I don’t know if he has another business that made him a business mogul, but if it’s this particular company, then based on the financial records I’ve seen and the lack of information about the nature of its operations, that’s not the source of Obi’s wealth.

Maybe you haven't discovered this thread then, but DonJ said Obi was weak because he refused to lead protests and shut the country down

DonJ said Obi was supposed to oppose the Supreme Court ruling on crowning Tinubu as President. It is very well documented here.

Everyone who called Obi "weak", is always hammering on him taking power since he's the popular kid. Why is Abure and Apapa not calling him "Weak"?

If you are simply upholding DonJ and Kenneth's opinion, then you are indirectly supporting a Wike-styled leadership, of which Obi is the opposite of.

I am asking again. Is there any part of Kenneth's interview you would like to ask about? I have already given you my opinion
In all honesty, I’m a bit disappointed by you and your takes today. Next time, instead of making assumptions on my behalf, it’s better to ask me to clarify my position before running with any agenda you can latch onto. If you had followed my conversation with Spy closely, you would’ve noticed that I was asking different questions to understand why he supports the coalition and believes it can only work with his preferred candidate, Peter Obi, as the flag bearer. But you, who joined the conversation towards the end, picked a part of my post and have gone ahead to concoct all sorts of narratives. No wahala. When I have the time, I’ll respond to some of the points you raised in both your previous post and this one.

I am not here to convince you that Obi is a strong leader. I only questioning why you think being responsible, not crossing people, and disobeying court order should be a sign of strong leadership
Firstly, you were the one who butted into a conversation I was having with Spy and claimed I made a wrong statement.

Secondly, there’s a reason I referenced both Kenneth Okonkwo’s and DonJ’s positions on leadership in the first paragraph of that post, not my personal position. There’s also a reason I’ve repeatedly asked you to share your thoughts on Kenneth’s interview without conflating issues.

Lastly, I find your last paragraph disingenuous. Abeg, could you point me to any posts I’ve made today or in the past on Obi that support what you’re claiming in that paragraph?

My take is that you cannot singlehandedly blame Obi for the woes of LP.

LP was already an established party before he came on board. LP had a structure. Obi was adopted as the presidential candidate. Simple

We would be unfair to blame one person for the struggles of a party, when they have a Chairman, leader and exco, of which he is not part of.

If this is weak leadership to you, ya diba. He has kuku left the party. I hope to see your reviews on LP 2 years later. Let's evaluate how strong the party is.

Also note that the person you are using his interview as reference, has gone back to support Weak Leadership again.
Sorry, but you haven’t answered my question. Could you please stick to what I asked so we can address one point at a time and avoid drifting into whataboutism?

The Kenneth Okonkwo who is the reference here, is currently in APC, singing Tinubu's praises. I mean....The man who said Tinubu is corrupt and unfit, left his own man because of weak leadership, and embraced corruption.

I'm not saying Obi is the best leader oh. He may even be worse. It's true

But if we are to blame a man for his party's woes because he is following the court's order, I really don't know what to say, tbh.

Again, have you listened to Kenneth Okonkwo’s interview? Simple Yes or No.

That's not true.

If you have ever met a business mogul, you will not associate that person with lack of leadership or charisma.
No, I haven’t. But besides Obi’s port history and his roles on the boards of some financial institutions, are there any successful businesses he’s actually built from scratch that you can point to? I’m genuinely curious.

On this part, you are wrong

The court has already said Abure's Leadership has ended. What would you have him do? Start a media war, or carry Cutlass like Wike? grin

I would even accord him some respect for not scattering the party and declaring himself Lord.

If Wike was in LP, I am sure Abure would not even have the space he is having now to talk.

He has never insulted the leadership of the party. Even with the coalition, he did not berate LP at all.

If all these is poor leadership, well....Na only God go fit save us, then
Have you listened to Kenneth Okonkwo’s interview?

Spy360:
All the questions you have asked to challenge Peter Obi's competence is based on the crisis in the Labour Party. This alone means there's no question to ask.

Peter Obi is not the chairman if the party. He is not even a member of the NEC. He is only regarded because he was the presidential candidate.

The fact that Peter Obi was willing to allow the judicial process take it's place, and to allow for the rule of law to take effect is enough to give him accolades. Here's someone that will not grab power for the sake of it. You must know that he is not your usual Nigerian politician that takes a position of a godfather or power grabber.

Suffice to say, that we should not be ignorant of the cause of the problem of LP. It's clearly the handiwork of the president. For example, how is it hard for INEC to interpret a court judgement and enforce it? So we cannot be pointing at the problems of the LP when we know clearly who is at fault.

By the way, the rascality of the president is not only seen in the LP but indeed all other opposition party including the so called coalition party.

The mere fact that we are discussing LP to judge Obi and not his time as governor means we don't have any thing to hold him down.

In terms of him settling the standard, what I mean is that he is for now the best option. So whatever he does becomes the benchmark for another leader. For example, Obi will reduce corruption to let's say 10% of whatever it is now. So the next person should not make it go above that. We have seen how Buhari blamed Jonathan until he realised he is the problem. We have also seen how Tinubu is blaming Buhari until he took will realise he is the problem.

We don't want someone that will come and start blaming Tinubu but rather provide solutions. And as I said, we don't really have an economic problem. Our problem is that of leadership. Someone that will not gratify himself but the people. This alone will stabilise everything.
I think Kenneth Okonkwo would strongly disagree with you on Obi’s ability to lead and on the internal issues within the Labour Party. You should check out his interview on the matter. Even DonJ’s stance on his leadership skills suggests you are out of touch with who Peter Obi truly is or what he may be capable of achieving in a complex country like Nigeria.

If he could not resolve the challenges within a promising party he helped turn into a national force and has now jumped ship to the ADC, how exactly do you expect him to tackle corruption and entrenched saboteurs across the country? Bro, your take on this is giving pre Buhari messiah vibes.

Anyway, it is your right to vote for him if he eventually emerges as the flag bearer of the coalition. While I personally will not be voting for anyone from that coalition or the current incumbent, I genuinely hope Obi can unseat Tinubu if only so we can finally put an end to the myth that people like you keep pushing.

donjazze:
Indeed when it comes to qualities like integrity, accountability, transparency, virtues you wish for in a leader, Obi aces in these qualities which is why people were drawn to him but in the core aspect of leadership itself as a quality, he is found severely wanting.

I'm on the inside and I've witnessed the chaos firsthand. The lack of leadership and communication from the top. Everyone wondering what next with no answers. It's very pitiful

Spy360:
No. This is just the fruits. The tree is that PO is a credible person which is rare as a typical Nigerian politician. He has a natural desire to see people prosper and live well. You will see a genuine intention in making people's lives better. He has empathy. He has integrity (how many former governors don't collect pension not to talk of irrational pension benefits).

So these are the areas he stands out. That's aside his competence as a successful business man, and one who really understands governance, the rule of law, and human development indices.

I believe he can stabilise the economy within two years. That's because we don't have an economic problem. What we have is corruption, wastage, misappropriation and mismanagement of resources. Our democratic institutions are dying.

I don't even want anyone including Peter Obi to do more than 4 years. But I want him to set the standards.
How do you think he’ll be able to manage all that when he couldn’t even handle the crisis in the Labour Party, let alone coordinate and sustain the momentum of the Obidient movement, which is his main base?

What exactly do you think he will do differently from others to fulfill his promise of stabilising the country in two years, when he hasn’t been able to do the same within his own party and movement?

Again I ask, are there any other reasons why you believe he’s the best candidate for the job, considering how he’s handled the Labour Party crisis so far?

I can see you’ve stated that we don’t have an economic problem. While I agree that issues like corruption, wastage, misappropriation, and mismanagement of resources are major concerns, would you say he addressed those issues properly within the Labour Party before jumping ship to the ADC?

Lastly, since you’re advocating for a single 4-year tenure for all candidates, including Obi, after he’s set the standard, what parameters do you think he’ll put in place to sustain that standard in a country like ours? Or are you saying you’d be satisfied with him merely setting the standard, even if it means we end up back at square one after he leaves office?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by diggz: 8:31am On Jul 04, 2025
Just negodu!! So, na this kind of person wan save Nigeria? This man is only fighting for his own personal gain and agenda.

https://www.nairaland.com/8466619/atiku-abubakar-not-leader-tonyebarcanista

This is a pattern! Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has never stayed in a party past two election cycles.

He was a founding member of PDP and became Vice President of Nigeria in 1999. He won reelection in 2003, and that was it. He bolted after the second election cycle.

He joined Action Congress in 2006, clinched its presidential candidacy, but lost in the 2007 election. After that election cycle Atiku ditched AC and returned to PDP in 2010 after President Umaru Yaradua’s death. He spent just one election cycle in AC.

Back in PDP Atiku competed for the 2011 presidential ticket but fell to President Goodluck Jonathan. He grew distant in PDP and ultimately jumped to the newly formed APC merger in 2014. He spent only one election cycle in PDP.

In APC he entered the presidential primary but placed third behind first runner up Rabiu Kwankwaso and the eventual winner General Muhammadu Buhari. He abandoned APC in 2018 for a third spell in PDP. He spent just one election cycle in APC.

He secured PDPs presidential candidacy for the 2019 election but lost. He deserted the party yet returned in 2021. In 2022 he grabbed the partys ticket again for the 2023 election but lost to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Just like in 2007 Atiku has now forsaken PDP for his newest venture ADC. He spent only one election cycle in PDP.

Ironically each time he exits PDP he stirs factions and hypes his departure with media spectacles but always ends up on the losing side.

Should he lose the 2027 presidential election it would hardly shock anyone to see him abandon ADC.
