PM News is reporting that the prices of food items have crashed in Hadejia, Jigawa state. Quoting News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), PM News reports that the crash in food price is as a result of ‘a significant increase in the supply of agricultural produce to the market’. According to investigations by NAN on Tuesday at Hadejia market, food prices were down by about 30 percent. Now, a bag of millet goes for N14, 000 as against N18, 000 while a bag of paddy rice went for N8, 500 as against its previous price of N11, 000. Maize and sorghum were sold at N11, 000 and N13, 000 down from their old prices of N15, 000 and N17, 000, respectively. PM News quotes NAN as saying that its investigation showed that the crash was necessitated by the harvesting of food crops and the corresponding increase in the supply of food items in the market. It also also reports that farmers recorded high yields due to appreciable rainfall and good weather condition recorded this cropping season. Traders, who spoke with NAN at the market, attributed the drop in prices of food items in the state to increase the supply of fresh produce from the farms while a grain dealer, Alhaji Kassim Adamu expressed confidence that prices would further go down because of the harvest by farmers. “The supply keeps moving up and it will push prices further down,” he said. Meanwhile, Nigeria in talks with the Chinese import-export bank China Exim Bank for a $21 billion loan to finance its 2016 budget and develop new infrastructure projects to boost the ailing economy. This was announced by the minister of budget and national planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma following his visit to China in July and President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to China in April. http://www.starsgist.com/goodnews-prices-of-rice-corn-other-foodstuffs-crash-down/

Pidggin:Lol. Ok my dear. |
Pidggin:My dear, that's my humble opinion, it's not my intention to hurt your feelings. |
Lol THIEFING banks. |
So my dear OP, Are we expected to compare and contrast between the duo? |
splenzard:OP, even I can testify that you joined in calling GEJ '' CLUELESS '' during his administration. |
NOOOOOOOOOO NOW. You handed a country that has already been swallowed up by the cancer called CORRUPTION, bastardized by STEALING, LOOTING, and THIEFING by the high and mighty, and drowned plus suffocated with UNEMPLOYMENT, POVERTY AND HATRED. You handed over a country that was almost dethroned by Boko Haram, and with a military that had lost its morals and courage to protect the sovereignty of the nation. You handed over a country that was the fastest growing economy on paper but in reality it's characterized by starving in the midst of plenty. You handed over a country that was in a near death and comatose State only for this new man at the helm of affairs to bury it the more. Come 2019, I wonder what their slogan and manifesto will be. Maybe '' LET'S RETURN TO TRANSFORMATION AGENDA". |

Hmmm Na wao Good for them. It serves them right. The governors must learn to be proactive and develop their internally generated revenue to survive. No more time for lazy ass pot bellied governors who wait for federal allowee to share amongst themselves and their cronies. |

Rossikki:Lol I dey laugh oooo. Have you been to Obudu cattle ranch which is located in the northern part of cross river state before? We know that the roads linking Obalinko to other adjoining towns are in a bad state but the patronage to the ranch is still nice. Get those shops in Tinapa running again the way it's proposed to run, then patronage will improve massively. Not the roads or monorails. |
Rossikki:You have a point there but if you've been to Tinapa recently, you would then realize that this is another money wasting white elephant project that won't bless the lives of the masses. The dreams of having Tinapa back then when the construction began has been dashed. Most of the stores are empty, no visitors anymore. Why bother wasting more cash on an investment that won't yield returns. |
I don't think this project will benefit the poor masses in any way. |
The only attractive profession in Nigeria is Politics. That's why it's a do or die affair because when you finally get there, you get everything. |
