Forum for Good Governance in Nigeria (FGGN) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu for spare heading efforts to tackle terrorism across Africa.

According to the group, it's worthy of note that the two-day high level counter-terrorism summit held at Abuja is a well attended conference by African leaders ; United Nations Officials and several stakeholders across the world .

In a statement made available to journalists in Kaduna today, the Forum said ,in the face of rising insecurity in the country and africa , the summit will no doubt be more comprehensive in finding solutions.

In the statement jointly signed by the National Coordinator and Secretary;Comrade Abraham Douglas and Comrade Bala Galadima Ikara, the summit organised by the federal government with the support of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) with the theme: ‘Strengthening Regional Cooperation and Institution Building to Address the Evolving Threat of Terrorism’ will enhancing multilateral counter-terrorism cooperation and reshape the international community’s collective response to terrorism in Africa.

While aligning with President Tinubu on his position about illegal mining activities as a source for terrorism funding, the group in the statement expressed satisfaction that the summit has served as a formidable avenue for African leaders for the first to converge to review the threat of terrorism on the continent.

"We are happy to see African leaders discuss regional cooperation in addressing terrorism with a Frontline solutions and the urgent need to have an Integra security strategies to combat terrorism in Africa .Stating further, This is of paramount importance , especially with the increasing diverse threats posed by terrorist groups .

"We strongly backed the idea of President Tinubu's,who is the chair of the West African regional bloc ECOWAS to establish and strengthen a regional standby military force.Noting that it will be the beginning of end of terrorism in our dear continent .

"At this point, we are left with no option than to join other Nigerians to commend President Tinubu and his NSA for putting the security of lives of the citizens as a priority in line with the constitution.

"It is evidence in the manner the security challenges, such as: banditry and insurgency are being handled by this government that there will an end to problems . As we pray for better days , we also express hope the there will a day Nigerians can go to bed with their two eyes closed ".

You have no point!

Politics › Re: Ihedioha: Mass Resignation Hits Imo PDP by DMerciful(m): 12:40am On Apr 24, 2024
That was a smokescreen. The position of the national chairman was not supposed to be changed till after election.

What will the South do with the position of national chairman in the middle of campaign?

Wike fought for the ticket to be thrown open because he knew it was the turn of the SE. I'm not from the SE but SS, however, this is the truth that it should have been microzoned to the SE
kunle4toyeyaho:
You are not being sincere. Immediately Wike lost, the G5 Governors agreed to work for his success but he should ensure the position of national champion is given to the south. Why would a group within the party hold presidential ticket and still want to retain the national chairman to the exclusion of other stakeholders?
Politics › Re: Ihedioha: Mass Resignation Hits Imo PDP by DMerciful(m): 12:36am On Apr 24, 2024
Right from defecting to APC in 2014 when he could have supported GEJ and take over from GEJ to not pulling enough votes from the North in 2019 to not stepping down when he knew it was the turn of the South to not being able to unite the party now as the leader of the party

Politics › Re: Ihedioha: Mass Resignation Hits Imo PDP by DMerciful(m): 9:59pm On Apr 23, 2024
Wike did more than Atiku. Wike fought for the presidential ticket to be thrown open to deny microzoning to SE but when Atiku won it, he started shouting its the turn of the South.

Who was the chairman of the zoning committee? Orthom. Where did they zone it to? They left it open. Who is Orthom? Wike right hand man. So who is fooling who?

Atiku killed PDP and not WIKE

NYSC › Re: Titilola Adeleke: Osun First Lady Inspires NYSC Corps Members At Ede Camp by DMerciful(m): 8:08pm On Apr 23, 2024
That is what you believe but its not true. There is nothing like Yoruba or Igbo land but Nigeria.
When you join a country, you give up that right. To get back your land, you must breakaway from Nigeria.

McLizbae:
Igbos in Yoruba land have nothing to do with candidacy or policies, their favorite is just anybody that seem to have the least regards for the yoruba traditional heritage, simple! .

Do you know why the Israel Palestine Iraq Iran conflict has raged for 76yrs? It is because of what the British did. You can read about the British mandate after the fall of the Ottoman Empire.

Same British designed Nigeria not to work and thats why for 64yrs(since independence), we've not progressed. Unfortunately, Nigerians see the creation of Nigeria as the creation of God rather than the British. You can't just put people that are fundamentally different together in one country

The British are not perfect so mistake is allowed. What is not allowed is Nigerians seeing this British creation as divine and not willing to change the country even if they are dying. They see what the British did as equivalent to what God did.

Our senators and reps wants the status quo to remain because they may become irrelevant in a new country. Nigeria can separate to 5 countries and they'll be successful. Biafra Republic, Yoruba Nation, Lower Niger Republic, Middle Belt Republic, Arewa Republic can successfully come out of Nigeria and thrive. This is my ultimate desire for Nigeria, we cant remain one...won't work..not even in a 1000 yrs!
Jogs1900:
Sorry, I meant secession not referendum..Even at that,It's only our national assembly that can do that and if the south doesnt speak as one, it will not fly.. The north wants the status quo

It is time we start questioning our senators and house of reps instead of the presidency
Politics › Re: NIGERIA LANDMASS: Distribution According To Geo-political Regions by DMerciful(m): 4:47pm On Apr 23, 2024
They did not allow secession but they definitely allowed referendum. Midwest Region(Edo and Delta) was created via a plebiscite (referendum) in 1963. Some part of Nigeria joined Cameroon and some parts of Cameroon joined Nigeria via referendums
Jogs1900:
Our founding fathers didn't not allow referendum to be in our constitution hence the state that "Nigeria is an indivisible entity"
Na only military fit run am with decree not all these set of politicians..Na why e pain me when Orkar coup failed.

Politics › Re: NIGERIA LANDMASS: Distribution According To Geo-political Regions by DMerciful(m): 4:38pm On Apr 23, 2024
Then lets do a referendum across Nigeria and anywhere the referendum succeeds, let them go peacefully. Lets see how minority political class can decide for majority of the people
Jogs1900:
Lol...
Have you forgotten the first person to say that "Nigeria is an indivisible entity"
Last year, the wife of a prominent politician from the SE even begged politicians not to allow Nigeria to disintegrate.

Igbos are republicans in nature and business oriented. They will collectively support a liberal system but cannot be directed to move in a particular direction.

Why do you think some people are insisting on the indivisibility of Nigeria and who are the people insisting that Nigeria must not divide?

Belle dey fear, na e dey front?
