CareerRe: At 35-yr-old Looking For Career Advice by Dimmo: 4:42pm On May 31, 2023
mannatech:
Trying to survive in Nigeria currently is getting hard even as a single guy only responsible for my self. I'm currently working as a meter installer but the job is based on the number of meters you installed. started this job three years ago and so far I have gathered some experience the pay is just too low

I have seen a lot of growth potential in the power sector but the metering sub sector is still growing and mostly depends on government's policy but I want to tap into the potential in the power sector.

I would like to know if it's advisable for me at 35 to go back to school and study electrical engineering and what are my chances of getting a long term job afterwards.
Inputs will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Age is just a number. Go back to that school. It’s better late than to leave in perpetual regret of not fulfilling your dreams. Go and break limits. Wishing you all the best

PoliticsRe: Subsidy: I’m Sorry For The Next President – Sanusi by Dimmo: 7:25am On Oct 16, 2022
adioolayi:
The next President of Nigeria must be ready to take "harsh" decisions .... especially, removing fuel subsidy.

It is an inevitable action that must be taken..no two ways about it.

It's going to be a hard one.

As a government, before this is done, there must be massive awareness on why this needs to be done... awareness not on radio or TV jingles only...but, awareness that involves the masses stakeholders...

Visit the general National meetings of Artisans...Tailors, Barbers, Mechanics, Hairdressers, plumbers, carpenters, bricklayers, farmers association, NURTW, various foodstuffs sellers association and the likes..

Also move to the big ones like NSE, TUC, NLC, NMA, NUT and the likes..

Request their leaders to disseminate this information to their unit level..

This can be done in two months...send out all your agencies , ministry directors to do the sensitisation physically at various states when these people are having their state meetings..

At the same time...annouce on radio and TV..

Be sincere, simple and clear on your message...why subsidy must be removed and what you intend doing with the money that will be saved.

I believe there won't be protests if everyone is aware and convinced
Valid points

If curses do work there'd be no politician, police, NEPA official, LASTMA official, VIO official or Agbero alive today.

If prayers do work Nigeria won't be as horrible as it is today..

But Nigerians are not ready for this conversation

BusinessRe: SPAR Mall In Port Harcourt Flooded Due To Heavy Rain by Dimmo: 4:51pm On Sep 21, 2021
lonelydora:
Please, the name of that place is Port Harcourt Mall, and not SPAR.

The newly built Rumuola flyover was heavily flooded too. Most parts of GRA was flooded too.

This morning rain in PH no bi here o. I was just looking out from the window and searching everywhere to see if anyone was building an ark in my neighborhood.
It shows your ignorance about the city of portharcourt. SPAR is what is generally called portharcourt mall.

As for me, I can't, cos it's like a hell with her domineering tendencies.
Marriage is a good thing if you marry the right person. I am proud of whom i got married to and will always wish to get married to her again and again.

[quote author=naijatjboy post=82643729]I’m presently at cross roads between attending an interview with Uba or commencing a training with Access bank same monday.

I need your sincere advice because I don’t want to loose both ways.] Access Bank is far better. But u must be ready to read because their training is highly competitive. You must read and pass all their exams because once you fail you are out. My younger brother works in access bank and he came in as an entry level staff. So go for Access Bank. Wishing u the best

PoliticsRe: What Saraki, Dogara, Other Npdp Members Actually Want – Oyegun by Dimmo: 4:26pm On Jun 05, 2018
olajay86:
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has spoken on the activities of the New Peoples Democratic Party, nPDP, a group within the ruling party.

Oyegun said members of the nPDP are only looking for a good bargain themselves, adding that they (nPDP) cannot choose this time to dump the other political parties.

He said that the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and others were only acting like people who want the best for themselves. Oyegun ruled out any possibility of the group decamping to other parties.

Oyegun told reporters, “The process is still ongoing, and until we reach an understanding with them, it won’t be right to comment, but I think we have tended to read too much that is negative into their act.

“I just have a feeling that like all people who want the best terms for themselves, they will come out at a period which they feel is advantageous to them.

“Given the state of the polity, I suppose they chose this time not because they want to leave the APC; not because they were fed up with the APC, not because they want to cause trouble with the APC, but because they want a good deal for themselves given the totality of what is going on in the party.

“So, we have accepted their protest in good faith, and we are sitting down with them to work out something that will be mutually beneficial to both interests.”
