Omo… I’ve come to realise that even the self-proclaimed pacifists on this forum are only pacifists when they’re not the ones expected to get their hands dirty. And let’s be honest — 90% of those cheering this war on here have likely never experienced real violence or witnessed it unfold around them. If they had, the kind of joy I’ve seen on both sides while celebrating this conflict wouldn’t be so loud.

While they continue applauding the next chapter of destruction, here’s a grim reminder: in today’s warped calculus, even being a STEM graduate working as a scientist can make you a legitimate target. You and your family can be murdered in your sleep and labelled terrorists or sympathisers — simply for doing your job. You’re no longer seen as a person. Just another statistic. Easily erased.

- Millions more displaced, starved, or left without healthcare
• Deaths caused by Taliban, US/UK/NATO forces, and drone strikes

Iraq (2003–2011, extended US ops through 2021)

- Up to 1 million including indirect causes (infrastructure collapse, disease, displacement)
• Peak violence: sectarian conflict (2006–2008), ISIS insurgency (2014–2017).

And yet, the same politicians and NL pundits keep pushing the same tired lines — “stand with this side,” “You hate Isreal if you don’t support the war,” “Iran having nukes will be the end of Isreal.” But history has shown us exactly where that road leads: Afghanistan. Iraq. Libya. Syria. Same blueprint. Same devastation. Still no lessons learned.

Las las… this isn’t my war. I have no ancestral ties, no political stake, and no interest in fuelling the noise. Neither do most of those shouting the loudest. But if there’s one thing that remains clear, it’s this: both sides bear responsibility. Both have blood on their hands. Both are keeping the cycle alive.

To be clear: no one wants to die in a war — not even those fighting, and certainly not innocent Israelis who never signed up for it. Anyone with the means will leave — bunker or not. Even the very people you’re praising on NL for their bravery are doing the same, fleeing to avoid sudden death in a war they didn’t choose.

By the way, I only chose to address that part of your post to highlight how the reality for those in war zones is very different from what you’re trying to make us believe — that’s all.

No civilian should have to suffer or die because of the power struggles of politicians and elites. It’s not worth it. I completely understand why people on both sides are trying to escape. My brother, if lives weren’t being lost as we speak, I might find the propaganda from both pro-Iran and pro-Israel sides almost laughable. But perhaps I’m not desensitised enough to find any of it funny. The truth is, this very manipulation of information is part of what sparked the war in the first place.

I’ve seen pro-Israel voices repeat what may be one of the most dangerous lies — a narrative that justifies the killing of other human beings out of fear for what might happen tomorrow. Meanwhile, some, numbed by the trauma and chaos of war, have reduced the deaths of innocent people on both sides to little more than a spectator sport — something to argue over online rather than mourn.

As of March 2025, U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard testified that Iran does not possess nuclear weapons. She stated unequivocally that Iran’s Supreme Leader has no intention of restarting the nuclear program, which was shut down in 2003. She also made it clear that the intelligence community continues to monitor Iran very closely.

And yet, since 2003, Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly claimed that Iran is just “two weeks away” from developing a nuclear weapon — a talking point recycled over and over again, despite a lack of credible evidence.

Ironically, the current U.S. President, Donald Trump, was once a fierce critic of American policy in the Middle East. Long before his first presidential run, he called it a disaster. In 2011, he accused Barack Obama of being weak and incapable of negotiating, claiming that Obama would end up starting a war with Iran. Then in 2015, Trump bluntly stated that the wars in the Middle East were a “big fat mistake” — particularly the war in Iraq, which he said destabilised the region based on false claims about weapons of mass destruction.

More recently, Kemi Badenoch, head of the UK Conservative Party, publicly stated that Israel is being used as a proxy to fight a Western war — specifically on behalf of the UK, the U.S., and NATO — against Iran and its allies. She made similar comments about Ukraine, claiming it is being used as a proxy in the West’s confrontation with Russia.

Just yesterday, I watched a video where a reporter asked Trump about Tulsi Gabbard’s testimony on Iran’s lack of nuclear weapons. He flatly dismissed it, saying he didn’t care what she had to say — despite the fact that she’s his own Director of National Intelligence.

To top it all off, I watched Tucker Carlson interview U.S. Senator Ted Cruz this morning. Cruz, who has called for the overthrow of Iran’s government, couldn’t even answer basic questions about Iran. His justification for U.S. support of Israel — and for why war is necessary — was that “the Bible supports it.” That alone should be an eye-opener about just how disconnected from reality some of these leaders are.

Now, some people here are even trying to link Iran to our domestic issues with Boko Haram and other extremist groups — despite credible reports showing that the CIA had direct involvement in those situations.

At this point, only God can help us. Too many people have lost the will — or the courage — to question even the most basic misinformation.
