was brown and so much..Around 10 am my water broke. So messy...reality nw dawned on me. My hubby came to pick me and we arrived d hosp around sm mins to one.. I was 6-7cm dilated when i was first examined..d yeye docs were nw saying my water had meconium that is baby had pooed in me. They scared me by looking for fetal heartbeat..na so dem no hear anythn o .shuo! I cm de fear o..They doc examined d cervix again n told d nurses that i was fully dilated and dey shd cm n take delivery..i was stunned..now now! My sisters, it can only b God oo. d doc askd me if i knew hw to push and I said d Lord will teach me..na so we cm start oo..i de grunt...lol..there were more than 5 medical personnel in that room..all of them shouting push...na so d doc told d nurse to cut me o ...dt one was doing sme sme..d doc shouted that she shd cut it well..i felt it oo..choi! not long after that i pushd like i wanted to use d toilet n mi baby gal cm out..dey put her on my chest...at 1:15pm. Sexy borning. #FTM. D labour no even pain me like that...d stitches were painful...m sure i was stitched more than 20 times and d wicked doctor did not have mercy on me...I was glad when it was over sha...

Rejoice with me friends, family, well wishers and clients. Finally it's a wrap. I gave birth to a BOY and GIRL TWIN this afternoon via VD, no tears, no complications. I kept cool all through. this topic is an African problem. I remember when i was in secondary school, some girls always pray that their mil is dead before they marry, then i do pray for God to meet her alive and she should be my other mum, God does answers prayers.

mil is very nice and straight forward, she is very kind as she loves her son like kilode, that love is transferred to me. she was with me in my first pregnancy a month before i delivered. after i put to bed, 6 weeks, she washed baby and my clothes, cooked for me and makes sure i sleep well. she is God sent.
she always tells me how nice her mil was to her.
I think she is just a good woman cos that's exactly how she is to her other son's wife too. she is a genius. and i always try to make her happy.

Most of these wicked women also had their share of wickedness and they are transferring the aggression.
wish all of those with wicked and mean mil will also not turn out to be mean when the time comes.

1. Does he have any sister?
2. is his mum alive and living with his dad?
3. is this your first preggy?
4. Are you the only wife?

based on experience gathered from people, i realise men that were brought up by single mothers tend towards this direction cos mum does everything for them. they are not trying to be wicked but that's how they were brought up.

For those that don't have sisters atall, they tend to be less caring to women.

there is no superwoman anywhere o. if he doesnn't want his niece to help you, abeg get help that will come do the cleaning and pay from ur salary if u are working, if you are not, save from house upkeep to pay the help abeg ooooooooooooooooooo, no form jet li ontop preggy o
now, possible solutions.

1. stop complaining about being tired, act tired. slow down on the work.
2. try make him read books about preggy. (this works alot as dh was even more aware of preggy issues cos he read alot and was even the one always calming me when i get depressed).
3. see, i also do not like dirty environment but you need to learn to overlook somethings if he is not ready to help you. you are not a machine, and the earlier you take it slow, the less you will break down.
4. Are you working ? if yes, take every step easy, i tell you sometimes, i get home and form so weak that we end up drinking garri. its not that i can't cook but i just know i need to slow down.

For now try these, i pray it works. as soon as i get more ideas, i will let you know

dominique, please go for another test for confirmation in a government hospital. most of the so called private health institutions (hospitals, labs etc) are profit making ventures and are not really very reliable.

after the test, you will know what next to do.
i used to be very ill when young but am not ss, so it may be a mistake on the part of the lab technicians.

but if its confirmed, then talk to your doctors and know how best to manage it, there are many ss that managed theirs well and you can hardly know. just be ready to stand strong.

i have started buying things but have not registered ante-natal. have been in a dilemma, the hospital i used for dd have been on strike, i had a bad experience with the private i registered, (my lo was ill an i took her there, only for them to use torch to be searching her vein, they also kept us on the bed without observing us and just collected almost 9k and gave us drug of about 1,500.) that's when i decided to flee. i didn't even attend any anc.
the other govt hospital am contemplating going there this Friday. i just hope God will favor me. so i don't even know what to pack for the hospital yet.

Sayoddy, its best u reduce your stay at mil cos i forsee more trouble, how can dhe go shopping without ur consent? Am not a shopping person so i told mil to do it but if i was, i won't allow her. Am also yoruba but there is something av realised in life,, those trying to avoid trouble are those that enter it most. For me i treat every issue as it happens. What i won't take, i tell mil straight "mumy, ko possible" in a very firm tone. Yoruba or no yoruba culture, some people are domineering and always eant to control those they can. For such people i know how to burst their bubble.
