You better sue that fraudulent bank u will surely recover more than that amount at the end of the day. There are quite a lot of human rights lawyers in Nigeria who are ready to buy this case from u and make millions from it if u don't have the means to prosecute the case to a logical conclusion.

If you are so sure that your ATM card was not tempered with. You must get a lawyer to fight your case with your bank.The reasons are:
1:Your privacy was not protected enough
2:It might be an insider within the bank who is privy to know your bank details
3:If your money can't be safe in a bank then it is better to dig holes and hide it there.that's your points
4:the same thing happened to a close friend of mine.About 780000 was debited to his accounts the money was used to buy items from online store and then shipped to Kenya and Ethiopia

The same happened to my father's account with Stanbic IBTC bank. They fraudulently used his debit card to buy goods on wish.com to the tune of N37000. We are still on case. Stanbic IBTC bank is yet to return the money. The money is even my father's pension paid by Stanbic IBTC Pension. I'm very the bank staff are behind these fraudulent transactions. Please let's collaborate and get our money back. The bank staff have turned to thieves.

now my advice, if you have a lawyer friend or family, police contact them. you will be needing their help. visit the branch you opened the account or the nearest branch, they are likely not to take you serious. if they do so call them out on twitter, tell us to retweet.

Well I would advise they be called out on Twitter. If I for one have an account with them reading all this I would have closed my account with them. I personally don’t receive mails or alerts in my savings account. Imagine it’s me, they will be the account without me knowing.

Send an email to cpc@cbn.gov.ng. Include your bank's email in the cc field. Add screenshots of the transfers to it.

Do this if the bank doesn't give you a satisfactory answer in 48 hours.

dicksonadams, kindly follow this advise, over 400k was withdrawn from the acct of someone i know too few weeks back. He works with CBN that made the recovery easy I think. You can call them out on twitter too.

If I am right, I think a lien was placed on ur account, auto detected by ur bank because you haven't done such volume of transaction before now.. Hence the reason why its still in ur account. Block ur card using ur app if it has that feature and Visit ur branch, meet the head of operation/ customer service manager and it'll be resolved.

Somebody has gained access to 16 digits of your atm card.

I didn't get any email notifications of these transactions apart the 6k+, neither did I get the OTp token before transactions are initiated.

Please what is the way out of this kind of situation

Yes I do but rarely use it... In fact when I saw the debit, my first thought was that I must have lost the atm, I have to go and check under bed where I kept thr atm card and I saw it there

The fraudulent transactions total value is still held in my ledger balance. The strange things is there is no notification receive for the other transactions and they are not in deposit history as well.

This is the only transaction notification I got

Description: POS PURCHASE @SER MEZQUITAL Y NAZAS D MX

someone fraudulently gain access to my account last night 28TH March 2020 and performed a series transactions of N443,928.49 without my authorisation.

I have called StanbicIBTC customer care and the lady I spoke with told me they would disable the account and push the case to stanbicIBTC fraud unit. Luckily I was able to transfered remaining balance to my GTB account to prevent further debits (I only saw this at about 5am when I work up to pee and saw a single alert of about 6k which I guess was the first trial. The funny thing was thst the debit alert for others or the login notifications or OTp token request didn't drop in my phone Sms or email just the first 6k.

The debited money 400k+ is still being held in my account Ledger balance (see screenshot), please I will appreciate any assistance in recoverying the money. I had no reason to believe my money wasn't safe in my StanbicIbtc bank account.

Note: I rarely used this account apart for saving... I rarely use the atm on this account too. I usually transfer from this account to my gtb before withdrawing.

Bank say there is slim chance of getting the money, that even though the fund are still held in ledger balance they are as good as debited.
