I would like you to do me a favour but I don't know how your schedule is at UAE presently. I would have like to get 4 ways stargold lnbf. The one from UAE is better than the one from aliexpress (China) and cheaper.

so swapped the lnb, and immediately the cracking video stopped. even though signal strength was 58% and 9%!.
so i still went ahead to optimize it...and was able to adjust it to signal strength 59%, signal quality 98%!, so everything super now

so where can i buy a replacement lnb?. how much is it, and is there a preffered make?

Congratulation bro, am happy to hear your testimony. You can use any offset Ku lnbf since the satellite it is being use for doesn't require any special lnbf or you can buy strong short neck lnbf. The price goes for 1k from my end but I don't know how much it is being sold at your end.

My dstv has been hving signal issues of late.
I hv tried asjusting the dish n lnb..yet the intermittent cracking video persists.
The signal strength has refused to go above 60 to 65%
While the signal quality increased from 55% to 75% _95%
I feel i need hifger values of sognal strength to stop the cracking video.

So need help on how 2 go about it

the signal strength on your receiver is okay but I don't know if the signal quality on your receiver is fluctuating or not and if it is fluctuating then follow this steps and find out the problem with your setup.
1. Check if there is any obstruction to the line of sight to your setup and if there is none then check no2.
2. Remove the coaxial cable from your lnbf. Check the tip of the cable to know if it have rusted or expired. The tip of the cable will be having substance like white powder if the cable have expired. Change the cable if it have expired but if tip have rusted then cut off the tip of the cable.
3. If the problem still persist after doing all these then change the lnbf.

I had a similar experience with that decoder called Tiger T8hd. Infact, i regret buying it my brother. It's nothing but toy. The component are poorly built which is below par for the African market. In my case it was not even an issue of upgrade, the decoder just went off while watching never to power on again. i was relaxed at first thought at worst it can't be more than power issue. On getting to my technician, he fixed it and i was happy, my decoder was back to life. Little did i know that the joy will be short-lived, on getting home i powered it on nd connected the cable Alas! the tuner could not receive any signal. The most painful aspect is that the decoder is less than 3wks. I'm yet to see anyone who has the board or i.c e.t.c to fix it. Every other thing is functioning but no signal. It was a bitter experience!

Try and down grade the receiver (Try and flash older firmware on that your receiver).

You are welcome on board. At this stage it will be difficult for you to do the work yourself, so I advice you to buy one 90cm dish and one 60cm dish and contact a professional installer to do the installation for you. Ask the installer to use the 90cm for Eutelsat 7A @ 7°W (MBC) then the 60cm dish Eutelsat 16A @16°E (TVC) and Astra 2f @28.2 °E (Joy TV). Ask him for other items that is needed for the installation.

Irib TV is beaming on Central Asian beam while Abu dhabi sport is on Middle East beam (Badr 5), so I suggest to you that you try Al Yah 1 @ 52.5° East, there are some goodies there.

you should try it this way;
1. 3°W + 7°W with your 1m dish.
2. 42.5°E + 68.5°E with your 90cm dish.
3. 16°E + 28.2°E with your 60cm dish.

Arena sport is on Hellas 2 bro. Both Hellas 2 & 3 are on the same orbital position.. 39e.
The Hellas 2 beam is weaker here.
Hellas 3 was launched this year and for now the beam is strong enough to reach us and like most European beams, it will be tweak later to be receivable on 4M and above

Yeah bro, Arena sports is there. They were formally transmitting on Bulsat @39°E. Their decrypting keys are always available online.
