If you are married to an EU citizen then u should apply for a reunification visa but it depends on which EU state he or she is.. e.g If its Germany then u should apply for family reunion.

I don't think there is any Goethe in Abuja, but i would advise u to google search to know more.. and visit Goethe's website.. for the test in A1 u write 3 tests when u meet the actual cut off mark u can proceed to A2 same thing in the next class.

Then you write the B1 prüfung... cool

Last that i paid for A1 class 47k i think including textbooks

chioma134:

Thanks for your prompt response. Is there any Goethe institute class in Abuja? How many exams/tests do I need to take and what is the average cost?

For German Classes its either u attend Goethe Institut or Enrol in a private Class...
At Goethe Institut u start from A1 and u write 3 tests which would be calculated, would determine if you are going to A2 or not. For me i did just A1 at Goethe before moving to Germany. I am about to finish the A2 class here and processed to B1 then write my B1 exam in less than a month. shocked

chioma134:

Please, is there anyone with an idea of any German language class in Abuja?. For those currently studying German, do you need to attend lessons or do you use internet solely? I hear of B1, C2 levels. How many levels are there and do we need to take exam for every stage? What is the average cost of learning and the exams? Thanks in advance.

Lalaski001:
My Transcript.

Had my interview today.
I got to the embassy around 5:40am, I met just one person on the queue.

Mr. Paulinus arrived around 6:30 am, and by 7am, they called the first four student visa applicants to come forward.

We were asked to switch off our phones and he gave the four of us 3 chairs each to arrange our documents in the order he was going to call it out.

Immediately he started, he noticed the first guy wasn't really fast, he just started shouting at the guy, telling him that it's like he doesn't want to do his interview today.

From the info i got here, I already knew what to expect and I arranged by documents properly before going to the embassy.

Mr. Paulinus really frustrated the other guys that came out with me. He even threatened to send them out. Me I was just focused, before he even finish mentioning the next document I have already brought it out. He was now telling the other guys why can't they be as organised as me. Honestly, that man puts too much pressure on people, the time he uses to shout can be used to tell them what he needs them to do. You just hv to be very organised and fast to avoid his wahala.

He left the other guys and asked me to go in for the next stage.

I went in, sat for about 20 minutes then one guy and another lady that came for family reunion joined me. after like five minutes, they took the 3 of us to another building inside the compound for out interview.

We waited for some minutes then they asked us to go inside 3 diffent rooms for the interview.

Me: Good morning.
VO: Good morning.
VO: Have you traveled before?
Me: Yes
VO: Have you funded?
Me: No. she gave me a form to sign and asked me to make sure I fund as soon as possible.
VO: What course?
Me: Told her
Vo: What school?
Me: Told her.

She now went on to complete my biometric.

VO: Lets begin the Interview now.
Me: Ok Ma
VO: Why this course? I was about dealing with the question when the VO told me that I should just give her a very brief answer, so I shortened my answer.

Vo: Why Germany?
Me: Told Her. she asked me to keep my answers short again.

Vo: Why not UK, US or Canada?
Me: Told her, had to give her a direct and short answer cuz that's what she said she wants.

VO: What do you know about Germany? please just the key points only.
Me, I mentioned while she types.
VO: Have you been to Germany or Any European countries before?
Me: Germany, No, Another European country yes, I mentioned the country.
Vo: What your plans after your studies?
Me: Told her.

Vo: What's your Bsc. thesis?
Me: Told her.

Vo: That will be all, my office will contact you via male, have a nice day.
Me: Enjoy the rest of your day.

My personal observation:
I spent about 50 minutes with her. most of the time was used by her for typing in my answers.

It seems they have a lot of applications to attend to, hence why she told me from the get go to make my answers very short.

If you answer your questions confidently, they will most likely not give you a test even if they have time for it.

Be calm, the Interview is actually easy to pass through.

Yes i can have conversation... but like u said i will practice the questions on the internet grin

Jigba:

It's not that hard, just practice the questions on the internet. They are really similar to the real exam. Also, YouTube is great when it comes to learning.
Na b2 and c1 be the koko!.

I guess you could at least speak now!. Not fluent but you could have conversations, right?

Facts! cool

Eke40seven:

The key to Germany,
Come with the right papers and very good language skills, in the absence of that, things can be very difficult, although you know many may cope as time go bye but it's a function of so many things, especially the city you live in and people you meet.

The life of an asylum seeker might be hard but they tend to survive if they are accepted.

empressonassis:
Hello house. So I did my Visa interview already. Decided to post the questions here since I find this forum very useful and helpful to german student visa applicants. When I got there, after scaling through Paulinus and his screening, I was ushered in and directed to the counter where I was to have my interview. The VO at that counter was okay. Quite slow though, as he was actually typing every reply I was given to the questions word for word on his desk top! How weird. Anyways, the questions were:

1. What is my full name
2. Where is my place of birth given in my passport? What state is it.
3. Where did I do my undergraduate studies? What country? Name of school
4. What was my undergraduate research or project topic?
5. Give myself a score of the undergraduate research from 1-10 (10 being the highest score).
6. Where am I going to study in Germany? Place
7. What school?
8. Have I paid my full school fees or just a part of it? (I am going to a private school which pays tuition fees)
9. When am I supposed to complete payment? (I paid half).
10. What is my date of resumption?
11. What course am I going to study?
12. Why the school?
13. Why Germany?
14. Why not Nigeria
15. Have you been to Germany before?
16. What do I know about Germany? Politics
17. What do I know about Germany? Economy and everything else?
18. What is the capital of and the largest city in Germany?
19. Am I coming back to Nigeria?
20. What do I intend to do after my studies in Germany?
21. Fintiba have I funded?
22. How much did I pay?
23. Can I speak German.

That's it guys. The VO was a Nigerian. He went through all my documents one after the other and even checked the copies for most of them. He asked for my Visa fee (N28,000) exactly and I gave it to him.
I must admit it was a long interview. I was standing all through and I was on heels. My legs were killing me. Anyway, I wish all those who are yet to do their own interviews success.

Don't fall for his scam it can never be done in Lagos, just take all your time and go down to Abj.. I did mine there, got it in 2weeks.

larrycomes:
Pls, has anyone done change of date of birth recently? I'm Having this issue with my date of birth. I plan on travelling to abuja next week, from Lagos, have never been to Abuja, and i don't how long it takes to get the passport because i need it urgently. Pls, if anyone has done it recently or know someone who has please let me know. I called immigration, they said it can be done only in abuja, but refuse to tell me how long it will take and someone at immigration office in lagos told me it can be done in Lagos and told me what to pay, but i don't trust them i don't want to have issue with my passport outside Nigeria, because they can do anything in Lagos. I need to know documents required and affordable hotel close to immigration office in abuja that i can lodge.
