A friend and his pretty girlfriend , are both engaged and to be married soon. They work and live in different States at the moment. Problem is, the lady's boss(who is single) have been asking her out and sending her text massages and all. My friend is not comfortable with this and have made his position clear. The lady seem to enjoy her job and have decided to stop updating her man about her daily activities(a practice which has kept their relationship alive), as according to her it's making her man uncomfortable and threatening her job. Her boyfriend offered to have a discussion with her boss but she has maintained it is a bad idea and refuses to give her out her bosses number. One wonders why she is not bold enough to tell her boss off( at least threaten to resign if he continues ). Today she had a little friction with her man and have threatened to stop updating her boyfriend on matters concerning her boss. Though they seem to be very much in love and her boss knows about their marriage plans and yet he has refused to quit. Will her keeping secrets from her man not make things worse? And if you were her man what will you do? |
writetopoker:with the presence of a gas cooker, you are not far from the truth...."imara uzo ogor " is a done after all marriage rides have been concluded, the relatives of the bride while going to formally know where their daughter have been married to, go with gifts intended to provide the basic home requirements for a family. The average Igbo bride price is relatively cheaper than other tribes in Nigeria. |
Please our guys with info should please update us on the way forward with the 3rd tranch payments |
A few weeks ago, the people of Shaki community in Oyo state started experiencing earth tremors that lasted several days. This sudden movements didn’t occur in Shaki alone, but also in surrounding communities. Since then, the residents of Shaki have fled their homes, while others who remain, do so in fear. Following this event, experts warn of an imminent earthquake in Nigeria’s south-west in the next four years. In a report titled, ‘Preliminary Assessment of Earth Tremor Occurrence in Shaki Area, Shaki West Local Government, Oyo State,’ researchers from the Department of Geology, Obafemi Awolowo University, led by Dr Adepelumi A. Abraham, indicate that the people in the south western region will experience a ‘damaging earthquake’ before the year 2020. Research leader, Adepelumi, is no stranger to seismic researches, he conducted one 6 years ago when a similar tremor occurred in Ogun State, Abeokuta in 2009. At the time, Adepelumi suggested that the risk of more earthquakes in that region was 2.8 percent. But in the recent report, the risk of imminent earthquakes in the south-west region has risen to 91.1 percent. “… Our findings indicate the probability of earthquake occurrence in the study area between the year 2009 and 2028 increased from 2.8 per cent to 91.1 percent.” The geologist has advised the federal government to adopt proactive strategies towards preventing the impending disasters. As if to corroborate the findings of Adepelumi, the Nigerian Association of Water-Well Drilling Rig Owners and Practitioners (AWDROP) recently also warned that a lack of regulating guidelines in the abstraction of underground water, will induce earthquake and sea water intrusion in the country. ISpiksDaTroof:this lady was the major financier of the then neighbour 2 neighbour, that campaigned for GEJ before her political appointment. She had never been poor before venturing into politics. That said if she is found guilty let the authority do the needful, according to the detect of the Nigerian law. |
Nigerian engineer designs and builds a '100% Nigerian' tractor Isa Sanusi BBC Africa, Abuja Posted at 15:15 1 UK-trained Nigerian engineer Timothy Addigi Terfa is getting ready to launch a Nigerian-built tractor. Mr Terfa said: "I designed and built this tractor, which is 100% Nigerian, with a team of skilled individuals." He has called the tractor Ijodo, meaning labour in the Tiv language. The tractor is designed with different attachments to cover a variety of farm jobs. For many, agriculture is still manual in Nigeria because of the high cost of farm machinery. Some Ijodo tractors have been sold, but the engineer is looking for more investment. Mr Terfa wants to inspire others: "My greatest desire is that someone out there will be encouraged and motivated to do something with the ideas they have to make Nigeria better."

This is impressive. .. I just hope other governors will key in to this effort which will aide the growth of our industrial sector. If this sector grows Nigeria would have got one thing right. Export of heavy machineries/equipments will rack in the much needed forex. |
ayukdaboss:If you had something to do i am sure you wouldn't have had the time to reply my post. And thanks for contributing to keeping me busy.....much love |
Ameachi's excuse (Dumb ): "I am not against the University. I hope you people appreciate that. My argument about Okerenkoko is that the land alone is N13 billion. If you give me N13 billion I will buy half of Lagos. That N13 billion has built the university already so there is no need to spend more money. Let EFCC retrieve the money from them and then release them and we would build the University. I believe the Federal government has no money to continue. When we have money we would continue. The Minister of state for Petroleum has whispered to me that he would look for the money to continue...Minister, bring it to me and I will continue" Kachikwu's response(smart): “First let me say on Maritime University, I disagree with the minister of transport. Any facility that is placed in the south south, we should work towards developing it. I don’t care the circumstances under which we are placed… It is not my position to determine whether land was valued at N19 billion or N10 billion or N3 billion. The appropriate institutions which are the court systems will determine that. That has nothing to do with the development of the infrastructure. As far as I know, so much has gone into that property. So much fiscal assets are being developed. We are not going to throw the baby with the bath water. We will deal with the issues but the University will be developed. If he doesn't want it in maritime, I will take it to petroleum" NL what is your take on this? |
Ovamboland:if you have a mother go home and ask her how much the gold(if any) your dad bought for her in the 60s,70s or 80s are worth now? My friend you will be amazed. A friend of mine spent about 15 million to acquire a property in Gwaripa in 2007 only to sell in 2013 for 130million. So the 18 million mansion could have been gotten at a cheaper rate. I know bankers with lean income, but yet they struggled to own houses in Abuja. Please remove your sentimental hat, so you can be more objective. |
This is clearly irresponsible of our Govt and it's Agencies. Someone whom you are yet to charge to court and yet you have already determined her faith! A friend of mine who bought a property(a plot of land with uncompleted three bedroom flat) in Gwaripa for 9million in 2007 plus additional 5million to finish the house, sold the same house in 2013 for 130million. So it baseless to say Diezani house is worth 18 million dollars therefore she is corrupt, when it's possible the house could have been built while she was still with shell. I pity my country under the present administration. |
KINGwax007:your concerns about the Niger Delta youths, shows how complex and divers our coutry is. And so we(including You ) should support the call for true federalism. What I don't understand with people like you; * what is your problem with federalism? *why do you think it is not best for us? *why do you want us to continue with a system that has clearly created more divide? *Do you not believe in the ability of other states to be prosperous, under a federal system? Your likes should wake up to the reality that, the only way forward is true federalism. |
Tastemoney:Really! If you ever visited Akwa Ibom my friend your perception will change. I am 80% sure you are a FAN of Rotimi Ameachi, and will be quick to defend him for doing "very well" for his state abi? So you assertion above does not good water. Meanwhile comparing the south to the north in terms of construction should be realative , as the cost of construction in the south south(Niger Delta) region is way more expensive. (Not trying to justify corruption from some of these leaders) |
For the records, as the OP I do not support violence neither do I support the break up of Nigeria. I was only touched by the writer story. My support is for true federalism, that has worked for Nigeria in the past and I believe will work for Nigeria again, if our political class will have the courage to see it through. God bless Nigeria. |
WHEN THE PEN DOES NOT BRING YOU TO THE NEGOTIATION TABLE, THE GUN WILL. - The violent most times takes it by force. Many years ago, a little boy (my late dad) came out of this creek; he was a full Niger Deltan, and knew he had to make it, so that he can free his own people. With the help of his mother, he travelled to the UK. The Niger Deltans are brilliant people, so it was no surprise that he excelled in school (Manchester University). He became a Civil Engineer, and was immediately picked by Shell British petroleum (Shell Nigeria now). He spent more than 10 years there, working as an expatriate and was transferred back to Port-harcourt (Old Rivers state). As a civil Engineer he designed and built some of the best and stylish houses for himself then as he was wealthy. Urged by his people to represent them in the old Rivers state house of assembly, he accepted and Offcourse he won (though he wasn't a politician). And then when Governor Melford Okilo (first governor of Rivers state) won the governorship election in 1979, late Francis Endeley was picked as the first commissioner of works and transport because these izon men knew it was time to transform their state. In their short stay in power they established Rivers state university of science and technology, he reclaimed lands, controlled erosion and constructed housing estates like Elekahia and Agip estates and roads. He opened the first major gas power plant in Ogbia then. He was a professional, and Okilo was also a lawyer. Then catastrophe stuck, the tyrant was successful in his coup. BUHARI (a secondary school dropout with the born to rule mentality and a GUN) came in and immediately started his havoc. My late dad and Late Okilo were locked in Kirikiri maximum prison, and slammed with more than 80 yrs in prison with HARD labour for NOTHING. His crime was that he was a Niger Deltan and he was corrupt because in their mindset no Niger Deltan can be mega RICH (irrespective of the fact that we have the OIL). They seized all his houses and turned them into chalets where Buhari makes love to his prostitutes each time he is in town. They froze all his international accounts, and questioned him on how he opened such accounts (someone who worked for the Shell British petroleum). LET ME CUT THE VERY LONG STORY SHORT. Our parents then used their pens and their intelligence to try and set this region free, they tried the dialogue and peaceful methods, but yet were crushed and denied every right to emancipate their people. Those that are dead now, will smile in their graves when they watch men and women who have said NO, TO THIS OPPRESSION, WHO HAVE BROUGHT THE GOVERNMENT TO THE ROUND TABLE IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS READY TO NEGOTIATE. Today as a technocrat and a professional with my plenty qualifications, from overseas, ontopseas and even beneathseas. I can't get anywhere near the major oil companies, I have to get a letter of recommendation from one Musa or Sani. GOD FORBID BAD THING. And if Jonathan's cousin who is a professional and an engineer makes money from his company, Buhari and the northern government will still lock him up in the dungeon for no reason. So you see we are in a cycle; we can never grow above what they want us to be. They are our gods, but that will STOP one day. IT'S NOW OR NEVER - The Niger Delta avengers are a blessing in disguise. Like Ena Ofugara said, we allow them tell us our own history; things have changed now, we will tell our history and our future ourselves. I am Oyinemi Nicholas Endeley, a son from the IZON KINGDOM and I say Niger Delta Avengers carry on. Dazzit and Dazzol 4 NOW! #Still on Jesus is Lord. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10206118048303218&id=1623266371

babadee1:Russia's shares common problems with Nigeria; *its economy is also dependent on export of oil and gas. *it's country is also plagued with corruption. *Russia is facing unrest with its neighbours, Ukraine *Russia is battling sanctions from the west and USA and Nigeria is obviously not. *it's weather and climate is comparatively bad with that of Nigeria. *it's currency is sliding against the dollar. *it's stock market have seen investor exit. With the above and many more this is the current state of russia So Nigeria and the APC led govt have No excuse!

Nigerians react to BBC tweet about Nigerians flag. Personally I think the simplicity of our flags design makes it cool and beautiful. https://mobile.twitter.com/BBCAfrica/status/675230835990208512

“To our criticizers from the region, we want you to know you are all cowards and afraid to stand for your people. “To ex-agitators of the likes of Tompolo, We know why you people are after us. Our agitation is more civilized than yours, the Niger Delta Avengers is more concerned with people of Niger Delta unlike you (ex-agitations) that were into kidnapping, killing of Nigeria soldiers, sea piracy, vessel and tanker hijacking. However, we were able to carry out all our operations without killing a fly. We have sophisticated arms far better than what you use to have during your kidnapping days,” it asserted. On the rumour that oil has been discovered in the North East it, Niger Delta Avengers said: “How will you feel if this found oil is been managed by Niger Deltans. We are very sure the Niger Deltans will not even have two per cent oil bloc if oil is really found in the Northeast. If you did not shut down, we will shut your stations permanently for you.” On the strikes of the group, which have devastated oil and gas operations of major oil companies in the region and practically crippled crude oil production, it said: “From the high command of the Niger Delta Avengers, we congratulate all the strike teams of the Avengers. Without taking any innocent life or that of the Nigeria military, we were able to shut down 50 per cent of crude production.” “We have been seeing a lot on the media about us. Some are asking, “Who are you avenging?” some calling us empty heads, ex-agitators have been condemning us on daily basis.
