Bros, I understand your pains. But it's very ok to call your mum and tell her everything. Even if she's strict as you said( which I believe should centre on good morals/ Godly upbringing.
If she takes it too far, you can involve your church pastor. Tell him everything and you need privacy over the matter. Because I believe your mum should belong to a Bible believing church from what you explained above.

Being a prayerful type, you can't hide the issue for long. Your conscience will even give you out easily. The thing will continue to be a hindrance to your mum's prayer upon your life .
It seems hard but I encourage you to take that bold step and meet her. She's your mum. You can't go far in life without her support and prayers.
For the sake of God and lasting blessings, meet her and you will be surprised how she will welcome you. Even after scolding you. Of course, no parents will be happy if his or her child deviates from values of life impacted on them especially during adulthood.
The Lord will be your strength as take this step.
