Israel has always had US support even when there's no war to fight. They are economic and military allies.

We were all here when they were bitchhhing about Israel getting military aids from the US, nothing has changed. Israel will request what it requires to defeat their enemy from their allies ; it is what allies do. Nobody is stopping Iran from doing same
From what I’ve seen, the pro-Iran side has been arguing that Israel can’t defeat Iran without U.S. support. Many of you on the pro-Israel side seemed to strongly disagree with that. But now, it sounds like you’re acknowledging—either directly or indirectly—that Israel wouldn’t be able to win without U.S. backing, even though many of the pro-Isreal supporters still seem convinced otherwise.

If you don’t mind me asking, what made you change your view on this—specifically, the idea that Israel needs no U.S. support to have a real chance of winning a war against Iran?

forget all the footage of burning haifa. Isreal is already hardened. they have been facing attacks like these for decades. but this is the first time iran is facing a direct attack since 1988. that is over 36 years. there is nothing to show that they spent as much investing in bunkers for citizens as they did in bunkers for their weapons
Ibime:
Israel has bomb shelter for every citizen, and it takes 10 mins for missiles to travel from Iran which IDF warns them about, don't worry about warnings
I just saw a video of one of Iran’s military spokespeople advising Israeli citizens to leave the country. He explicitly stated that bomb shelters wouldn’t be enough to save them. I’m not sure if he’s bluffing, but it’s interesting to see Iran now using a strategy that resembles one Israel has used in its campaigns against Palestine—and, by extension, even Iran itself.

Whether this is just psychological warfare or a genuine threat, it’s certainly funny to me sha.

By the way, why is Israel trying to drag other countries into this war? At this point, both sides should just take Trump’s advice and put an end to this yeye war. I’m pretty sure the ordinary citizens on both sides aren’t interested in it either.

Simply means nobody gave a F about Palestinian kids and civilian, they just hate Israel.

Iran are targeting civilian and no noise in the media, the moment Israel switch up and start blowing civilians in Iran - social media tears will start flowing again.
Sensationalism won’t get anyone anywhere—nor will shameless attempts to rewrite events and history that millions alive today witnessed firsthand.

You and your people have yet to ask who else died alongside the generals killed in their homes. You didn’t write any epistle for the innocents caught in the crossfire.

People have been demonstrating, protesting, and pleading for restraint toward innocent children in Palestine—but their cries have fallen on deaf ears. All we’ve heard are justifications claiming these children were being used as human shields, as though that somehow makes their deaths acceptable.

This war is just a continuation of the same tragic cycle we’ve seen for years. Neither side is innocent. There’s no need for you people to come here parroting, word for word, the talking points you’re downloading in real-time from the media.

Israel has shown little regard for the UN or the ICC. Sadly, both sides have now resorted to killing—including the innocent—while those thirsty for war like yourself stand by and cheer them on.

God forbid this war escalates into a third world war—if it does, we will all bear the consequences, one way or another.

It’s been over two years since that incident. I think a club could get away with signing him if they stand their ground. That said, I doubt Mason will be able to withstand the pressure—but if he can, then there’s a real chance he could stay and succeed, especially with the full backing of the club.

Well, Israel is the only sovereign country to chop State sponsored terrorism against it on a Daily basis and expected not to react. Only weak countries do that.

Let any country constantly sponsor, arm and direct terrorists against another country and they will chop direct confrontation.

India attacked Pakistan for harbouring a terrorist group that killed tourists just weeks ago

USA attacked Afghanistan and Sudan for harbouring Al Qaeda that attacked USA

Let any country sponsor and direct the Uighurs to attack China and see if China won't attack that country.

Even Gaddafi that sponsored a plane bombing was not forgotten for 20 years

Any country, you name it from Britain to Russia to Brazil that knows another country is directing terrorists to attack it constantly will immediately attack that country, unless them no get levels

But somehow we want to normalise that Iran can surround and pound Israel with terrorist missiles, with a stated aim of their Government to wipe Israel off the map and Israel has no right of action. They first attacked Israel directly in a State-to-State attack twice last year, while Israel is defending itself from dozens of missile attacks and blockade from Iran proxies daily, and Israel striking Iran nuclear facilities is the problem in all these.

Of course Israel was on great terms with Iran until the Mullahs took over Iran with a stated cornerstone policy of wiping Israel off the map. They chose the beef in support of the Palestinians.

So if there's any conversation to be had, it's the fairness or otherwise of the Palestinian situation going back to 1948.
Again, the Israeli Prime Minister was very clear about the reason for their attack yesterday. All these other points you’re bringing up weren’t part of what he actually said.

It’s the exact same reasoning they gave during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars—same story, same lines, just a different time.

In all three situations, Israel was either directly or indirectly involved. This really isn’t rocket science—there’s simply no justification for these endless wars anymore.

I no dey support any side for this matter….make dem sha do whatever dem wan do end the senseless wars.

No, let's stick to the facts

Iran sent hundreds of missiles into Israeli cities to avenge the killing of a terrorist Lebanese leader

Israel for 2 years have been taking missiles from Houthis and Hezbollah, directed, funded and armed by Iran, even as recently as few days ago

Israel took an attack from Hamas from nowhere 2 years ago, directed by Iran

So what makes you think Israel striking Iran is not a continuation of what happened last week.

Or is it by hiding behind terrorist groups.

If you want to dig further into the matter, you can bring up historic accusations against Israel on the Palestine issue but the fact remains, Iran has been the aggressor towards Israel since October 7th 2023 and are in a state of war with Israel since then. They even stepped out of the bounds of State-to-State relations by acting emotional after the death of a Lebanese citizen to send hundreds of missiles at Israeli Cities. That's if we want to go by the letter of the law, we can see who is being emotional and lashing out for wetin no concern their citizen.

The Hamas hostages are still not released. You want peace but won't give up kidnap victims.
I usually try to avoid conversations about the Middle East because, honestly, it’s a rabbit hole. So let me stick to my main point about what’s happened since yesterday.

Unless we’re prepared to go all the way back to the creation of Hamas - who created it and why it was created - and everything that led up to this, the only justification I’ve seen for yesterday’s attack is the claim that Iran is getting closer to acquiring nuclear weapons—and that, somehow, this makes the aggressive escalation by Isreal acceptable.

That’s exactly where my concern lies. This kind of logic and escalation could easily spiral into something much worse—potentially even a third world war.

What is their business with state response to the death of the Lebanese Hezbollah leader?
Where did the killing of their commander take place—inside their embassy or outside of it?

As I mentioned in my previous post, neither party is innocent in this matter. But I find it strange that Israel would choose to escalate to full-scale war at a time when a deal seems close, all under the pretense that Iran might acquire nuclear weapons—something Israel already possesses in abundance—within the next 12 to 24 months. I just don’t understand it.

Nigeria attack US? Lol...bros you for use Benin republic na....

However, Isreal has the right to act....because Iran possessing a nukes means the end of isreal. There is no two ways about it.

Iran regime does not acknowledge the state of Isreal...and they have vowed to wipe out isreal. Good thing is isreal never took those threats lightly.

Also as for isreal attacking unprovoked. When Iran sent missiles into isreal last year, how is it their business that hezbollah leader was killed?
I still don’t understand this rhetoric that if Iran obtains nuclear weapons, it automatically spells the end of Israel.
Why not start with the simple idea that neither country should have nukes in the first place?

What exactly gives Israel the exclusive right to possess nuclear weapons, while every other country in the region is denied the same?

You’re here justifying the killing of over 78 people in a single strike—along with many other casualties—because Israel believes Iran might be close to developing a nuclear weapon within the next 12 to 24 months.
A quick search will show you this isn’t the first time Israel or the U.S. has made this same claim.

It was the same justification used to invade Iraq and Afghanistan.
And yet—no nuclear weapons were found on either occasion.

So why should we believe this narrative now?

And since when did fear become a valid reason to launch a full-scale war?

If we’re going to normalize this logic—then are we saying, for example, that because IPOB or Biafra threatens the stability of Nigeria, it would be justifiable for the Nigerian government to start murdering innocent people in the East?

This kind of reasoning is dangerous—and deeply flawed.

@ the bolded: If you’re going to tell a lie, at least make sure it’s not such an obvious one.
Iran only attacked Israel last year after Israel carried out a strike that killed people inside Iran’s embassy compound.
An embassy is considered an extension of a nation’s territory—so that kind of action is essentially a declaration of war.

Lastly, neither side is innocent in all of this—I’m not picking sides.
I just genuinely want these senseless wars to come to an end. That’s all.

First of all, anyone's belief shouldn't be a threat to my life because I believe another thing. It is that belief that gave rise to the law unfortunately. Without the belief that blasphemy equals death, it won't be a Sharia law to start with.

In essence, wrong belief leads to wrong laws.
Please follow along. I used that simple example to show you how the logic you’ve been repeating doesn’t make any real sense.

You’ve argued above that someone else’s belief shouldn’t justify being a threat to your life—yet now you want us to accept that Israel’s belief that Iran might have nuclear capabilities in a year or two is a valid reason to start another war?

How does that make sense? Especially when Israel itself has had nuclear weapons for years.

Ellexo:
I actually answered your question but the spambot banned both me and the answer cheesy

But this is the way I see it.... Israel’s stance isn’t just we have nukes, so no one else should. No. Their concern is who wants the nukes and why. So here's the distinction;

Israel has a policy of nuclear ambiguity (never officially confirmed or denied possession) and has never threatened to wipe any nation off the map. Meanwhile, Iran’s leadership, on the other hand, has openly declared its desire to destroy Israel, supports militant proxies that carry out attacks, and regularly chants “Death to Israel” at official events.

So imo, It’s not about fairness per say. It’s about intent, ideology, and stability. The fear isn’t just about Iran having a bomb, it’s about who would control it, how they'd use it, and who they’re targeting.

So for Israel, and honestly much of the world, stopping Iran from going nuclear isn’t about dominance it’s about survival.
Ellexo:
Lol you're trying to equate state-level, existential threats with personal online arguments, that’s a completely flawed comparison.

Let me repeat it again incase you missed it before. Israel is responding to years of organized, well-funded, and repeated violent attacks from groups who have literally declared their goal to wipe them out. That’s not someone typing on a forum, it is rockets, suicide bombings, and hostage-taking, backed by a state actor (Iran). I mean this is clear as day nau.

On the other hand, a comment made online even if provocative does not justify tracing or harming someone offline. That’s vigilantism, not self-defense.
Self-defense is rooted in real, imminent danger and not a perceived disrespect.

So no, you can't liken Israel's national security response to personal retaliation. That’s not logic at all, that’s a reach.

Sorry, but could you please let us know if Isreal has nuclear weapons?
How can my comparisons possibly hold any weight with you when you keep dodging direct questions and hiding behind a wall of empty grammar?

By the way, are you going to answer the question I asked earlier—or keep dancing around it?

And while you’re at it, can you clearly point out the specific and substantial threat that Israel was facing before they chose to escalate things again?

Let’s be honest—we all have seen firsthand how Israel has embedded itself within the internal power structures of other nations, actively causing disruption from within. So please, let’s not play the innocent or victim card here. No party in this situation is entirely innocent, and no one is simply a victim.

The real question is: Why did Israel choose to escalate tensions at a time when they were supposedly in the middle of negotiating a deal?

Also, just to be clear—because I made a statement on NL that you perceived as a threat, you now think it’s acceptable to trace my family members and physically attack them? Simply because I said I’d confront you offline? Is that how you justify your actions?

Omo….

Ellexo:
Let’s be honest your comparison doesn’t hold water. Has the U.S., the U.K., or any of those countries ever publicly declared intentions to wipe Nigeria off the map? Have they openly funded armed groups that launch repeated attacks on Nigerian soil?

That’s the key difference.
Israel isn’t responding to vague threats at all. it’s responding to decades of open hostility, direct attacks, and consistent rocket fire from groups that are publicly supported and funded by Iran. When a nation faces existential threats, the calculus changes. It’s not about aggression; it’s about survival.

Self-defense isn't the same as unwarranted aggression especially when the threats are real, documented, and ongoing.

That's why I stan Putin. Restraint. Many on this thread agitating for regime change in Russia don't know Putin is mellow compared to people like Medvedev. Western propaganda is very strong. I was a victim. C-19 era woke me up. Many don't know how liberal Putin truly is at heart. If he didn't have a genuine soft spot for the west, he'd have turned Ukraine into present day Gaza in 1 day. But you can see how we interpret restraint as weakness. That's what Iran is probably just realizing. Israel knew they stood no chance against Iran but they were hoping to drag the US into it. The agenda is to force a regime change and hopefully get a puppet like the current one in Syria so they can FastTrack project Greater Israel. Iran will probably lose their Ayatollah Khamenei. That's who Israel will target next and of course indiscriminately. People think there was any special military operation involved in whacking the Nuclear scientists but it was simply bombing their personal homes, killing in some cases wife and children. The media just focuses on the main target forgetting the real act of terrorism. Russia and China are taking notes because the playbook is the same. Proxy wars. Protests. Regime change. Iran has to be as genocidal to force the US to cower. They have to aim for the same regime change in Israel. Bibi Satanyahu cannot lead us into a WW3. He should kpai on his own.
I believe that the countless war movies over the years have desensitized many people to acts of terrorism. We now witness unreasonable violence in real time and dismiss it as mere self-defense.

We’re entering a new world—one where anything goes, and where certain individuals and nations appear to stand above the very laws meant to hold everyone accountable.

We’re watching, in real time, as the media spins the senseless escalation of violence and the killing of innocents as an act of “national preservation.”

If that’s the case, then why haven’t countries like the U.S.—which have had ongoing trade wars and political tensions with China or North Korea—launched attacks in the name of national preservation?

I truly hate the direction this entire shameful war machine is heading. It’s beyond disappointing—it’s downright disgusting.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by diggz: 1:38pm On Jun 14, 2025
Israel’s envoy to the UN claims that their attack on Iran was an act of national preservation. But I still remember when Israel, alongside the U.S., justified the invasion of Iraq by saying it would bring lasting peace to the Middle East.

So, by that logic, is Nigeria also free to attack the U.S., the U.K., or any other country as an act of “national preservation”?
I honestly don’t understand this kind of reasoning.
At this point, I’m truly astonished.
