I want to say thank you to that bros that encouraged ppl to apply for civil service jobs. I got AO at dwp last month. A lot of information on this thread has been so useful and wonderful. I appreciate everyone that has made this thread worthwhile.
Tech bros and Sis, pls I need your advice. What do you think about being a salesforce admin.? The goal is to go into salesforce consulting. Sometimes, it feels like most salesforce jobs are more in the US than UK and many of the vacancies in London (lol). I would really appreciate your thoughts. Thank you

Thank you for the insight...
Would taking apprenticeship roles not be termed as public funds for those of us still new in the country?
Please, pardon my ignorance. Ese

, I have been seeing large companies like Lloyds bank advertising for entry-level business analyst roles, which they call apprentice Business analyst roles, I have also seen another Large company known as Legal & General advertised same, so check out things like that and apply. Apprenticeship roles as Business analysts, Data analysts, and others are a good way to go, for 12 or 24 months or so they will train while you work, with this you have solved the UK experience-ish barrier and you can move on from there. Good luck, so target large organisations for apprentice roles.

Just to add, salary amount should not be your problem now as this is where our people are missing it. Your priority is to define your career path and integrate fast into the Uk system
Please, I need your input and that of others.I'm asking for a friend as this was not exactly my case. My friend's husband got a job and applied for tier2 visa along side the wife. The husband has resumed work but wifey still in naija with kids. They did not apply with kids cos the kids passports were not ready. It is ready now and she wants to apply for the kids( she has been granted her visa). When she clicked on apply as child, there is confusion of how to fill. There is a column for personal info, partner and dependents details. 1.is the personal info supposed to be the wife who already has her visa( she is trying to apply for her children? Please, I will appreciate clarification on this
2. For accommodation, the Hubby stays in a shared apartment, what should be filled for the kids application? Of course, the Hubby is house hunting already
Thanks

75 unfortunate mails small. She had over 500 unfortunate mails. Done over 1k applications. She applies based on the PS of the job, given different ppl to review. Wo when God says it time then it's time. Some of her friends less than 10 applications, with supporting information that wasn't even even upto 20 sentences. One thing for sure don't give up.
Hey God,
That's much o. I'm sending my hugs to her. I pray she receive her good news very soon.

Abubanty:
Am guessing she did the Adult Nurse CBT. I read somewhere that with BNSc you can write Mental Health CBT. that means she has to reregister again using different email and follow Mental health path, which means you have to spend money again. You should probably research more on that.

There is a whole lot of International Mental health Nurse Positions available. But please do your own investigation.

My wife is a nurse too, and I know how difficult it is applying and getting so many unfortunate mails.

All in all dont give up and continue applying like your life depends on it.
Exactly; like your life depends on it o. My husband got about 75unfortunate messages but aced his second and third interview, rejected some invites eventually. One thing that I know helped him was a group ppl in his profession formed. He saw two SI samples and he was able to write different ones based on person specification. We did all the applications together so I understand how depressing those unfortunate messages can be. In all, NEVER GIVE UP.

I just visited their home page and they said that International recruitment is on hold for now,but you can send your CV.Please can I have your contact for further idea please? And is their any other organizations you know that she can apply that recruits overseas Nurse?
@Abubanty has captured one of the reasons. Truth is she should continue applying. Read job description and specification to draft her supporting info instead of just using one SI. I believe the more she apply, the higher the chance of interview invite. It will end in praise.

A colleague-aged 41 years old-who is a health care professional want to practice in the UK, but he is afraid he might be rejected by employers there on ground of age. Your suggestions needed please.
I believe more people will contribute. As far as I know, his age is nothing. He needs to demonstrate his skills, experience and let them know what he can offer. I know two allied health professionals who are in that age range and got band 6&7jobs with NHS.

All this misinformation is quite startling
You could say that the rate of council tax varies by county/location, but all parts of the UK are subject to council tax

Someone in Northern Ireland said they don't pay council tax. He is right

I think rent is cheaper up North of England. Meanwhile, a lot of people just see England as the whole of UK. Northern Ireland is a cool place from my research, cheaper cost of living and of course will have its own challenges. My 2cents

Pls I need clarity and I will appreciate help that comes from you people.
1. While filling visa application, is it a must to travel on that travel date I fill?
2. MA has applied for visa and ticked 'spouse will not be traveling with me to the UK' simply because the spouse passport was not ready when it was filled. Spouse now has his passport. He wants to apply for visa today with the hope they travel together. Considering what MA filled as ' No', will this affect his application if he ticks he is traveling with MA?. Thank you

Please, I have a question. My husband's COS came on 31st of December and the start date reads 16th January. It is obvious he can't meet up that date. My question is, will he be issued another COS with a new start date in order to apply for his visa? His medicals is tomorrow. Thank you

Oh sorry about that. I was successful with an NHS interview and the hospital asked me to submit 3 different ID documents and utility bills for checks.
I submitted my international passport, NEPA bill and NIN but they rejected the NEPA bill and NIN.
They mentioned that I could submit a driver's license, international passport and utility bill( water and light ) as means of identification.

The issue is that I do not have a driver's license and they have already rejected the NEPA bill so am confused as to another means of identification that I can submit.
I remember my husband submitted his bank statement. An active one that showed his last three months activity.

Please is it when one is offered the job he should take the IELTS exam or he should take it while applying for jobs?
Depending on the job. For example, I think nurses are supposed to have a certain grade in IELTS (not so sure) if your job does not require it,you can write IELTS while applying for jobs. My husband did not write IELTS but used Ecctis.

No, you don't need that. My response was to the moniker who wants to apply for Ecctis. When applying for visa, you need proof of English. IELT/ OTE/ Ecctis depending on circumstances. I hope I answered your question.

Was the transcript addressed to them? I want to know because the one i have was previously addressed to a company here in Nigeria. I dont know if i can use it like that or edit and mask it (which is what im about doing). Its right in the cover page of the transcript. There is no time again before they go on holidays
No, it was not fast track. We paid 147.50 pounds. The transcript he used was collected by him 10years ago. I can't remember what he said he needed it for but it has school stamp. A separate letter was given to him to address the organisation then. So, he just used it like that.
Agent of discouragement, if you don't have anything reasonable to tell him or her, why not move on, than coming here to write rubbish. you that's tired of Uk, when are you coming back? since those who are there are looking for a way to come back home. nonsense.

@vanod, if you know that moniker(Lagosismyhome),you won't say this. Besides, she did not discourage OP. It is better we all learn to manage our expectations. The truth is a lot of agents are selling COS. However, people should not give up applying.
