Morning guys, I have been using 5W 20 oil for my 05 corolla but you guys have helped me understand the need to stick with recommended oil so I want to use 5w30 for my servicing which is due already.
All d petrol stations I've checked sell 5W20 and 0W40 but I stumbled on someone that sells 5W30 on here.
My question is this, does the brand label matter, the brand the person sells is MORGAS oil but the viscosity is the recommended one for my car.
Can anyone who has used this please share their experience.

Label rarely matter, just make sure you get a correct oil grade and api rating that meet your oem specification... You are good to go

It's a very sweet, sleek and fast car. I bought mine 2007 model 5 years back and never had issues with it. Though the car was really pampered, so I expect nothing less than loyalty. I make sure I use Honda, Genuine oils for the car, in fact initially I use to buy the oils from US, until I discovered Willoughby street where genuine oils, and parts for Honda are sold. Car served me well, though I have retired her, have packed her unused for over 10months and reluctant to sell, even when a, friend offered me 900k, because of the affection I have for her.

The gearbox + power steering systems of this Honda's, are close to bullet proof.......

The most reasons they malfunction are - :

Using fake lubricants
User abuse...........

It not a matter of fake lubricants, no matter what even when you use original, the gear box of a v6 will get bad before i4, I use a v6 while a friend use an i4, in the end I had to sell my V6 cause the second gear I bought also had similar problems.

Just take some time to read about gear and power steering issue for V6 7th generation Honda accord.

The power produce by the v6 engine easily wear out the transmission, it a design flaw. Trust me I use genuine honda fluid. Cc luvinhubby dey supply me

Y do people detest v6. That was how a mechanic almost discouraged me from buying my present car because is a v6, citing fuel consumption. V6 any day for me.

No boss I don't detest V6, just that for these generation of Honda accords the i4 manual is better and less problematic... Power steering issue, transmission issue plague the v6 automatic model. You can do some research on i4 and V6 common issues and durability online.

It will be great to share the step taken to get it resolved.

Here are the steps

1, move all available fund to another bank immediately you noticed the debit

2, contact customer service, inform them and get accounts freezed

3, send a formal mail to your bank cs and fraud desk to lodge the case, they will issue you a case ID to track

4, get support and tips on social media (I used nairaland and Twitter)

5, follow up... Bank will update you on progress

But all we see here is 450k returned .. mind explaining that part?

if you recall in my first thread I mentioned that 6k was initially debited and I got only that alert. The before the about 443k held in ledger
