I totally agree with this.
Especially our brothers up north.

No government can create job for everyone,

Our population is damm high yet our political leaders are shying away from that ugly trend.
Can u image a poor shoe shiner having 3 wives and 21 children,
Isn't that a security risk on it's own.

.
This is not only common to the north.
Southerners will have 1 wife , 12 children. Lets address it as an issue and not basing it on any zone. This is when we can get it right.

Thats one of the reasons we all need to have the number of children we can cater for by Gods grace not doing competition with the no. of children somebody has.

If na 1 u fit cater for and plan ur own retirement then do so. And be happy

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by dhabeautyjas(f): 9:01pm On Feb 25, 2020
Tjayelbee:
Some of you are very funny and myopic!

Most of our institutions in the North are embodiment of character and learning. I pray you get into this same NNPC that you’re bitter about and see the representation of the Northerners that you think were ‘favored’ by federal character. You’d be shocked to the bones. Most of the high-fliers in most of the sets either in DPR or NNPC and her subsidiaries are of northern extraction. This is mostly simply because they have matched capacity with character. It is not by gra-gra or ‘baffing up’ or your so called exposure or even sharp practices. Noise as we know it, is made by empty drums. This same arrogance and low self confidence you display at every opportunity and instance will be your downcast identity if you ever get into the corporation.
We don’t buy certificates, we equally don’t forge it. Its either we have it or we don’t. We hold our 2.2s and 3s with pride because it’s the result of our input. So do we our 2.1s and 1st. It’s not a do or die thing for us.
Some years back, I remember an NNPC recruitment that the panelists discovered most 2.1 graduates of Geology from University of Maiduguri and ABU performed better than the very many 1st class graduates that came from the south, especially east! Not to boast or anything, in my masters class in the UK, there were instances we helped a lecturer with the Geology aspect of his course because he wasn’t a Geologist. Our colleagues from other parts had this same mentality you all are displaying at the very beginning of the programme year.. “these malo guys no sabi anything”. I promise you by the end of that program the difference was beyond clear. We had five DPR staff, 3 from the north, 2 from the west. Boy ol’boy, those guys were top notch. Even after so many years in the field, the Engineering that was still in them was just awesome. Aliyu was not very outspoken, perhaps you’d laugh at his accent, but that man was an all-rounder, damn. Abu was eloquent and top notch, those in the industry may know him because of unionism. Tola was quiet but he knew virtually everything. Great guys I tell you. I concluded that year that there really was merit in DPR recruitments.

You see, we are hardly the nagging or complaining type. We make do with what is at hand and forget what puts us in bewilderment. We don’t trouble our hearts. We have have alot of pointers to what we can say are our problems with the south and how they are also causing untoward hardship and embarrassments to the rest of Nigerians especially by their actions in the diaspora, but you don’t find us hampering on these things or castigating the whole region. Even in the north, we know that alot of easterners contribute to our woes.. kidnapping our children to the east, importing hard drugs and making fat cash in the north. The ones doing legitimate spare parts business have complete monopoly of the business, you dare not try to join in - we don’t any way cuz we’re happy with that balance. They easily own lands and mansions without any hassle because we believe they’re entitled to as long as they got the purchasing power. Can you dare do that in the east? Lot’s of you come for the 1 year NYSC and find it difficult to go back to your places, yet you insult us at the slightest instance. We have housed southern corpers in gov’t lodges, we have posted them to even the Government House, we have encouraged them to stay afterwards. Heck, we give appointments in Govt to southerners who have stayed with us for long. This is the kind of energy we expect in return, or at worst bear with us as we grow.
Now what will shock you the most is the South can only say they are educationally ahead of the North statistically i.e percentage-wise. But in terms of sheer numbers it’s insane to think that the North is behind. This is not unrelated to our population vis-a-viz the current aggressive drive for education, Although much more needs to done. We have issues, there’s no denying. The West is one and only region that is holistically education-driven, and they put it to good use. They form part of the network that salvage the image of the country in the diaspora.. y’know Professors in various fields and some even serve in foreign governments.
Economic status of the North and Northerners that is generally overlooked by mainstream statistical indices is a topic for another day.

In essence, let’s respect ourselves and our differences. I am sorry for derailing this thread but it’s a result of Newton’s 3rd law.

Peace!
I wish i can like this more than once. Chai.. U just hit the nail on the hard head of some empty drums..
Mind you am not a northerner but i schooled in the north and can relate. God bless you for this beautiful and sequentially arranged write up.

However, you're covering up some very vital info.....how many kids has she with her late husband ?

She is a working class........what the hurry for dicck just few months after her husband demise ?

The husband died as a result of an accident........instantly or he made it to the hospital ?

What's her relationship with the new man when her husband was alive...?

For how long was she married to the late husband ?...etc

Nevertheless, a virtuous women as we're all made to believed are attached to their spouse even when he is no more......examples everywhere.

The so called examples are mostly scared of the stigma attached by 'men like you ' thats why most of them chose to live in misery rather than be happy.

But.....
If you have ever promised her marriage, make it clear you can't marry her and see if they will use the job as a bait. If so, then leave d job. God will provide you with another job.

Don't deceive her to get the job, karma is real.

Maybe, because I really don't get it.

During weddings, the preachers usually give sermons on how forgiveness is the key to a successful marriage and I see everyone nodding in agreement. But on nairaland a certain dude is saying women don't forgive and he's literally having the most likes on the thread which basically implies that the women on here actually agree they are unforgiving beings.

We just love living a lie, don't we?

forgiveness is good, but are u encouraging men to keep being calous to their women and the women should just keep forgiving since they are women.
Most women are going through alot and they hardly say it out just to protect the men, if the table was turned, the men will tell every tom dick and harry adding lies to make their story sweet.
Nobody is even seeing the kind of pain she had endured over time. None of you is bothered about her physical and emotional trauma, all u care about is for her to remain there.
A woman thats not working mostly endure pain and hardship (only few strong ones will say no cos most fear for their future and would rather die) ,now she is fit to take care of herself and u still want her to keep enduring. Thats wickedness.
If this story had been the other way round, am sure u will still blame the woman for not representing the man well in his new status. double standards if i may say.

This was why women were denied economic power in the olden days. They depended solely on the male folks (even if hubby dies they move her to his brother or another male in the family) they Could not escape abuse and even death. They had no hope living alone away from their husbands or husband family. If they even took the bold step to return home, Mothers would shoo them back to their husbands houses/families for fear of being shamed as a mother/father who welcomes back a married daughter. Greedy brothers and uncles would not give them land to do anything. They had to endure all types of shit in husbands House for the sake of their children who depend on the economic power of fathers to survive. Today women can earn their living, they can move on with their lives and not starve. Although society still expects women to eat shit nd endure, many bold women opt out of difficult marriages

Very true. Many women were living in hell: while being brainwashed that the hell in marriage is better than heaven outside, they were restricted from economic independence cos they know this is what making the women endure the pain as they are scared of the unseen and unexpected.

If the military authorities decide to let him go it will be because they are sure his condition will not let him continue his trainning well. There is no justification whatsoever for anyone to go out of his way to commit any crime because of his misfortune in life. I doubt if this person could have been a good officer eventually.
Thanks for this, for a guy at 22 to be tginking of making the kind of money drug offers, he is a greedy person. Also what crime did he commit that warranted them breaking his leg? Many possibilities ( could be he committed crime in training). People like Playing victim whenever they are wrong. Senior cadets will not just break his leg if the story he told them is even true.
We all need to stop playing victim and take responsibility for all actions we take.
Politics / Re: Presidential Election: The Real Number Of Votes I Scored In Each State – Atiku by dhabeautyjas(f): 11:07pm On Mar 20, 2019
wideawaken01:
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar in the just-completed presidential election has given a breakdown of the number of votes he believed he scored in each of the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory as opposed to that which was announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Mr Abubakar released the figures in his petition against the outcome of the election filed on Monday, which challenges the declaration of Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress as the winner of the election.

On February 27, INEC declared that Mr Buhari won the election in 19 states with a total of 15,191,847 votes to defeat Mr Abubakar, who won the election in 18 states polling a total of 11,262,978 votes.

However, in this petition, Mr Abubakar claimed that the “true, actual and correct” results upon state by state computation pitched him as the winner in 21 states, excluding the results from Rivers State, which he said was not available on INEC’s server as at February 25, when the computation was made. He, thus, claims that Mr Buhari only won the election in 15 states.

Mr Abubakar said the “state to state computation” showed that he polled a total of 18,356,732 votes to defeat Mr Buhari whom he said scored 16,741,430 votes.

“The 1st Respondent wrongly and unlawfully credited the 2nd Respondent with votes which were not valid or lawful votes at various stages of the election, namely, at the polling units, the ward collating centres, local government collating centres and the State collating centres, with the result that the 2nd Respondent was wrongly returned when the said 2nd Respondent did not score majority of lawful votes,” he wrote.

“The Petitioners shall also call evidence of statisticians forensic examiners and finger-print experts at the hearing of the Petition to establish that the scores credited the 2nd Respondent were not the product of actual votes validly cast at the polling units. The Petitioners plead and shall rely on electronic video recordings, newspaper reports, photographs and photographic images of several infractions of the electoral process by the Respondents.

“The Petitioners plead, state and contend that from the data in the 1st Respondent’s Server, as between the 1st Petitioner and the 2nd Respondent, the true, actual and correct results upon a State to State computation are as reflected under the scores of the 1st Petitioner and the 2nd Respondent,” he added.

The APC has since reacted to Mr Abubakar’s petition saying he and the PDP were suffering from hallucinations after the election defeat.

“Judging by Atiku and PDP’s recent utterances and actions, it is now clear that they have slipped into severe depression and post-defeat hallucination that have left many Nigerians questioning their current state of mind,” the ruling party said in a statement on Wednesday.

I just have 1 question judging from the results above. The accredited voters = Apc + pdp. Does that mean all other 71 parties got 0 votes from all the states?

That's true, but what about some pastor's children that are exposed to good values and they still go wayward
what's your take on this
most clergy men don't expose their kids to good values, rather they are too strict and controlling. they don't know the difference between being disciplined and being strict. for instance,
don't wear trousers (no reason given, just instructions), in this case the child's brain will automatically start looking for how to get it and use it secretly.
2nd scenario, a child that wears and the parents guide on its not good to expose your body as it endangers ur life, such kids will even have trousers and know when not to wear it.
just like parents that lock beverages in their room and those that taught their kids to manage the tin for 2 weeks, the first will steal if opportunity presents itself, while the second will see it and not drink all d time to preserve it for that period.
the 1st scenarios are being strict/depriving them while the 2nds are teaching them to be disciplined

A lot of youths and young boys in Nigeria, are not willing to go to crime, neither are they willing to be Cultists... They don't have anyone who loves them, nobody cares as Nigerian society is hard, and the government is doing nothing...

Many become cultists in a bid to find love and make cash.. If our society was good enough, crime will be less..

Unfortunately, Nigeria is fool of people who have money but can't give.. People who can give but have no money..

Decide to make money while giving...

You have some points, but if the society/government is bad, why don't we also accuse parents that give birth to children they can't cater for?
If you have the kids u can cater for, then you won't always wait for government and u will be able to love them and properly bring them up.

My mum is very beautiful, and successful yoruba woman but dosent regard her husband a bit,
Trouble got out hands when she got her first car and her husband who is an engineer doesnt have one yet,she then became pompous and over protective of the car that even those around; church and family knew that popxy doesnt own the car. Mumc is an established fashion designer and holds several positions in Nigerian Union ofTailors, as a result of this she comes home very late not givin any excus. As time goes by she stopped cooking him as she is always busy with work or travelling on state sponsored trips she does not bother to notify her husband whenever she is travelling.
There was a day i was so angry kus even my friends have started to take note and it becoming embarrasing, so i spoke with her, while talking she broke down in tears, she said she is the one responsible for 80 percent of the house expenses that popcy recieves 400k monthly bt always complaining of bin broke, she said other things i cant really type here.
This went own for a long time, they soon became enemies in the same house everyone going there way doing things differently, admist all these popsy has never rised his voice on her even when mumcy somethings did very annoing stuffs.
In the heat of this, popsy impregnated another babe although i have never seen the woman nor the child since birth which is close to two years. He apologised and promised to never bring them to interfere in our lives.
However this literary set our house on fire. While mumc was gettin over the haertbraek, she promised to get back at him which i didnt undesrand then.
Early this year, mumc bought 2 cars at ones, i was very surprised as she normally tell me her moves, she gave me one while she uses the other one. What broke myy hear was that she kept the one she was using before under cover when i asked her why she didnt allow popxy have that one she said she he should go buy his own and warned me that the day she will see him use my car na problem .
For sometime now she has been joking about moving us out of the country without his knowlege.
Popxy right now has facilitated his tramsfer to delta state.
Now they dont even see neida do they communicate again
the whole thing is driving me insane as i dont see popman coming to the house again pls guys help a brother what do i do
excuse my typo and coherence.

First and foremost, ur mum isn't telling u everything. If dad earns 400k, why did he leave d running of d house to mum?

Most women over protect their husband, so they get very disappointed and misbehave when pushed to the wall. But as its a man's world in Africa, the men will come playing victim. If u allow ur mum to tell u the full story, u may diswn ur dad. Seen lots of women in this shoe
