I wish you guys will read the whole thing before you comment. I said some... and that it was increasing. I didn't say all. The problem here is, it is becoming an epidemic and would continue to increase if something doesn't change it may even become a norm. Like any other the thing it can become a culture as it continues to grow and it would be harder and harder to find guy who don't flaunt their wealth and girls who don't gold dig.
You didn't specify my dear.... And hey! I read the whole piece, infact, I was hoping you could respond to my first post on this thread.. Please try and search for it so you can peruse through it cause there are some few questions I asked and I craved for answers from you... |
Messi has equalled Zinedine Zidane's total of four victories in the prestigious contest held by the Uruguayan newspaper 'El País'. FC Barcelona's Argentine forward Lionel Messi was voted 'King of European Football' for the fourth year running in the annual contest held by the Uruguayan daily 'El País', which published the results of the European sports critics vote on Sunday. Messi, Barcelona's outstanding striker, received 108 votes giving him a clear margin over his team-mate Andrés Iniesta, who came in second with 93 votes. What was most surprising was the placing of Real Madrid's Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who could only manage third in this year's edition with only nine votes. Lionel Messi has already won the prestigious contest in previous years, which is very highly considered in South America, namely in 2009, 2010 and 2011. By winning it again this year, he equals the record held by the Frenchman Zinedine Zidane, who was voted best player in Europe in 1998, 2001, 2002 and 2003. The winner of best coach went to the manager of the Spanish national squad Vicente del Bosque, who beat the Portuguese coach José Mourinho by nine points, with another Spaniard, Josep Guardiola, coming in in third place. Around 250 journalists from a variety of European newspapers, magazines and press agencies participated in the vote, the results of which have been published in the sports section of Uruguayan daily 'El Pais' for the last 27 years. Endorsed by 250 European journalists... |

anitank: @op u forgot to mention the fact that men never go for the simple, decent girls but won't keep their eyes off those flashy girls with designer bags, sky high heels, long hair like that of lucifer's agent etc. One thing they forget is that when they eventually start dating them, they'll have to keep up with those appearances thereby asking for money and gifts, that's when they start calling nigerian girls all sorts of names...... Real dumb if u ask me@bolded, is that what you are asserting? Don't generalize please. You are free to say some or most but don't ever use "MEN" (without preceding it with some or most) to generalize... |
Drdaps: messi i just hate dat dwarf since 2005 wen the fool was awarded 2 unjust penalty in U17 worldcupGuy stop the hate.. It won't change anything on his part, but will give you more pains cos he doesn't seem like he his ready to drop anytime soon. Abeg just try build the likeness again. After all, no be him fault say them give am two penalties... |
P4VS20: The last time i checked. some women dont even have to dig the gold, some men flaunt the gold to attract the women, and those who re interested come for it. simple. if she aint interested in the gold, she will turn a blind eye to it. likewise if a guy doesnt want a gold digger, bury your gold where they cant find it.Abi oooo. I am just wondering... It seems the Op didnt take alot of things into consideration before making this thread, else she wouldnt have come up with this thread cos it's.... just awkward. Gosh! |
ogugua88: I disagree. Are girls dumb to the point that material gifts sway them so easily? Is that how their mothers were? For those of us who aren't gold diggers, is it because we don't like gifts?Gbam!!! God go bless you for me abeg... Infact! If no be one thing I for propose immediately but... |
Simple as drinking water.... Lock-up and walk away. Is that too much to do ![]() |
Wow... This got me ruminating... Op, in as much as you are right in most of the points you outlined, yet, there are some iota if not more than that of fallacy as regards this piece of yours. I would agree to some extent that men are one of the contributing factors that tends to spoil a lot of women with the all-money mentality today, but even at that, men are not entirely to be blamed. What happens if a girl is the principled and very disciplined type that doesn't get gifts just anyhow? In as much as men get you gifts every now and then is not a yardstick for you to base your aim of going into a relationship or whatever on money. That would be a misconception. Yes! I agree a lot of men flaunt these stuffs to trip them girlz, but even at that, a lady who knows her worth hook, line and sinker cannot be bought no matter what. The fact that the last three men a girl dated gave her gifts it's not or should not be a yardstick for her to be requesting from the current boyfriend. Tell me, if a guy comes on here to give a complaint as regards how a girl dumped him or something, and how he had suffered similar fate from the past three relationships he had been, and because of that he decides to generalize that all girls are the same, what would you say? I presume your answer would be that, despite the fact that three or four girls did hurt him, that is not to say that every other girl will hurt him. Gbam! This is contrary to what you said. Like you said, because she had dated three guyz (probably her past three dates), that did buy her gifts and stuffs, that means she would also expect that from the current guy. This would be very wrong because it would mean generalizing that all guys are indebted to act as such. Do you catch my drift? Men like to show off quite alright, but you and I know very well that, there are few (rare gems) that you can't flaunt your wealth for and succeed. You would agree with me right? Now, this means that, the fact that a man flaunts what he has is not enough reason for you to have that fishy kinda mindset that the guy is suppose to pay or be an office to you. Do you think it's enough reason to tell you that I was unfaithful with you blah blah blah due to the fact that I saw a woman on the street who was unclad? Would you accept that as good enough reason to justify my unfaithfulness? C'mon! I know it plays a role in the seduction game, but that is not an excuse to be unfaithful, right? Same applies in that assertion of yours. In a nutshell, in as much as I agree with you that men play a contributing role in helping to shape the minds of a lot of girls today, that is not to say the men are entirely to blame because it is still up to the girls involved to choose to fall or not. After all, there are girls that will NEVER receive any gift from you, no matter what you get them. Are these same set of girls not humans? Or do you want to deny the fact that they do exist? Bottom line: Men are not to blame for female gold-diggers but the females involved. Men play a contributing part in flaunting or offering gifts or the likes, but it is always at the disposal of the said women to accept or not. |
