You cannot stop people in a country from voting and that why I support Baba Akintoye to push for Yoruba nation while we push for Biafra. That way everybody determines what democracy and human rights will look like in their countries.

Support separation, its the best way to have the tribal freedom you desire
Pepperdemisback:
Less than 10% voted in Anambra in the last Election but people were even coming from Prisons abroad to vote in Lagos.
Who do una this thing?
Politics › Re: NIGERIA LANDMASS: Distribution According To Geo-political Regions by DMerciful(m): 3:28pm On Apr 23, 2024
Its not because of the sea port. If there's no money coming from the centre, Lagos cannot maintain its current debt servicing and infrastructure.

The reason SW appear to be one is because of Niger Delta oil money from the center. If you stop that, all state will be for themselves
Jogs1900:
Don't let us speculate that Lagos will not have the money it has today if there's full resources control..Lagos will develop at its own pace...That's what SW leaders want..The pressure being put on Lagos resources by people from other states will reduce. It will give Lagos the opportunity to explore it's full potential..If it's because of the seaport, you should know the federal government is always ready to give approval to any state that can build a seaport...They gave approval to lekki seaport and gelegele in delta state.

Infact, we dislike Yahaya Bello with passion. And thats because of what he did to Natasha Akpoti and other political opponents.

We dislike Tinubu for his criminal tendencies, unjustly fought GEJ govt, for bringing Buhari and supporting him unconditionally even when Buhari was killing Nigeria.

If you choose to revolve Yoruba destiny around Tinubu, how long will that last? Even Aregbesola left Tinubu and Fashola is distancing himself from Tinubu because they know his tendencies.

If given a transparent and credible election,
Tinubu will not win in SW!
StOla:
You meant to say you started loving Ambode when you thought he will help you get rid of Tinubu's control of Lagos politics, which would have weakened his political capacity to seek the Presidential ticket of APC and eventually become President.

We know you as emergency supporters. Vultures who become active once they see an opportunity in the offing to consume as death lurks around.

Or is that not the same reason for suddenly loving Obaseki of Edo, because he was fighting with Oshiomhole and by extension Tinubu and his party?

Is that not the same reason you all suddenly loved Yahaya Bello in Kogi and Akeredolu in Ondo, because you thought they will be stumbling blocks to help whittle down the political landscape of Tinubu?

Even Buhari suddenly became loved in the hopes that he would scuttle Tinubu's ambition with consensus candidate and Naira scarcity?

How did that story end for you all?
Politics › Re: NIGERIA LANDMASS: Distribution According To Geo-political Regions by DMerciful(m): 3:18pm On Apr 23, 2024
You're speculating.

Let a SS senator present the bill and lets see who will vote for or against. Just believing some people will block it might be prejudicial.

I asked a question why Igbos do not own oil wells in Niger Delta but majorly Hausa-Fulanis seconded by Yorubas. Have you really thought about this?

Again, you seem to think that if Nigeria adopts 100% resource control, Lagos will have the money it has today...it won't!
Jogs1900:
All SW senators or politicians will speak with one voice in the national assembly irrespective of political parties...Lagos can even afford to assist those other states in their finances....Their rallying points are Tinubu, DAWN commission , Odua Investment even Amotekun unlike South east senators that dont have rallying point. They operate independently.

Go and look at all infices of development since APC came, they're going down including life expectancy but your narrow-mindedness thinks you're winning
CoronaVirusPro:
Exactly!

Knowing fully well that anyone still expecting Arsenal to someday win the UEFA Champions League, is day dreaming.

Why I emphasized that people need to face the reality staring at them, and know that APC is here to stay for an average of 3 decades.
NYSC › Re: Titilola Adeleke: Osun First Lady Inspires NYSC Corps Members At Ede Camp by DMerciful(m): 2:59pm On Apr 23, 2024
Igbos do bulk vote because same thing appeals to them and that is supporting a candidate with propensity for free market economy and liberal policies. They supported Agbaje against Ambode but when Ambode resumed, they discovered that he operated a liberal system and they loved him. Its this love that spite you guys against Ambode
StOla:
At least you are honest enough to admit Igbo obsession over Lagos politics and the reason for the deliberate tribal bulk votes.

All Yorubas have to do is to provide bulk votes for their preferred candidate.

But since it is a tribal obsession, I do not expect you to realise your folly.

Senators from Imo, Abia and Anambra might support the bill but Ebonyi and Enugu will likely not. Lagos, Ogun and Ondo might support the bill but Ekiti, Osun and Oyo will likely not support it.

However, without resource control, Nigeria cannot develop because you need the competition to develop
Jogs1900:
The SW has been at the forefront of resource control and restructuring...
This is going to be a very sensitive bill to move in the national assembly..
Before one moves this kind of bill, one must be sure of the position of those you will need their support for the bill to scale through...As we can see, the SW senators are not scared of the northern senators but at the same time, this bill will be a game of numbers which the SW and SE doesnt have...Now, with the body language of our SE senators,do you think they will support this bill?

If we have no say, you won't be doing political Oro festival only during election yr neither will you prevent Southwesterners that look like Igbos from voting.

You know electronic voting will come someday and Igbos will determine the direction of who wins in Lagos eventually
StOla:
Whoever Yorubas want will be Governor.

Ambode became Governor because Yoruba wanted him and your tribal support for Jimi Agbaje in that same election did not prevent him from defeating your candidate.

You have no say in this matter.
Politics › Re: Ex-Imo Governor, Emeka Ihedioha Resigns From PDP by DMerciful(m): 2:46pm On Apr 23, 2024
You see politics exactly same way you see Arsenal vs Man utd. You'll realize your fo0lery in due course
CoronaVirusPro:
The brilliant and upright know APC will be ruling for an average of 3 decades and why they all joining the train. Even aggrieved party members did not leave APC, they stood aside.

Ihedioha should join the winning team and might have another shot at a juicy position.

His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) has perfected the art of winning beyond human comprehension, and only one like him can defeat APC, and he happens to be last political demigod on Earth which makes it outrightly impossible.

Political opponents should align and stop wasting scarce resources.

The only people in support of 100% resource control are SS people and the reason is because the resources is in SS!

Restructuring is different from resource control. What the SW support is restructuring without resource control and thats why you won't hear fiscal federalism.

Has a South Southerner moved a bill in the national assembly for resource control? Can we do this and see who will oppose it rather than speculate?
Jogs1900:
Now since the leaders from SE are not in support of resource control, it means the country will remain like this for long because I know the north will never support it.Na south dey do south.
The battle is in the national assembly.
NYSC › Re: Titilola Adeleke: Osun First Lady Inspires NYSC Corps Members At Ede Camp by DMerciful(m): 2:33pm On Apr 23, 2024
Well, if you deny Ambode voting because of Igbos, so be it. You're doing yourself but Igbos will do what they do.
StOla:
You and who want Ambode back?

You are already positioning the guy for failure by your tribal support.

You are really hard of learning.
Politics › Re: NIGERIA LANDMASS: Distribution According To Geo-political Regions by DMerciful(m): 2:31pm On Apr 23, 2024
The generality of the Igbos are not focused on Niger Delta resources. Do you know the gas reserves in SE? There's also oil.

The leaders in SE might be looking out for their pockets hence you won't hear them support Biafra same way they don't talk about restructuring.

Who owns 80% of Niger Delta oil wells? Igbos or Northerners?
Jogs1900:
Why is our brothers from the SE not in support of restructuring?Did you notice that non of their leaders have ever spoken in support of restructuring.
Tinubu has been silently doing the restructuring...Don't let us write him off..He is yet to spend up to a year out of the 8years he's eligible to spend.

Many Igbos were in Lagos long before you guys from Ekiti, Ondo, Osun knew that a place called Lagos existed.

You don dey change mouth regarding Ambode. The reason they're thinking of bringing Ambode back is because of the support he has among Igbos to probably counter GRV
StOla:
Which Igbos supported Ambode?

Whoever Igbos think they can impose on Yorubas in Lagos, will always suffer the same defeat.

Until you learn to support politicians while on foreign soil, without making it a tribal political conquest.

Have you asked yourself if only Igbos are the non-Yorubas in Lagos?

But only you no get commonsense and situational awareness.

I'm Igbo from Delta!

Now to your question, lets not get sentimental, Tinubu is there, he has been shouting restructuring. Let him do the restructuring now!
Jogs1900:
I'm in support of resource control and a weak center..Since resource control is the best,Why is it that it's only SW and SS leaders that have been clamouring for resource control...No notable leader from SE whether dead or alive have ever clamoured for it.

The Chinese supermarket in Abuja is just one of the several past and possibly future restrictions of people of Nigeria by foreigners in Nigeria.

Is that not the reason Lagos is pushing for more local govt areas?

The SE is pushing for a state to balance the political equation of a regions however, they have the population to back that request.

Personally, I'd like restructuring with 100% resource control that way it doesn't matter if you decide to create states because you'll fund yourself
Jogs1900:
If it's based on population, will it make sense dividing Lagos state into 5 states because Lagos population alone is almost the population of the 5 eastern states...

Its based on population, not landmass. If Borno is 1million people and Imo is 10million for instance, you'll divide Borno to two state? Where is the wisdom in that?

Mind you some countries in Europe are smaller than Imo State alone
Jogs1900:
You can see there's no need for additional state creation in the south east looking at the landmass
