GloriousGbola: IMHO Netanyahu deliberately allowed the October massacre to happen because he knew the fallout could turn the course of the us election
With a Trump in the white house and republicans in control he can do whatever he wants. Beyond the unfortunate events of October 7, it’s important to remember that Trump actively campaigned on a promise not to drag the U.S. into more wars. He repeatedly stated that one of his top priorities was to end the conflicts between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the Israel-Palestine-Iran tensions—and, by extension, reduce instability across the Middle East. Even his early visit to Saudi Arabia seemed to suggest he was trying to approach things differently. But with the way events have escalated recently, it’s hard not to wonder how other countries are viewing the U.S.—and whether they can genuinely trust anything coming from its leadership. At this point, it’s honestly becoming absurd how Israel continues to violate international rules of engagement with what seems like complete impunity. And while I understand the need for any nation to defend itself, how does fueling more wars help anyone—especially when they appear to be the aggressor on nearly every front? |

izzou: In what world would attacking Iran bring peace?
What happened yesterday is just another beginning of another endless war
We all know the end; Innocent lives would be lost, it would affect the world economy, and become the foundation for more attacks in the future. Exactly! I’m even more disappointed with Trump—first in how he handled the Russia-Ukraine situation, and now with the Israel-Iran-Palestine conflict and related tensions. This is a President who campaigned on ending endless wars, yet what we’re seeing now is escalation on every front. When will these endless wars actually end? What’s even more frustrating is that, in the midst of all the ongoing efforts to bring peace between the warring parties, Trump has now admitted that he knew Israel was planning to attack Iran all along. I mean… what’s the end goal this time? More war? More excuses for lives to be lost? Because honestly, I don’t get it. |

we also have a stake If that’s the case, then our focus should be on addressing issues here at home—our own people—not supporting an unprecedented act of aggression overseas that has little or nothing to do with us directly. This is the same kind of justification the U.S. used to get involved in Libya, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Yet, despite all that, the world is still far from peaceful. I’m sorry, but I respectfully disagree with that school of thought. |

Ellexy: See eh, context is everything. Ukraine has never posed an existential threat to Russia, nor has it ever threatened to wipe Russia off the world map. What we’re witnessing is simply your lord and saviour, Putin, chasing his fantasy of reviving the old USSR. For him, taking Ukraine is a major piece in that delusional empire puzzle.
Israel, on the other hand, is fighting for its very survival. There’s an Igbo adage that says, “Only a tree gets threatened with an axe and still stands there doing nothing.” Israel is no tree. The only reason it’s still a nation today is because it has maintained military superiority over hostile neighbours who have tried repeatedly to wipe it out and failed. That, and the backing of its Western allies.
Now, when a country like Iran who has publicly vowed to erase you starts sniffing around nuclear weapons, you don’t fold your arms and wait to become radioactive dust. Israel understands that as a small nation, one nuclear strike could be all it takes to end them. So yes, they’ll do whatever it takes to stop that from happening preemptively, decisively, and unapologetically. Sorry, but could you please let us know if Isreal has nuclear weapons? |

Theflint1: The difference between plain theft and deliberate sabotage is the intention behind each...how is this still difficult for your non-Microbiology brain to comprehend?
You can aspire to be the butt of jokes and clownery, that's up to you...it's a hard pass for me though. How would you know their intentions? Did any of them come to you to explain why they chose to steal N4 billion—or are you related to one of the people who took the money? We all saw how Dangote was practically crying every day last year over the issues he had with NNPC. The man was also neck-deep in debt—dealing with what he owed Nigerian banks and other investors. In the middle of all that, a group of people still had the audacity to steal N4 billion worth of product—while he was struggling to meet demand. But somehow, you want us to believe it’s just theft and not sabotage? If you’re the standard of what microbiology graduates produce, then honestly, maybe Odumeje has been right all along. It’s honestly wild that, even with the help of ChatGPT, your brain still struggles to process the simple fact that stealing N4 billion from a company is sabotage. Now tell me—those boys who vandalise pipelines, are they just stealing, or are they sabotaging the economy? While ChatGPT is a useful tool, it shouldn’t replace our ability to think for ourselves. Because of people like you, I’ve decided—no child of mine will waste my money studying organisms in university. I’m not about to sponsor anyone just to come out reasoning with half a brain. |

The people who diverted funds from those institutions—were they just stealing, or were they actively sabotaging the institutions and, by extension, the country? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by diggz: 7:38pm On Jun 11, 2025 |
Theflint1: No matter how much you try and twist into pretzels dictionary definitions, theft and sabotage will never be synonyms. Logic is not a synonym for lies either.
And yes, I studied Microbilogy, you can do like Odumeje and deride the course, that's up to you, I'm sure it's perfect company. “By their fruits, we shall know them.” Or better yet, “by their reasoning, we shall know them.” It’s not my fault that you spent your university years cramming the names of organisms without developing even a single atom of critical thinking or the ability to reason your way to a logical conclusion. That’s not on me. In that same ChatGPT you consulted, it literally gave you an example of sabotage. For your sake, let me quote it verbatim: “Vandalizing machinery to prevent production, planting malware in a system to disrupt operations, or intentionally breaking equipment to delay a project.” Since you apparently can’t use the brain God gave you and need everything spoon-fed, I had to simplify it further using this:“Stealing a company’s product—thereby preventing it from making a profit, threatening its sustainability, or stopping it from fulfilling orders to paying customers—doesn’t count as sabotage.” Yet, here you are, still doing cho cho cho. Instead of looking down on Odumeje, maybe you should take a moment to learn how he managed to get where he is today. ChatGPT won’t give you that answer, and clearly, you can’t process or apply any information it hasn’t already handed to you directly. By the way, I assume you must have N4 billion just lying around in your living room—that’s probably why you’re struggling to comprehend how a group of people stealing N4 billion from a company that’s still indebted to Nigerian banks to the tune of over $2 billion amounts to sabotage. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by diggz: 5:19pm On Jun 11, 2025 |
Theflint1: I make sure to always reference ChatGPT when they're primary source
What it amounts to is different from what was intended. For the person stealing, their goal is to enrich themselves, that Dangote refinery is ultimately sabotaged is secondary.
Their actions would ultimately have the same effect as say indians that slipped into the staff of Dangote to cripple the company from inside, with the goal of keeping Nigeria energy dependent, but their intentions are different. That difference in intention is what differentiates theft and deliberate sabotage. Did you even look at the example ChatGPT gave you for sabotage? But according to ChatGPTTheFlint1, stealing a company’s product—thereby preventing it from making a profit, threatening its sustainability, or stopping it from fulfilling orders to paying customers—doesn’t count as sabotage. Sorry, are you one of those so-called STEM graduates who studied animal science, microbiology, and the like in university? Omo…..bros abeg ask ChatGPT to epp you with logic. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by diggz: 4:28pm On Jun 11, 2025 |
Theflint1: With one sabotage is the intention, and with another sabotage is a by-product of what's actually intended. Is this from ChatGPT or the actual person behind this moniker? Because honestly, it’s embarrassing that you have the nerve to keep arguing against basic common sense in this case. Then again, you’ve done this at least three times on different occasions—so maybe it’s just a you thing. What’s truly alarming is that you’d think a group of people stealing N4 billion from the only functional refinery in the country doesn’t amount to sabotage. Now that you’ve used ChatGPT to understand the difference between theft and sabotage, why not also use it to explore the consequences of consistently stealing N4 billion from a company like Dangote Refinery? Ask about the impact on the Federal Government, the banks, the Dangote Group, their workers—and by extension, the entire country—since applying logic seems to be a challenge for you. Just so you know, I’m starting to see Kimbeast in you. |

afrodoc2: A country is producing corrupt and wicked politicians in bulk, generation after generation BUT somehow miraculously the general population that is producing these politicians is totally different. Another argument that’s been introduced into the conversation today is that our politicians are merely thieves, not saboteurs—because they’re stealing for personal gain, not with the intention of destroying the country. You really can’t argue with that kind of lack of logic, man. |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by diggz: 1:22pm On Jun 11, 2025 |
Theflint1: The intention differentiates both.
So while a thief would ALWAYS use the things they steal to enrich themselves, someone committing sabotage might not...they could even steal from Dangote and destroy the items they stole, they're more committed to subverting the man's business through the theft than they are to enriching themselves.
I understand why one could descibe both as same, but strictly speaking, they're distinct enough. So, if I understand you correctly, your argument is essentially based on how the stolen resources are used— is that right? And just to be clear, would it be fair to say that this is the main foundation your entire argument rests on? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by diggz: 1:11pm On Jun 11, 2025 |
Theflint1: From the POV of the thief, stealing is not sabotage if the intention was simply theft.
And hopefully persons that are victims of either or both are able to identify what's what, it'd help them in responding appropriately. Thefli: Sabotage and stealing have different definitions for a reason...that there's some overlap between stealing and sabotage doesn't mean they're necessarily the same thing. Thefli: Fair enough, maybe there is some inconsistency in how people respond to both, but that's sort of another discussion...and it's possible the difference in reaction to both situations is that while one is "private" wealth, the other is public wealth. Sorry, but could you please explain in clear and simple terms how stealing from Dangote’s refinery doesn’t amount to sabotage? I’m not looking for the dictionary definition—we’ve already seen that. I genuinely want to understand your reasoning. I see that you’re trying to draw a distinction between private wealth and public wealth in another post you made, but I still don’t quite understand why you believe stealing from Dangote’s refinery wouldn’t be considered sabotage. |

For some other persons, it's not in their nature to engage in physical violence and that thing you see as hand inside your eyes is something to laugh over or shrug off...and that fight you'd willingly partake in, they'd find any and every means to avoid it. No vex—but I already mentioned earlier that you’re a far better human being than I am nah, so it’s amusing that you still feel the need to keep gloating. Life—and conflict in general—comes with wins and losses. I don’t understand why you’re acting like you’ve just uncovered some profound truth I’m unaware of. Anyway, thanks for the advice, as if the situation I referenced didn’t happen 14 years ago. What’s even more amusing is how you conveniently ignored a much more recent incident from last year, which I mentioned in one of the posts you quoted. Just like you’ve conveniently avoided responding or sharing your so-called knowledge on how to handle clear, scenario-based situations that require you to take a position—choosing instead to vaguely suggest “there are other ways” without offering anything concrete. But don’t worry—if it ever comes down to it again, I won’t be the one handling it. Still, it’s oddly comforting to know that people like you—who clearly have zero fight in them—still exist. 😂 |
