Oh ok. Yeah he now looks a bit serviceable compared to earlier last season and even this season.
However, he still needs to kick on next season and do more. He wears our No 7 shirt and cost 50m.

I’m talking about your general disgust at Ireti. U seem annoyed anytime we play. I understand you as a fan you want result but instant results usually fades away with time. Porch pre season is a testament to that. Under Ireti we have watch this teams take baby steps one at a time and we are back to the CL something you would have sworn was impossible after our pre season game against Celtic. All the pundits predicted him to be sacked before December but he got us in a title race by December. Give him the flowers he deserve not every time quick to see his errors and failing to appreciate his wins

BTW we should bring Carney Chukwuemeka back. We would regret selling him especially if someone converts him to a CM or DM
Some people just don’t enjoy the same grace others do. Unfortunately, it’s starting to look like we might end up cutting him loose, while still parading playersbums like Madueke and Neto. Honestly, Carney as a CM or even a DM might not be a bad idea.

Jackson is a confidence player. He is not someone that can stay bench and come in and shine. If Delap comes, Emegha should come as his back. Between both is just £45m. We will easily get £30m for Jackson in market
Yeah, I get your point. I was just looking at that left wing as a potential opportunity to try him out and see if he could thrive there. But if we end up signing those two players for £c45million , then yeah—£30 million for him sounds fair.

First off we stopped keeping the ball for far too long and rather keep our defense water tight to avoid conceding thereby making just one goal capable of getting us 3 points. Get him the right players and watch him keep winning. At a point he got us in the title race if not injuries and drop of form we could have had a better season. Poch could have flopped this confernce league believe or not.
Firstly, if your eyes weren’t as blind as mine, you wouldn’t have quoted my post just to type nonsense. The post you referred to was clearly about Caicedo being played at right-back, and me suggesting the board make Maresca sign a contract to end that experiment—because Caicedo is clearly more effective in his natural midfield role.

Secondly, please take a moment to actually read the first paragraph and the earlier post properly before jumping in to reply again. Thanks.

Rodrigo ticks all the boxes for us. RW, LW and CF.

He can make that LW his as that’s his best position. Then when we have Jackson or Delap not playing, the Brazilian can still be shoehorned into the CF position. He’s that good.

For all his profligacy, I still think we need to keep Jackson around. His press game will count against certain teams.

It’s important to have players with different distinct profiles in a team.
Exactly this! For all of Jackson’s shortcomings, I still wouldn’t let him go—especially considering the fee we paid for him and the fact that he hasn’t been completely underwhelming. If we can keep him as a third striking option or someone who can play from the wing and link up with the No. 9—like we had with Drogba, Anelka, and Kalou—I don’t see any reason to let him go.

It will pose a problem unless Jackson learns to track opposing full backs, because Cucurella will continue inverting.
Yeah, I agree—it could definitely become a problem, especially if Cucu keeps inverting. That said, I’m not sure it’ll be that bad, considering our fine boy Aba Ronaldo barely ever tracks his man anyway.

BTW for what it's worth, I believe Gusto has looked terrible this season because he does not understand that role the way Reece and Cucurella understand it

Lest we forget, he's just 21.

Give him time. And if e head no correct, Acheampong is behind him.

As for LB options, just pluck one of Barco or Diegzzy from Strasbourg if necessary.

Ekpa Diggz, at the beginning of the season, most of us set UCL qualification and a trophy as targets for Maresca. He's done it. Let's give him another season and watch.
My brother na only rant I fit rant, I no get any say for the matter. 😂

Two CFs in one window is going to pose as a problem for this board.

If Delap joins, it’s definitely going to be him and Jackson leading the line for us, at least from how Maresca’s sees it, which we’ve seen this season.
If we sign Delap and another striker, Jackson might occasionally have to fill in as a left winger or supporting forward—roles he’s taken on earlier in his career. It’s something Maresca hasn’t really had the chance to try yet. But with Sancho hopefully returning to Manchester, and both Neto and Madueke failing to impress, using Jackson out wide might not be such a bad shout—especially if we can’t secure a good left winger.

You are too quick to judge marresca my bro. Yes sometimes we play boring football cos the opponent refuses to come out and play with us they rather just defend and counter but if u have eyes u would see towards the end of the season ireti has made changes to the tactics and got the job done. Blame the players for not doing their jobs. Gusto is a bum this season that’s why we get to see caciedo at right back
Since I clearly don’t have eyes, can you use yours to break down the changes he made toward the end of the season?

Until Reece James plays a full season uninterrupted he's still a liability despite how good he is and I don't want to see that caicedo fullback experiment ever again.
I agree with you. Maresca seriously needs to scrap that pointless experiment and just play him in his natural role—he’s way more effective there. Honestly, the board should step in and make him sign a contract promising never to try that nonsense experiment again! But then again, what exactly do we do with a player like Gusto? Omo…we have plenty players to pursue from this club lol
