The holy spirit doesn't exist
Any evidence of the holy spirit existing can more easily be explained by emperor's new clothes effect and your brain playing tricks on you
Speaking in tongues doesn't even sound like a real language
If you listen well you can hear the same 10 words being repeated again and again whenever someone is speaking in tongues grin grin grin

MuttleyLaff:
C'mon, of course you know it is a translator insertion and latter addition nah, lmso

Yeah, but my point (which I do get to later) was that you can not be absolutely certain that anything written in the bible is:
1. A verbatim account of what Jesus said
2. Unaltered by any scribe or leader during the 2 millennia that it existed
3. True in the first place.

MuttleyLaff:
The point is there is something called the Spirit of Truth., who guides into all things and teaches

Besides, a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks, not Christians.

Says who? The bible? How can you even be sure that any of this is true? Spirit of truth? Abeg...
First of all, if God wanted to be truly fair, why doesn't he just announce this to the entire world? Why does "faith" have to be a prerequisite for knowing what God wants? So you have to believe in him while he tries his best to leave as little physical evidence of his existence as possible, then he turns around and says that he wants as many people to believe in him, while also knowing that human beings naturally work with the physical senses.
I don't know if God is an idiot or something but it almost looks like God wants as little people to serve him and go to heaven as possible.

MuttleyLaff:
You are sounding just like king Agrippa, when he blurted out to Apostle Paul about him almost trying to make or convert king Agrippa to become a Christian, but noticed how Apostle Paul never acknowledged being a Christian and even didnt used the epithet either, but rather his retort, was I hope you become what I am.

Christianity is a Constantine/Roman invention and as for the word "Christian", we can thank the city of Antioch for inventing this contemptuous word, lmso.
Words are used to describe persons, places, and things. How would you prefer to be referred to as? I've never seen people who believe in what you do be described as anything apart from Christian in my entire life, so you must forgive me if I use a contemptuous word to describe you.

MuttleyLaff:
If you are alive, lmso, you will be drawn to the Bible, you will find the Bible engaging, you will learn from the varied life experiences documented in it et cetera
I'm certainly not dead grin.

MuttleyLaff:
God is God, not god(s) and doesnt reckon with sects.
I thought you said God was a sect atheist in your last post? I'm even more confused.
I think I now know what you meant by "God isn't Christian" from what you said.

Well have fun listening to what a 2000 year old book says on how to live your life.

Oh and sorry for the delayed response, I was busy.

No, I am not trying to confuse you. God is God and He does whatever He wills.
I use matt 20 vs 15 to console myself and get out of envy. It works for me

If God insists on being a tyrant by "doing whatever he wills" then he should probably stop masquerading himself as a loving God, since that is not something a loving God would do.

I do agree with straying away from negative emotions such as envy, though I do not believe it is a sin.

Since God can not hold himself by his own standards, I don't see why I should be expected to take anything he says seriously. I am perfectly fine with others practicing Christianity (although it does irritate me seeing my fellow Africans fervently serving the God that the white man was serving as he was enslaving and subjugating us), but I don't think I can deal with it.

If hell happens to exist, then I am content. I would rather stay there than serve an unruly god. Besides, hell's existence basically means that I go somewhere when I die. I think burning in hell, when compared to the alternative scenario of simply ceasing to exist, is a favorable option. Besides, statistically speaking, I'll probably know a lot more people in hell than in heaven. I doubt hell exists, though.

So, if you want submit that the bible clearly states and supports the existence of the trinity, please provide where exactly is it that the bible clearly states and supports the existence of the trinity

This was a controversial example I used, but it works in my favor anyway. The only scripture that actually directly supports it is in 1 John 5:7, and most people theorize that this scripture was added after the epistle was written, but my initial comment was chiding the person for bringing to light a nonsensical opinion that the Jehovah witness person expressed while also holding nonsensical opinions.
As another example, I could've also pointed out that true omnipotence is impossible. I could also talk about how most Christians believe the word of God is infallible and unchangeable, but the fact that human beings likely EDITED this said "word of God" shows that that's untrue. Hell, there might have been so many changes in the bible that we don't know of, so what even is the point of claiming that his word is unchangeable?

Have you entertained the thought that he possibly isn't a Christian

Read the last few sentences of what he wrote. He is a Christian, unless some other religion unbeknownst to me speaks in that manner.

The bible is a living book. What is rubbish to some actually is treasure to others, lmso

It would interest you to know that God is sect-atheist, lmso. God even isn't Christian, lmso

A living book? Do you mean that the book is literally alive, or something else? I'm not sure.

How can god be sect atheist? He's god, how can he believe that he doesn't exist?

God isn't even Christian? I don't understand this, either. What do you define "being Christian" as?

We are made in the image and likeness of God. That is why we also feel jealous. But we must try to curtail it so that it doesn't lead us into sin. Being jealous is not a sin but when we allow it to linger and then add action into it, then it can lead us to sin.

That seems reasonable enough
Though, seeing as I was talking about god being jealous of other gods, I would like to add that god does advocate the total eradication of those who worship other gods except for him.
Just read the entirety of Deuteronomy 13 to see what I mean.

Yes, I am aware that after the resurrection of Christ most things in the old testament have been wiped away, and that now god is accepting of all.

To that, however, I would like to point out that God has stated multiple times that he is incapable or unwilling to change his mind (see Numbers 23:19, 2 Timothy 2:13, Hebrews 6:17-18) for any reason whatsoever, although the story of Hezekiah contradicts this massively (2 Kings 20:1-11)

It is also a common Christian claim that God is omniscient, meaning that he knows absolutely everything; of that that was, that is, and that is to come.

If this was the case, however, then God, having been aware of the fact that Jesus would die for our sins on the cross, would not have said the things which he did in the Old Testament, because those would count as him lying. And he's not supposed to be able to do that, right?

Therefore, I will not consider the claim about the death and resurrection of Christ's effects on the scripture valid.

That brings me back to my original point. God has "lingered and added action" to his jealousy countless times in the Bible (If you want examples of this in the bible you can ask me but they aren't hard to find). God, the almighty and all powerful apparently has so fragile an ego that he cannot stand the existence of other modes of worship that do not reference him in any way, even though human beings worshipping idols does not affect him at all. One would think that a truly righteous god would be happy with whatever you practice so long as you are a righteous and decent person while doing so. Apparently not.

On to the point, though. You said that being jealous is not a sin, and I agree with you, but what is the logic behind jealousy not being a sin and:

1. covetousness (Exodus 20:17), and
2. sexual thoughts (Matthew 5:27-28)

being sins? The three are similar in that they do not necessary entail the person having committed an actual offense towards another person. Being jealous of someone doesn't hurt them, and neither does covetousness nor sexual thoughts. Yet those two are sins? If you wanted your belief to be structurally sound, then you'd either have to believe that all three are sins or that none are, since it would make no sense otherwise.

Please don't confuse me undecided

The funnier thing is, OP, (i.e. bingbagbo) never mentioned trinity in the original post
Yes he didn't, but the bible clearly states and supports the existence of the trinity, so he must believe in it if he is Christian.

What I am pointing out is that every idiotic rubbish found in the bible is just as stupid as the next, and thus feuds and disagreements between different sects of Christianity are pointless since they are all equally stupid.

Christians are among one of the most gullible, weak minded, desperate people living on the planet right now grin grin grin
They will believe anything you tell them so long as it sounds like scripture, all just to solidify their baseless "faith"

No surprise that fraudsters and 419ers are attracted to this kind of crowd. It's free money.

Doesn't god describe himself as a "jealous god"? (Exodus 34:14 before you people start your own)
His own is even worse self, he's jealous over insignificant gods that are supposed to be like ants when compared to him.

So god is allowed to be jealous but we are not?

The funny thing is that this makes as little sense as the Trinity.

They have been dying many moons and moons ago, long before even the white man ever dreamt of setting foot on the Atlantic shore

Yes, because people die, but the person I was replying to was acting like they died because of divine judgement from God the all forgiving. I was just pointing out that white men caused a lot of deaths in their attempt to "spread the good gospel of god" a god who would never have allowed something like that to happen if he were just.

What will happen to your Igbo ancestors that did not know or believe in Jesus before they died. Remember that Jesus said he is the only way to God so it means that all your ancestors will be roasted in hell for not believing something they did not hear while you their descendant will be bowing day and night singing praises to the wicked being that is roasting your ancestors unjustly. I pity for you.

They died due to the white man's acts of barbarism, which he did in the name of this god whom you so fervently worship. Don't be ignorant.
